Just a quick update. Venturing forth a bit more & trying to hit some of the locally owned restaurants vs chains. I particularly like this little family owned place with friendly service, generous portions and excellent food. It's still my family's favorite place to go. Mama would be proud. We ordered the following: Calamari - would not order again, but not bad. Sausage and Peppers - wow, amazing. Chicken Franchaise - crispy lemon chicken with fettuccine Alfredo, yum! Spumoni - nummy! Tiramisu - eh, just ok. I prefer to go to the Greek bakery. Cheesecake - yes yes yes, when grandma comes to town, we are going just so she can have some. Each entree was served with a light pasta soup and a house salad, but acceptable. The patio is a beautiful area shaded by large canopies and a luscious tree to the western setting sun. Friday night there was a talented older gentlemen playing the accordion. It was romantic and beautiful. Beer and wine are offered. Lambrusco and Roscato were sweet and delicious. We will go back. read more

The only reason I give 2 stars, not one, is because their fettuccine alfredo was good. I ordered chicken francese. Take a look at the photo I took right after it was delivered. It was a small fried chicken breaded with Italian bread crumbs. They put one lemon on top. NO sauce! You do not use Italian bread crumbs in any chicken francese recipe. The sauce is what constitutes the "francese" label. There was no sauce. I paid $17 for this mini fried chicken. Very disappointed. read more

How have I lived here my whole life and never been here?? Craving some Italian, I came in to order some chicken Parmesan and found my new favorite restaurant. The smell when we walked in was delicious- fresh bread and something very homey, like I just walked into my grandma's house. The owners greeted us warmly, and when we told them it was our first time they suggested the chicken franchaise and brought us the Italian egg rolls as a starter. So good! Before the main course they brought out soup that had the most homemade taste, it was so lovely. When the main courses came we were delighted, the chicken was breaded perfectly and we had our 2 and 4 year old with us and they devoured the mussels my husband had ordered and most of the chicken franchaise. A win! We left with desserts to go and big smiles on everyone's faces, and will definitely be back! read more

This is a place where if you want REALLY good Italian food, go here! Small and intimate, with that family feel to it. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food was solid but the service was great. They have a handful of local highschool kids that were seriously all over it tonight in the house! Never an empty glass, the second a dish was emptied it was immediately bussed, not a straw wrapper in sight! Seriously these kids were fantastic and very personable to go with their work ethic. The food was goodish. Hubs had the Chicken Franchaise and really enjoyed it, said he would definitely order the same meal again. Daughter had the lobster ravioli and didn't care for it unfortunately. She wasn't impressed with the flavor or the portion size. (4 ravioli) I had the linguini and clams and it had a great balance of white wine, lemon and garlic with a hint of pepper flakes to give it a pop of heat. The entrees all come with garlic knots, soup and salad. Garlic knots were pretty good (not Grammies Goodies good but good) fresh baked and tasty. Salad... meh it was ok dressings at the table were all a bit sweet which was sorta odd for ranch and Italian and some of the greens were almost on the wilted side on my plate but nobody else. The minestrone soup is just ok if you add salt pepper and parm but without is pretty bland. So the complimentary extras were literally just ok. Would NOT recommend. If you'd like to get Covid, please enjoy a dinner from rude, condescending servers. Even with a mask mandate in the county, this restaurant feels they are above the law and no one serving you in this tiny space will wear a mask. If you'd like to be berated and yelled at in front of the entire restaurant, ask your server to wear a mask. Apparently, they don't care about their customers. Ok just tried this place and it is fantastic family owned and they care. The good is delicious as you may expect and the care of prepared at time of ordering is phenomenal. I don't actually want to tell anyone. It is that good. They prepared gluten free for us in a few minutes and it was one of the best two plates we have had in Denver fir a long time! First time eating here and will try again. The food was really good. The service needs some work. I had the spinach calzone and my son the shrimp linguini pesto. Again, food was very good. They use a tag team approach which comes across a bit odd. There were three tables on this Slow Monday night. They filled our drinks When they were have full but took away half full glasses as they cleared the table before the bill had been presented. They even made a special trip to remove our paper place mats - again before the bill was paid. Felt like they wanted us out. It wasn't late either. Service has always been above average speedy. They work each table in teams of 3-4 servers. The meal courses come perfectly timed. We love the atmosphere and listening to the accordion player on the patio. Wine list is not extensive but has a good options and is fairly priced for a restaurant. Dinner entree prices include both salad and minestrone. The lemon chicken house special is amazing. Love this place. read more

I'm not going to talk shit about the food but the service totally sucked. We ordered 2 bottles of wine and the guy came out with 2 glasses. Honest mistake but he gave us a hard time about it. I'm in the service industry so you would figure if we were buying bottles instead of glasses that we were there to spend money. He tried to rush us to order our food saying the kitchen closes soon. It was a little after 7pm and the restaurant closes at 8:30. Then when it came time for us to pay we were a table of 10 and wanted to divide the check 4 ways he gave us shit about that and then over charged us. read more

This place use to be in the DTC area, use to go there for lunch. It was always good. While in the neighborhood, I saw it. I have to say, it was better than ever. We'd been on the lookout for a good old fashioned local Italian place, and had high hopes based on other reviews. Unfortunately, we were really let down. The garlic knots were doughy and sadly ungarlicky, the salad was a pile of iceberg with a few sad vegetable chunks, and the minestrone soup was watery and lacked flavor. The eggplant parmigiana and lasagna were heavy on the tomato paste but otherwise bland, and seemed overcooked. The overall taste was of acceptable cafeteria Italian food. We were very disappointed, especially considering how pricey it was for such unappetizing food. read more

I've been here twice. Once for an early dinner around 5 and another later dinner around 7:00. The service for the day we went at 5:00 was wonderful and the food was so great! The day we went at 7:00 started off OK, but the gap between salad and our main dish coming out was quite a bit. We noticed others around us waiting a while too, and some even asked for theirs to go. I'd say, if you want delicious homemade Italian food, it's worth the wait. The house special with the lemon chicken is the must order item! I think about it often. Wow! What assholes. I came in with my service dog in training and got drilled at the door immediately. The hostess and the manager both accosted me demanding license, registration, etc for a service dog. I asked them what license is there for a SD. I told them there there is no such thing as licenses and registrations or any other ID or paperwork from the Department of Justice/ADA. He said they were really coming down on them about dogs in the restaurant. If it wasn't raining he would put us on the patio. I told him the ADA, nor any police department or health department, etc would fine him for letting a SD in your establishment. I was in a diabetic episode with a very low blood sugar and getting sick, my SD was alerting to me. I couldn't fight him so we left. What they did is ILLEGAL and so wrong on many levels. I hope that other SD handlers will inundate them with SD teams in his restaurant, then leave. I hope he gets fined big time by the ADA. I'm sick of people mistreating me because I am disabled. If you have any morals or empathy, Do NOT give these haters your business! read more

Fantastic food, great ingredients, real Italian recipes and done perfectly. A gem of a place in the middle of suburbia. It's a shame that so many of their customers don't know how good it is! This used to be one of our favorite restaurants we went here often the Italian food was wonderful tasted like New York Italian food this restaurant has gone down in the toilet the food is terrible the sign outside says open but they're not open we have tried several times there's a big sign that says open dine in or out and it's never open then on the door it says hours are 4 to 8 I feel bad for this restaurant it used to be a favorite of so many people and now nobody wants to go there anymore read more

New Years eve meal here tonight. What makes this restaurant so special is the service. The meals start with a soup and just as you finish, your bowl is picked up and within seconds your salad is placed in front of you. Your hot meal, cooked to perfection is served within minutes of your completion of the salad. Their service rivals the restaurants of Switzerland. This cozy little restaurant, will remind you of a European eatery. The wait staff patrol the restaurant picking up every empty plate, glass and even the wrapper on our utensils. Awesome from the wine and calamari appetizer down to the cheesecake. Throughout our family dinner we poured glass after glass of a red Italian import. The calamari was crisp yet light, and the cheesy bread cheesy and gooey. The minestrone soup and the salad are very understated, but they are starters to your entree. A few of us ordered the fettuccine with clams and mussels in the red sauce (also available in a white sauce). The mussels and clams were perfectly paired and the sauce was flavorful without being too bold nor sweet. Others raved about the chicken parmigiana and homemade cannolis. I didn't quite care for the tiramisu, reminds me of a thick cookie that was left in a cup of coffee overnight (yet this is was tiramisu is, I was hoping for hidden chocolate). Not a fan of cheesecake, I was offered a bite. I left the table with dessert envy. Smooth, creamy, sweet......*droool* I'm crossing my fingers that we'll be back here next year for the annual papa dinner. read more

Recommendation: A little family run Italian Restaurant with a few gems on the menu. Food: Let me start off by saying this isn't gourmet Italian - it's family Italian style food. Nothing that comes out of the kitchen is fancy, but they do have their meatballs down to a science. In fact my wife said that the meatball sandwich here is her #1 favorite thing to eat in all the world outside of dessert. Personally, I go for the grinder sandwich that adds in some nice spicy Italian sausage. The pizzas and calzones are good too. Even the lasagna was pretty tasty - especially when you throw in their fresh garlic knots. My only complaint is that I wish I had more options to go with the lunch time sandwiches - like a nice fresh Italian pasta salad instead of a bag of Lay's potato chips. Service: They have traditional table side service from the waitstaff and it's always the same couple of people. The owner is super friendly and the service is very attentive - especially at lunch. Price: Prices are so low here that I feel too guilty to use the coupons we get in the mail. My wife and I can eat lunch here for under $15 before the tip. Ambiance: The atmosphere is a mix between gangsta Italian and old country Italian. There are some Soprano's related items hanging on the walls along with your typical Italian themed decor. The two TVs in the place air Food Network and ESPN. It's a comfortable atmosphere, but don't expect to impress anyone by taking them here. Mama Louise is in a small strip mall off of Orachard and Parker Rd. Blink and you'll miss it! The inside is small and cozy and has a very romantic atmosphere. There's a water fountain right when you walk in and cute statues are strewn throughout the restaurant. The food was excellent. Every entree comes with a bowl of soup, a salad, and a garlic knot. It really was almost too much food. I had my staple - house spaghetti with meatballs - and it was most excellent. The service was extremely good as well. I love that this quaint little restaurant has been around in Aurora for so many years, but I feel like the changes have been higher prices and smaller portions.
