Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Filling

I used to frequent this location when it was the Citron Bistro. Zane's has since changed owners and cuisines, the ambiance, however, remains the same. The servers really make this place as ours, in particular, was very kind, helped us to order the exact right thing based on our tastes and preferences. The menu has so many choices and tastes to offer, it was hard to pick from. They offer a great happy hour menu as well for both drinks and food. I ordered the Rossa Verde salad and was not disappointed. The flavors of the peppers, feta, and spices on the chicken were all delicious-it was a very good concoction of flavors! Breadsticks were also ordered to split with my party. They were a little under done to be honest. Finish the meal off, we tried a slice of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting- a fine way to complete the meal. It was a nice treat to return to an old stomping ground.

Not very hungry and we had some time to kill so, we popped in for a bite. Wings and fried ravioli. The wings were ok. They were just overcooked and very crusty. The ravioli could have used a different cheese more seasoning. Happy hour till 6pm with various items is a plus

Go for the happy hour, stay for the comforting no frills decor and friendly service. The stuffed mushrooms were to die for. We also got bruschetta and fried ravioli which were really great too. The wings is something that was suggested to us by the waitress but honestly none of us like them much. I cannot wait to go back and have more mushrooms. 5/5 stars for this happy hour spot!

Highly recommended Zane's Italian Bistro. The service and atmosphere is amazing. And the food is even better! Will be back for sure

I came here for lunch with my family and we all got the "pick two" special. They served us a large portion of breadsticks with marinara sauce. My eggplant parm was a bit tough, but the Greek salad was delicious. Our server was very attentive. The atmosphere is interesting. When you first come in, it looks like a bar, but the back seating area is nice. The lunch special is a great deal. My daughter took home over half her meal. Overall good food, but nothing stood out as exceptional.

We went here on Friday 2/13 to celebrate a low key Valentine's Day as my husband was working the following day. They have a GREAT happy hour menu which we took full advantage of! We started off with the fried ravioli and burrata as our apps and really enjoyed both, especially the asparagus bits in the burrata. For our meals, I got the shrimp scampi which was so good, the shrimp was cooked perfectly! My husband then made more use of the happy hour menu by ordering the meatball boat, the chicken wings, and the mussels which was a ton of food and way more than he/we needed. The wings and mussels were super good but we both just thought the meatballs were okay, they had a sweet and smoky flavor to them which we thought was kind of odd, but that was our only complaint. We were both really pleasantly surprised on the portions, especially the happy hour deals. Our server was also wonderful, I wish I remembered his name.

Came here to catch up with a few girl friends on a Tuesday night. I did make a reservation, but I think on a weekday if you walk in without a reservation that might work too. The decor is lovely! They went above and beyond to decorate for Christmas. Great spot to take a holiday picture. Our waiter David was great! Super attentive and on top of everything. He even split a salad that we wanted to share without us asking and brought over some yummy bread sticks. This is the type of place you can laugh without feeling too loud. It is much larger inside than anticipated. The food was also good. I did not love the stuffed shells, but it was okay. I think next time that I come back I would like to try something different. They have a great variety of items on the menu. This is a great spot for a family dinner. Overall 4.5/5 stars!

I know this is not the best Italian restaurant in the Denver area but they truly have my support. They used to be located near Belleview and I-25 (ish) but ever since the predecessor restaurant (Citron) closed, they've moved to the now location and this was the game changer for me. You know why? It's now a walking distance! No renovation from the old Citron. They could use some upgrades to be frank but whenever I go here, it's always crowded. People in the Hampden South neighborhood must love this place especially the older generations (opps, I guess I fall into that age range which I hate to admit!!) On a beautiful early evening yesterday (Sunday), my date and I went here for a meal at around 5pm. Most of the tables were taken so the only options were those high tables. The bar was loud with people cheering for their favorite teams on TV (a football game was on.) We got one of the two-person high tables all the way to the end of the bar where there was a wedding reception in the divided section which we could see between the Christmas decorations. They were much quieter than the people cheering for their favorite team (LOL. Goodness, this is not a sports bar for cry out loud!!!) He ordered one of the Calzone; I got me the North Atlantic Salmon with a bed of pasta. He got an IPA; I got me a glass of some Italian Cabernet Sauvignon. He didn't care so much for his Calzone but I enjoyed my Salmon plate. It was a good portion. The salmon was a good size; the pasta underneath was more than plenty. The seasoning was done well where nothing was too salty. But most of all, our waiter, Kevin was quite impressive with almost over-the-top attentiveness (LOL!) He kept checking up on us more than enough (better than less or none, right?) He was also quite a gentleman; his professionalism was impeccable. Our meals were big. We were so full where he couldn't even have a second round of beer (which he usually does.) And no dessert for us either. Like I said, if you are looking for a superb Italian restaurant you wouldn't pick this place especially if you're looking to spend some special occasion (some romantic atmosphere in mind.) But I must say that I appreciate Zane's being so within my reach. I can call this place "my neighborhood Italian restaurant"; I can count on them.

Our schedule meant takeout was the only option, and in hindsight, we timed it perfectly. We placed our order around 5:15p on a Saturday evening and learned they stop accepting takeout orders once the kitchen gets slammed. Given how small and intimate the restaurant is, that makes complete sense. The dining room only has a handful of tables, a cozy little bar, and a tucked-away patio that feels surprisingly secluded despite being in a strip mall (don't let this deter you). From start to finish, the ordering and pickup experience was seamless. The staff was warm and welcoming, our food was ready exactly when promised, and everyone we interacted with was genuinely friendly. We ordered the crispy eggplant along with the bucatini and meatballs. Overall, both dishes were enjoyable and clearly made with care. The crispy eggplant had a nice texture but could have used a bit more seasoning or punch of flavor. The bucatini was satisfying, though the meatballs leaned a little dry and lacked that flavor pop for my taste. The accompanying ricotta was creamy and delicious, but I was hoping for a more pronounced lemon note. Even with those small critiques, we really enjoyed our experience. Bettola has the kind of inviting neighborhood feel that makes you want to come back, and next time we'd love to dine in and soak up the atmosphere instead of taking our meal home.

There's thankfully parking in front and around the back in lots. One of the highlights is their charcuterie boards - we ordered one last time and it was packed full of goodies: meats, cheeses, cornichons, olives, nuts, fruit, etc. Really well thought out. We did consider coming back here recently for our friend's birthday but apparently if you try to make a reservation for over 6 people you have to PAY per person - that's a little ludicrous. I understand a party of 50 and charging some fee, but to charge for a small party is a way to not get party business. I would likely come back here as it is a nice central location and has a nice patio though.

The high top tables in the bar area were not cleared of the dirty dishes/plates etc. as the restaurant appeared to be understaffed at the time of our arrival. Hence, a young lady who greeted us upfront took us to the bar which we had issues with. We enjoyed looking at the menu for both food and drinks. Each side had selections of various kinds. Since we didn't need to eat, we turned our attention to the drink side where we noticed wine flights. Both red and white had had 4 different flights. And each flight comes with 3 varietals of wines. We both are more of red wine people. My daughter went with the Argentinian one; I went with the European Vacation. After comparing the two, our votes went to the European one. This definitely supersedes the South American wines in overall quality and tastes. Out of the 3 in the European one, the Spanish wine (Marques de Grinon, 'Caliza' 2020 vintage) stood out the most to us. After we had finished our flights my daughter ordered a full 6oz glass of it to fully immerse herself in the wonderful Espanol wine. The bartender, Jake, was peppy and pleasant to us. We felt bad though. He was busting his bottom to serve everyone in the bar area. Besides that young lady in the floor who occasionally came and went there was nobody else. Not sure if they were simply short staffed or they are always that way where they need to hire more staff, I hope the issue gets resolved soon. Hats off to Jake; no matter what, he was pleasant to everyone not forgetting to walk each one through the menu and promptly delivering their drinks once made.
