Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Filling

I used to frequent this location when it was the Citron Bistro. Zane's has since changed owners and cuisines, the ambiance, however, remains the same. The servers really make this place as ours, in particular, was very kind, helped us to order the exact right thing based on our tastes and preferences. The menu has so many choices and tastes to offer, it was hard to pick from. They offer a great happy hour menu as well for both drinks and food. I ordered the Rossa Verde salad and was not disappointed. The flavors of the peppers, feta, and spices on the chicken were all delicious-it was a very good concoction of flavors! Breadsticks were also ordered to split with my party. They were a little under done to be honest. Finish the meal off, we tried a slice of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting- a fine way to complete the meal. It was a nice treat to return to an old stomping ground.

Not very hungry and we had some time to kill so, we popped in for a bite. Wings and fried ravioli. The wings were ok. They were just overcooked and very crusty. The ravioli could have used a different cheese more seasoning. Happy hour till 6pm with various items is a plus

Go for the happy hour, stay for the comforting no frills decor and friendly service. The stuffed mushrooms were to die for. We also got bruschetta and fried ravioli which were really great too. The wings is something that was suggested to us by the waitress but honestly none of us like them much. I cannot wait to go back and have more mushrooms. 5/5 stars for this happy hour spot!

This place is the definition of quantity not quality when it comes to the food. I just don't have words with how average the food was. It was overwhelmingly average. Service was fine, I went in around 6:30 so it wasn't too busy. I got the chicken parm, the breading that the chicken was fried and tasted weird, like the oil they used was old. The breading had little seasoning. The marinara sauce was very subpar. I also ordered an Italian soda which had whipped cream in it, so it was more like a cream soda. Which I wasn't expecting, but it was good. I also overheard from the next table that the pizza was also sub par. I think the only positive thing I heard was from a table of senior citizens that were over the age of 70. I'm sure their taste buds were not so good. I'm pretty sure people go there just for the happy hour, they have pretty good deals there. They have a good alcohol and wine selection.

I came here for lunch with my family and we all got the "pick two" special. They served us a large portion of breadsticks with marinara sauce. My eggplant parm was a bit tough, but the Greek salad was delicious. Our server was very attentive. The atmosphere is interesting. When you first come in, it looks like a bar, but the back seating area is nice. The lunch special is a great deal. My daughter took home over half her meal. Overall good food, but nothing stood out as exceptional.

Highly recommended Zane's Italian Bistro. The service and atmosphere is amazing. And the food is even better! Will be back for sure

We went here on Friday 2/13 to celebrate a low key Valentine's Day as my husband was working the following day. They have a GREAT happy hour menu which we took full advantage of! We started off with the fried ravioli and burrata as our apps and really enjoyed both, especially the asparagus bits in the burrata. For our meals, I got the shrimp scampi which was so good, the shrimp was cooked perfectly! My husband then made more use of the happy hour menu by ordering the meatball boat, the chicken wings, and the mussels which was a ton of food and way more than he/we needed. The wings and mussels were super good but we both just thought the meatballs were okay, they had a sweet and smoky flavor to them which we thought was kind of odd, but that was our only complaint. We were both really pleasantly surprised on the portions, especially the happy hour deals. Our server was also wonderful, I wish I remembered his name.

Came here to catch up with a few girl friends on a Tuesday night. I did make a reservation, but I think on a weekday if you walk in without a reservation that might work too. The decor is lovely! They went above and beyond to decorate for Christmas. Great spot to take a holiday picture. Our waiter David was great! Super attentive and on top of everything. He even split a salad that we wanted to share without us asking and brought over some yummy bread sticks. This is the type of place you can laugh without feeling too loud. It is much larger inside than anticipated. The food was also good. I did not love the stuffed shells, but it was okay. I think next time that I come back I would like to try something different. They have a great variety of items on the menu. This is a great spot for a family dinner. Overall 4.5/5 stars!

I know this is not the best Italian restaurant in the Denver area but they truly have my support. They used to be located near Belleview and I-25 (ish) but ever since the predecessor restaurant (Citron) closed, they've moved to the now location and this was the game changer for me. You know why? It's now a walking distance! No renovation from the old Citron. They could use some upgrades to be frank but whenever I go here, it's always crowded. People in the Hampden South neighborhood must love this place especially the older generations (opps, I guess I fall into that age range which I hate to admit!!) On a beautiful early evening yesterday (Sunday), my date and I went here for a meal at around 5pm. Most of the tables were taken so the only options were those high tables. The bar was loud with people cheering for their favorite teams on TV (a football game was on.) We got one of the two-person high tables all the way to the end of the bar where there was a wedding reception in the divided section which we could see between the Christmas decorations. They were much quieter than the people cheering for their favorite team (LOL. Goodness, this is not a sports bar for cry out loud!!!) He ordered one of the Calzone; I got me the North Atlantic Salmon with a bed of pasta. He got an IPA; I got me a glass of some Italian Cabernet Sauvignon. He didn't care so much for his Calzone but I enjoyed my Salmon plate. It was a good portion. The salmon was a good size; the pasta underneath was more than plenty. The seasoning was done well where nothing was too salty. But most of all, our waiter, Kevin was quite impressive with almost over-the-top attentiveness (LOL!) He kept checking up on us more than enough (better than less or none, right?) He was also quite a gentleman; his professionalism was impeccable. Our meals were big. We were so full where he couldn't even have a second round of beer (which he usually does.) And no dessert for us either. Like I said, if you are looking for a superb Italian restaurant you wouldn't pick this place especially if you're looking to spend some special occasion (some romantic atmosphere in mind.) But I must say that I appreciate Zane's being so within my reach. I can call this place "my neighborhood Italian restaurant"; I can count on them.

Came back to Denver for a visit and tried out Zanes on yosemite. Excellent service. Good temp food. Was a little on salty side this the 4 star but would be more like a 4.8. Atmosphere was vibrant. Everything was just great. Would still go back regardless of saltiness.

My Chicken Parmesan may have been the best I have ever eaten. However, the service obliterated an otherwise excellent meal. Many reviews describe Bettola as a hidden gem with warm, attentive service. That makes our treatment even harder to understand. I waited tables years ago, so I am extremely lenient with waitstaff. I know how hard they work and what they endure. Do you know how rude and dismissive a waiter must be for me to write a one-star review? VERY. I do not know his name. He appeared to be serving most, perhaps all, of this small restaurant. That is a tremendous workload, and slow service alone would not have upset me. Maybe he was having a terrible day. Maybe he was in pain. I truly do not know. But he seemed friendly with many other customers while treating us with indifference. He was inattentive, and dismissive, and appeared entirely comfortable behaving that way. Why were we treated differently? Was it because we were older? Was it because I am Black? I sincerely hope neither was true, but his conduct left me asking those questions. Whatever you are going through, every guest deserves your best. We were kind and respectful. Even a difficult guest deserves basic dignity because a waiter has no idea what that person may have endured that day, either. Respect must travel in both directions. Always. Our party divided the check. I don't know what my friends left him, but I still left a 25% tip. I did that because I remember the work and because countless waiters give their guests outstanding service every day. The kitchen produced a remarkable meal. The Chicken Parmesan alone could bring me back. But excellent food cannot erase treatment that makes guests feel unwelcome. Bettola deserved better representation. We deserved better treatment. Everyone does. Do your job, treat every guest with dignity and respect, and do your job well, or quit, man.

One of the highlights is their charcuterie boards - we ordered one last time and it was packed full of goodies: meats, cheeses, cornichons, olives, nuts, fruit, etc. Really well thought out. We did consider coming back here recently for our friend's birthday but apparently if you try to make a reservation for over 6 people you have to PAY per person - that's a little ludicrous. I understand a party of 50 and charging some fee, but to charge for a small party is a way to not get party business. It was plenty of food and 2 of us brought home leftovers from our entrees. I had an appetizer of Whipped Ricotta Crostini (Truffle Honey, Ciabatta Baguette)--the ricotta and crostini were delicious, but the topping with garlic seemed an off note, and I didn't care for that. Entree was Pasta Primavera. The sauce was perfect, vegetables heavy on zucchini (which I love) and fresh peas. Dessert was a pistachio cannoli - the pistachio was ice cream, and whipped cream was served too. It was fairly small, but I would not have wanted it any larger! It's my birthday, so they added a candle. When I go again, I want to try their Pinzi, thin-crust style pizza. I think the flavors are pretty standard for something that's "upscale," with brussel sprout shavings, pear slices, and other things to spice up the texture/flavors. However, the dressing was just so light that it was hard to tell that it provided any flavor to it. We also got the Fig and Pig pizza which was a table favorite. The prosciutto balanced pretty well with the fig jam and fit perfectly in a bite while on the flatbread. It's a very cute establishment with fairy lights around, but all of the waiters we encountered were awkward in their own way. Our first guy would awkwardly bumble around us and get very close to refill our waters, and the second guy took away one of our plates without asking if we were done and the person was still clearly finishing off her food. Overall, not bad, but service could be slightly improved.
