This a a review of their appetizer selection and quality. I'm a big fan of supporting local and this restaurant has a great chicken special dish. However I just ordered their egg rolls and calamari. (The calamari was recommended by the waitress on the phone since the selection was limited and I was looking for a recommendation). $20 later for a tiny portion of "Italian" egg rolls and tiny portion of calamari. Quality was awful. Hopefully they improve their selection range and quality. Until then do not order any appetizers. read more

A friend and I ate at Mama Louise several nights ago (10/24). I have eaten here before but this time I got the Shrimp Fettuccini with Pesto. The house special Chicken Fraise is outstanding but this time got a different dish. Their service was crisp, the soup and salad were fine with the Fettuccini having great flavor. You will be hard pressed to find any restaurant in Denver that provides this quality and service, particularly for such reasonable prices. Nice selection & prices on the wine too. Food is ok but charging 6% if I use a credit card? It's not that the 6% shouldn't be there, it's that you don't get a discount for paying with cash. When you see the prices, you will see they are equal or higher than other restaurants that DONT SURCHARGE. Their (cash) prices are high. Mama Louise was highly recommended by a friend. I had the Chicken Francaise. The dinner started with soup followed by a very fresh salad and then the entree. The meal was amazing and the service outstanding. I was able to meet the owner. He was very polite and it was quite obvious he has a lot of pride when it comes to his restaurant. We had dinner and I Was really disappointed, starting for the food quality. We started with Bruschettas they were so-so, not authentic One, microwave food, and too much grease..Mozzarella are frozen, and the Ravioli were bad. Employee does not let us finish the plate and swing by more that 10 time trying to tale the plate out of the table. We felt like they want to kick us out. I hadn't been here in a very long time, so I stopped in for takeout. They still have the really nice patio, so eat out there while the weather is good. The menu is pretty much what it has been, and that's a good thing - plenty of good choices there. You get soup (minestrone generally), salad (nothing fancy, just the basics) and a couple of garlic knots with your entree, so it's definitely a full meal. I'd say 3.5 stars overall, but I'm bumping it up to 4 because of the plaque next to the cashier/checkout window that has the growing list of their annual fantasy football league champions. Good to see that this is still going on, and hopefully that means the staff is staying and they have been able to keep everyone on board through the pandemic. This is a nice neighborhood place and I hope it stays around for a good long while. read more

Well I am back in town for training, and one of the stops that was a must, Mama Louise!!!!! Today I brought two more girlfriends with us to this restaurant, and they thought it was so amazing. I have uploaded pictures of my dinner for all to enjoy. If you are ever in town, you will not regret enjoying one amazing dinner here. Now let's talk a lil about the owners and staff. The owners are two very beautiful people inside and out. They are so genuine and very personable. They came and talked to us at our table. This place is seriously underrated. The food is AMAZING and the staff is really nice. From the outside, it looks like just another pizza place but instead is nice and the patio has a great setup. We went on a Friday night, didn't need a reservation and even took our small child and it wasn't a problem. They had live (yet soothing) music and we we got plenty for our money. 10/10!! read more

This place was across from my work place and I finally went and got a calzone and wow was it good! They stuffed that thing with so much cheese and meats it was definitely worth the money. It was a giant calzone too and there is no way one person could eat it. It was always packed there every night too and clearly for good reason. The owner is a super nice guy as well and takes care of the restaurant and the staff is amazing too. The place always smells amazing and I have heard nothing but great things from everyone else that has been there. I definitely will be coming back here because it's amazing! read more

Mama Louise is a solid 4 stars. Yelp has encouraged my husband and I to expand our horizons when it comes to our local restaurants. So when we wanted to eat out tonight we glanced at where we hadn't gone. Mama Lousie is in the corner of a strip mall off Orchard and Parker. It is a small space, but as you walk in you are wrapped up in its charm. Red & White checkered table clothes? Check! Dean Martin martin music wafting through the dining room? Check! Italian landscape photos? Check! We sat down and enjoyed excellent service from appetizer to entree. All entrees come with minestrone soup and a house salad (plus a garlic knot). All the food was fresh and homemade (maybe not my rigatoni noodles, but all else). The table near us also got a pizza that looked heavenly too. For the most part, we enjoyed dining at Mama Louise Italian Restaurant. We were a bit surprised at their prices but later learned we were misinformed by other online websites. And while their prices were a bit high, this was offset by what's included. The entrees include soup, salad and fresh garlic knots. You'll not leave hungry but likely with a container of leftovers. Service was also good. Interestingly, my Italian wife wasn't fond of her rigatoni's marinara sauce but liked my Chicken Franchaise and fettuccine. I thought the marinara was good so a quick switch worked out fine. Frankly, we drove a half-hour or so to try the Franchaise and experience something new. If we were in the area again, we might stop by again to try some other dishes. Unfortunately, there are probably a couple dozen Italian restaurants much closer to us. However, if you're near Parker and Orchard Roads in Centennial, give them a try when you're in the mood for Italian cuisine. read more

I enjoyed dinner here. I think one of my favorite things is that it wasn't loud and was a relaxed yet very nice place. It has an old-school Tuscan Italian vibe to it. The $5 house wine isn't worth it, worse than you'd think for $5. But it did it's job. I LOVE that all entrees come with soup and salad. It would've been nice to have known what kind of soup beforehand though. I got the eggplant rollatine to mix it up. Usually I'm not an eggplant fan, but this was fun to eat. The spaghetti was cooked perfectly. My mom got the half ravioli and half spaghetti with meatball. The spaghetti that came with hers with the homemade thick noodle. She enjoyed her meal. Our complaint was the same - the sauce was a bit too sweet for our liking. It almost tasted like foo much sugar was added in. The garlic knots were buttery and tasty. The service was attentive but a tad slow for the bill. It's a cute spot in a strip mall with big portions and a good atmosphere! read more

I wanted to try someplace "new" for lunch. Technically, I had been to this place once before (almost 10 years ago). I had been there with a group for dinner, and recalled it as being pretty good. The lunch sandwiches here come with a small bag of Lay's potato chips, and as others mentioned, this is a pretty uninspired offering. I went ahead and added a dinner salad to my meal. It was extremely basic. A base of iceberg lettuce (with one darker leaf) a slice of tomato, a pinch of shredded carrot, and one small slice of pepperoni. I had this with Italian dressing on the side. If you did a web search for a picture of a generic dinner salad, this would be it. After perusing the other reviews, I decided to try the "Old Fashioned Italian Grinder" sandwich. I was not happy with it at all. It was described on the menu as thinly sliced meatballs and sausage with marinara and cheese. Instead the meatballs and sausage were basically crumbled meat paste stewed with marinara. I described it to my waiter as trying to eat a "spaghetti sauce sandwich". He quickly offered to bring me something else and suggested the Meatball Sandwich or the Chicken Parm Sandwich. I went with the Meatball. Although they cut up the meatballs, there were big enough chunks to provide some texture. The flavor of the meatballs was decent, but not great. They were a bit bland and somewhat too soft. They also had (in my opinion) put too much marinara on the sandwich. The bread was okay, but the excess sauce made it very soggy. Service was good and prices were reasonable. If I had really enjoyed anything I had eaten this would be a 3-star review. I am very appreciative that they quickly made me a new sandwich (no questions asked). I would be willing to come back to try the pasta. read more

We have gone here a few times. The last visit was, by far, the worst. My daughter had a late concert. I'll just be honest, and admit, I did not want to really go out. However, she picked this place. We arrived around 7:30. We walked in and the hostest told us, "just so you know, we close at 8:00." I wanted to leave then. My husband insisted on staying. 22 dollar spaghetti? A sign that says ' we don't seat incomplete parties? Being told to leave as we arrive? Yeah, I wanted to leave. They got at least 150 bucks for this sorry excuse for a restaurant. I recommend Wood Paddle or Massimos. Mama Louise's is an overpriced place full of rude people. I will not go there again. Also, if you want to close at 730, just close at 730. What a joke. read more

After many many years of being absent (ignoring) finally decided to check out this joint. What turned me off last time (over 5 years ago) was serving of soup that was not even cooked. on this visit, we were greeted by the owner and offered us the best table in the restaurant. Right next to the portrait of mama Louis. You know how other restaurants try to reserve 4 seaters for 4 and give tiny ones for two. Not him. Giving extra kudo for that! Fast forward, my salad was so so. Just plain looking one. chopped romaine lettuce kind. i guess better than the ice-burg or kinds you get premixed at local grocers. pasta soup was ok too. definitely homemade flavors. since we ordered garlic bread deluxe (ones with melted cheese), didn't get the garlic knots but was still looking forward to it. i ordered the linguine with clams and when i got the plate, it was kinda disappointing. I was expecting deep dish with lots of pasta, lots of actual shelled clams but came out on shallow dish with less of noodles and definitely no shelled clams. Actual menu description says tender chopped clams and can't argue about that. My expectation was quite different but it was still good. If I were to go back, leave out the starters, and definitely not order egg plant parmigiana and linguine with clams. read more

My food was mediocre. Minestrone was watery with very little ingredients. Italian restaurant with 3 choices of wine. Really? I left my earring and the hostess found it and put it away for me but not in plain sight. I was helping to find it at the hostess stand when the owner accosted me and insulted me and said no one knows where it is. The busboy knew exactly where it was hiding in a basket with some change on a shelf. The owner started basically screaming at me and threw me out telling me to never come back and not to have anyone else I know come either. We had a gift certificate here, a gift from our neighbors. We live about half a mile away but had never tried it. It was bustling when we got there! We were taken care of from the start, the kind servers were constantly refilling our drink and asking if we were ok. They were on it! 2 stars because the busser was awesome. Came with family in town and it was a bit awkward as they tried to split us on to separate tables for 8. No big deal, the manager in the yellow shirt eventually obliged and even helped us move the tables. Now comes our server. Older gentleman with glasses. We Ordered two bottles of wine to share and he came back forgetting which one. No big deal but he comes back with two glasses. I remind him I wanted two bottles and he says I didn't order them. He does come back with the correct two bottles but only three glasses and an attitude. Maybe he's having a bad day I don't know. Appetizers and salad came out quick enough and cleared quickly by an attentive support staff. I joked to one he should be serving. Calamari is like the fish sticks of calamari, but actually pretty good. Dressing, on point. Our entrees were decent but nothing special for the price tag. Portions smaller but the coursed soup and salad make up for it. If that's all I give em 4 stars and cut the guy a break. I don't know if it was the grumpiness about splitting the check, the harsh coaching about how we "should have let him know" (he brought the check without us having the opportunity to ask). But it was the first time I ever in my life questioned an auto gratuity. Moments later I'm doing the math in my head and even then realized It wasn't adding up. Yes, the manager refunded me the amount in question when I pointed it out, a feat that is more straightforward with an itemized receipt... but I still have to shave off a few stars. My wife and I went to this restaurant last night for dinner when we got to the restaurant we were promptly seated a young girl came to our table and asked if we wanted water she wasn't old enough to serve wine so at some point waiter came over and took our wine order got us wine dinner came out it was still was OK I'm gonna wasn't great dinner was it wasn't bad in anyway towards the end of the meal I mean every time you put a plate a soup bowl salad plate anything down I need it felt like the The bus girl would be been hovering over you and it felt like she was just wanting to get you done and get you out when dinner was done I mean we barely put our forks down and she had cleared the whole table and it wasn't two minutes later is it the waiter comes over and traps to check on the table looks like it felt like they wanted us out and that's not why we went there and based on their experience I won't go back read more

Update! We returned for takeout tonight and we waited 45 minutes for an order which, was suppose to take 15 minutes. We had to ask the Hostess "what happened to our order?" The Hostess replied "they dropped your food and are remaking the dish." Why couldn't the Hostess tell us they had an issue if, this is in fact what happened to our meal! Also, their FACEBOOK page has different prices (lower) than their in-house menu. When, I asked the Owner why the difference in menus. All he said, "Facebook is wrong!"
