Came here on a Saturday around 11:30 am it wasn't too packed at all . This was my first time here and they have a lot of options for really good prices. The staff was super friendly and service was so quick!! I got the bakers dozen this food was so good! I have no complaints at all food came out cooked really good and fresh. My team ate here three times in our 4 day visit for breakfast. Food was great, service was great, prices were what you'd expect from a diner. The place has a nostalgic feeling and atmosphere. One thing that stuck out was the waitress' transparency about how long a food item would take and providing him toast while he waited. Yeah. Definitely go here for breakfast. read more

Well Mama Lous, I was your restaurant at about 20:15 AND I walk out this evening (Monday 6 Oct 25) and I wanted you to know why. I walked in the door at 7:40 pm, and waited until 7:45 to get seated. I was seated on the North wall in the no smoking section. The thin Dark haired girl with glasses finally got over to take my order at 4:45. A simple order of a bakers dozen. . 3 scrambled eggs, 3 strips of bacon 3 pancakes and a bit of ham with iced tea. At 7:50 P.M. She got the order turned in at the grill. At 8:00 P.M. I was still waiting and they were delivering the order of the two men sitting two booths to the WEST of me. . (they ordered right before I) (10 Minutes waiting now) At 8:10 P.M. I still don't have my order, it isn't up, and my waitress as never stopped back by to check on me, or bother to tell me it should be up in a moment. (20 Minutes waiting now) At 8:15 The waitress is coming out of the smoking section, she seems upset. . my order is nowhere to be seen, (I have been waiting for the order for 25 minutes. ) I would add that I do not have all night. Finally she walks by again and into the smoking section. I fish $3.00 out of my wallet to pay for the iced tea, and leave it on the table. I recognize that 25 minutes is way too long for a simple breakfast order, get up and walk out the door. .. I look out as I am getting into my vehicle and maybe they are starting to realize I have left. It had been 30 minutes since I walked in and 25 minutes since my order was taken. I love Mama Lou's for nostalgic reasons. A good friend who passed away while back used to go with me to Mama Lou's after our rehearsals at night. The staff were great and accommodating. They didn't skimp on the food. Everything I tried was very good. Yeah. It looks like a hole in the wall, but when I visited in July my food was still good and the waitress was very polite. I didn't have my friends but I enjoyed reminiscing. Someone had occupied our old booth, so I didn't get to sit there this time. read more

Parking lot looks like a dump, trash everywhere. I hate that. Makes me question their level of pride. Thankfully the dining room was better. Showed up after 10 pm, when this place can turn into a side show of drunkards and oddballs. Which I wouldn't have minded so much except that the group behind us was drunk and loudly dropping the F-bomb all meal long, with little kids around. Oh well, partially my fault I suppose. Mama Lou's is a homey, greasy spoon, 24 hour diner complete with retro smoking and non-smoking sections. Thankfully the areas are very much separate with wall and door, no smoke odor creep whatsoever. Servers are excellent, very friendly and attentive, as a homey diner should be. This is the kinda place where everybody knows your name. Food was average diner fare. Battered fries were probably the best part, cooked right and crispy. The rest was forgettable. Philly cheesesteak was small, kinda bland and soggy. Too little cheese. Kid's catfish plate didn't come with fillets as advertised, instead they were fish sticks. Fish was stringy inside with dark patches of meat, not good. But prices are very fair. I didn't try their breakfast, which gets the most talk by far. Maybe next time. I'm between a 2 and 3 here, but service bumped it up. read more

Maybe it was because we went in the middle of the night after a night out, but it was a very weird and unpleasant experience. Some man walked out of the bathroom with his shirt off and made us very uncomfortable. There were a few drunks and homeless people hanging around outside. The food took forever to receive and was not very good. Probably will never go back. read more

Excellent late night food, open 24 hours, one of the last restaurants grandfathered into having a smoking section from what I gather. It threw me for a loop getting asked if I wanted smoking or non when I walked in. The late night staff was attentive and engaging, the music from the kitchen was on point. This place passes the retro diner vibe check. Come here to chill and have some food. Don't expect gourmet blah blah blah its a greasy spoon that looks like its been there long enough that the city moved in around it. Stopped here on the way out from a show (I'm with with touring band) and it was great. The staff was friendly, our food came out faster than I expected and everything was delicious. Exactly what we all needed at 1am after a long night. Our waitress, Christine, made the experience very pleasant. Just your run of the mill dinner open 24 hours. Came here with a few buds last night after a night of partying. Nothing really special, got some cheese sticks, and could tell they were frozen before. Then I also got eggs, toast, and home fries. Toast was burnt. Service was on point though, waitress always came when we needed a refill on drinks and was there when we had any questions or was ready for the bill. Next time we'll prolly just stick with Waffle House or IHOP if it's after 4am. read more

When I saw Mama Lou's, I thought of Mama Lu's in the SGV. Sadly not the same, but it did fill our tummies before the plane ride home to L.A. Diner style food in a Denny's-like atmosphere. Omelettes, burgers, chili, etc. A lil too hearty for a plane ride, but it was a short trip anyways. Went here for lunch with my nephew and he ordered the Bacon Cheese Burger. It was obvious the meat patty was not real beef. The waitress was friendly and too his meal off. My patty melt was just ok. I had a side of cottage cheese and it was soured. Just terrible on food quality. read more

Just as good as the Moore location. Full menu all day. In this trip, I got the Philly with fries and ranch (best ranch in town). Family got the 3x3 woth sausage and bacon as well as tje french toast special. All of it was goodn the place has an old diner feel with several regulars coming in and getting greeted by name. Will always come back. The service, food, and feel is top notch. Crazy thing is they still have a smoking section. But don't worryn it is completely seperate and closed off. That sandwich & soup special has my name all over it! This place is cheap, always open, servers are friendly, and the food is filling. Given the option of soup or salad, definitely go for the soup-- It's delicious! The salad is basically a bowl of big chunks of lettuce. I'm not a fan of potatoes, but this is the place for you, if you are. I swear it seemed like everything comes with fries, wedges, mashed... Their sides are limiting, but the pies are hefty & delish. Decided to go here tonight and wish I hadn't. The place was extremely dirty and run down. The waitress was inattentive and rude. Ordered a sweet tea and then waited 15 minutes waiting for my order to be taken. When I decided to leave and pay for the tea, I was charged $4.62 for one sweet tea. The menu says drinks are $1.99. When I questioned the price the managers response was "I don't make the prices". Disgusting place with terrible business practices and disgusting service. Wish there was a way to give negative stars.. Highly recommend you do NOT go here. read more

My husband and I have seen it on line during late night/holidays when places are normally closed, but never went. Well he suggested we go for breakfast today, a classic dinner, nothing wild about it...but very good. Great choices with there breakfast fare, toast, muffins, biscuits/gravy or pancakes, and hash browns, grits, home fries or tomatoes. I had a chili/cheese omlet with hash browns, biscuits and gravy, it was very good. My husband had eggs, bacon, sausages and pancakes said it was very tasty. Went in to enjoy a meal before heading out fishing on a early morning and everything was fine until my card was charged on a separate transaction as the tip and food had already gone through. They did give me my money back( that being the previous tip plus the amount the account was charged again for) I did pay for the food. They were very rude about it as if I was the one stealing from them when my account was overcharged without my permission. I personally will stick to businesses that won't blame the "new girls not knowing how to use the machine" with cards. Before I even received my money back I had called them and was told the manger was out and I would get a call back within five minutes but when I didn't get a call back for about fifteen to twenty minutes I called back and my phone call wouldn't go through as it showed "caller busy" but literally thirty seconds later I typed the number in my husbands phone and immediately got an answer and once they asked what I was calling about and told them the manager magically started to call my personal number again. Beyond a weird and shady experience and this has made me very weary and caution with using my card anywhere now. If you go I'd stick to cash just so there is no later issues as this was very disappointing experience. Unsure if I'd even go back cause the food was nothing special it was just basic. read more

The staff is always friendly. The food is always good and priced reasonably. The whole place has a friendly atmosphere. It's like an old style cafe I always feel kind of homie when I go in there. Mama Lou's breakfast is some of the best OKC has to offer and for the best prices. I ate here with my wife and daughter for under $20. I love the kind wait staff and quick service. The fried potatoes (home fries) were a good addition to the chicken fried chicken, eggs, bacon and pancakes. Looks like we'll be regulars at this place. Denny's was across the I-35, but the wife and daughter agreed with me on Mama Lou's being the right call. The building looks like it had survived world war 2, but that doesn't bother me. I know "they don't make 'em like they used to". But I could tell this place was built when they used to make things well. read more
