Good ole family oriented dinerish breakfast place if you find yourself on this side of the woods. The local popularity is outstanding and it's clear that it may never slow. My super friend and I came here on a Sunday for brunch. We both opted to stick with breakfast items, though it was tough to decide what to actually order! (insert The Notebook "what do you want?!? reference here). Variety of potato pancakes that taste more like a huge hashbrown patty than anything else. I am a sucker for potatoes so I am okay with that! I ordered the Spanish Potato Pancakes which has black olives, onions, cheddar cheese with a side of sour cream and salsa. This lacked luster for me. Maybe it's the spicy Latina in me, but I thought it would've had more flavour. You can tell the sour cream and salsa are commercial grade. I ended up trying to level up with hot sauce which only took it to a degree. My friend, she had better choices...except for the sweet tater tots...because I don't like sweet potato... But I have to admit that maybe I just didn't try the best of their best. The atmosphere and service was great and I'll do my research next time and make a better choice. read more

I just wrote a fucking review and it disappeared on me this is bs. Anyways I'll write it again, I was here a few years ago and the food since then has downgraded substantially. I don't know what changed since then but , what a downgrade lady's and gentlemen. I ordered the steak and eggs, I ordered my steak medium rare and my eggs over easy. I'm not sure what's so hard about cooking a steak but apparently lots of people struggle with it. My steak was very clearly a medium, not medium rare. Before I get into my eggs I'll state that I'm quite a fast eater. That being said my eggs ... my fucking eggs. The first egg I dug into was luke warm, by the time I got to the second egg it was cold. Idk about anybody else but for me cold runny yolk is not the vibe. The potatoes were probably the best part even tho they had no seasoning but had a decent crisp to them. On another note, my buddy got the crispy fried chicken sandwich... easily the saddest piece of fried chicken I have ever sank my teeth into. The breading tasted like flour and nothing else, no seasoning no nothing to it. The chicken itself also had no seasoning. That sandwich might have been the most disappointing thing that was brought to the table. I also indulged in the biscuits and gravy, which wasn't the worst, but once again no seasoning no kind of spices in the gravy. Also that sausage gravy was the runniest breakfast gravy I've had in my life. Don't get me wrong it wasn't like watery but definitely not a thick sausage gravy that'll stick to your insides. My girlfriend ordered the special French toast of the day which was a strawberry walnut French toast. To our utter disappointment it was one regular piece of French toast topped with that strawberry syrup and a walnut butter. The service was decent, nothing spectacular about it. All together if you have bland, regular old, sad taste buds I recommend this detrimental restaurant to you. read more

I have eaten here about 4-5 times in the past but didn't really know the name of this place. Then I met Lori- aka Mama Lor- at the Homegrown Festival this year. She is the nicest darn woman you could ever meet- so when I was in the Union Hill area on a snowy January day, I had to stop in. The cold snowy day melted away as we sat down to a great lunch of comfort food! They have a variety of items here- breakfast served through the lunch hour- yes! We had the lunch special of a grilled cheese sandwich, salad and a bowl of white bean chili. Comfort food! I took a peek at the dinner menu- salads, apps, steaks, pasta, chicken, fish and seafood. We were in Webster so decided to yelp a lunch place found this cafe. It's classic American breakfast and lunch food. The place is located in a quiet part and is very cozy. The owner is very friendly. My veggie burger and my partner's Swiss and mushroom burger were good. Mimosa I ordered was very creamy, which I enjoyed. However, our server was less than optimum. She forgot to get my mimosa order in so I had to ask the owner for it. She went to ask for Soup of the day and came back and forgot to ask for it. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day or more training was needed. I think they would benefit by training her more. Overall a quiet place for Sunday brunch. read more

It was my first trip to Mama Lor's since it came under new ownership and here's the review...So parking was a tad tight for brunch but luckily a spot opened up and we made our way in...I gave our name to be put on the waiting list and thought we would get a brew while we waited...Here's where things got funky...We waited over 15 minutes for a table and no one time did anyone approach us while we waited at the bar...There's 3 pints that didn't get sold...Anyway we finally got our table and we ordered three pints (we would have had three more at the bar, anyway)...So the food arrived and it was well prepared and generous portions to boot...We enjoyed the same meal which was a Cuban on French bread with fries...We couldn't finish the meal and we all took half home...The damage was minimal at $54.00 with a tip of $10.00...Give them a try sometime... read more

Went specifically on Saturday 10/22 to get prime rib. The rib was great. It came with mashed potatoes, when I asked for gravy and Au Jus, it was $2 extra. The gravy was a Different flavor that I did not care for at all. I did tell the server and she said she was sorry, so I ate potatoes plain. My wife ordered spaghetti and meatballs, the spaghetti sauce again was more savory than we like. Artichoke French appetizer was excellent and a good helping. read more

Super cute place on the edge of Webster/Ontario. They have a self serve coffee station where you can grab coffee while you're waiting for a table, genuis!!! I had a pancake special, pineapple upside down it was good, the pancakes were different, very fluffy maybe too fluffy if that makes any kind of sense lol! I've been to Mama Lors twice now in a few months, and the breakfast is amazing. The first time, I chose a spinach artichoke omelette, and it was perfect. The home fries are awesome here, and the decor, ambiance, and cleanliness of this restaurant is great. The second time I went, I ordered a veggie omelette with sausage on the side, and this also did not disappoint. The specials always look amazing when I'm there, though I haven't tried any specials yet. I would definitely recommend this place, and look forward to going back! read more

Had an excellent breakfast here this morning. Quite popular, had to wait 10-15 minutes for a table for two. We were invited to self serve ourselves coffee while waiting, good coffee and an instant cappuccino machine (mix type). Once seated, we were quickly greeted by our server and given menus. My lady decided on a loaded potato pancake ( loaded with bacon and cheese) while I opted for the 104 Pothole ( scrambled eggs served over home fries and smothered in sausage gravy). Went there last Tuesday. The entire restaurant smelled like the inside of a very dirty restroom. Even with masks on the smell was atrocious. It was not acknowledged ("sorry for the smell we had a plumbing issue rhsts been resolved" would have gone a long way). Food was fine. No better or worse than a $15 burger anywhere else. I am solely focused on diner comparison, not top notch restaurants. After seeing a good reviews on this cafe's.. I decided to give this one a try. I thought it was by far the best one of all diners Ive tried. Wait, I normally dont like diners. So it was a big of a deal!! I had their special- a hot wrap with chicken, spinach, and all other goodies. I could only eat a half of it. I am stuffed. Macaroni salad was good, too. My friend had a lumberjack for lunch. french toast, sausage, bacon, home fries, and eggs. It was good! We enjoyed crispy home fries. It was not oily or soft. It was perfection. The only thing I think that needs some improvement is the design of menu and its decor. It was difficult for me to decide which meal I would like to try after looking at about 5 pages. We really wanted to try Mama Lor's because of all of the great reviews we've seen! It was a cute space and nice atmosphere. The food was good - I had hash and eggs and I love the seasoning on the spuds! My husband had a meat lover omelet and we split blueberry pancakes. Everything tasted great and we took some home because we were so full! Unfortunately our server was very abrupt and only stopped once, and that was to drop off our check (another waitress brought our food). She charged us for an extra soda and it was difficult to get her attention to ask for it to be taken off the bill and for a togo box. Overall it was great food but the service was "meh."
