Interior- cool light globes and beautiful murals.
Emma S.

Great service. Beautiful restaurant. Perfect drinks. And yummy food. All adds up to a wonderful first visit. We enjoyed the nachos (no meat added), street corn (could have used a little mayo or sour cream to make it a little creamier), carnitas plate ( 1/2), and Super Burrito with a chile relleno instead of meat (a little surprised the up-charge for the chile relleno instead of meat was $7). Drinks- two beers on draft and a Mamarita (margarita).

Garbage wet burrito with "spicy pork".....which was just chorizo
Gus G.

Wow, I was fooled by the reviews. This place sucks! My wife and I wanted Mexican, and wanted to try a new spot, and this was the only one open later in the evening. My wife felt like a fajitas plate, and I got a wet burrito. The delivery option had "spicy pork" listed as a meat option, which I interpreted as "Al pastor", since that wasn't explicitly on the menu. Well, the food got delivered and the second I saw my wife's chicken fajitas, I knew my wet burrito was going to be completely underwhelming. Her chicken looked like they had boiled it first, and then sauted it. And it was bland as hell! Then I open the container to my burrito and immediately knew, that from the color of the sauce, this is the kind of place that caters to people who DIDN'T grow up eating home cooked Mexican food. The burrito was limp, there was barely anything stuffed inside it, and the "spicy pork" was chorizo! Which they barely sprinkled in it! Why couldn't they just say chorizo in the meat options?!? Whatever, I'll never eat from here again. At least at other spots they're using authentic proteins and salsa. This place is terribly Americanized.

Awesome bar!

Mama Lupe's Cocina in the San Leandro is a standout Bay Area Mexican restaurant! The vibrant atmosphere--warm lighting, colorful décor, and nice music--sets the perfect tone. The Owner Efren, keeps it like an old-school style Mexican restaurant with free chips and salsa brought whenever you ask! I haven't been to a place with free chips in 5-6 years! The food is top quality and authentic--standouts include tender, flavorful carnitas that were perfectly seasoned, fish tacos had great flavor and carne asada was great as well! For an appetizer we tried the Mexican street corn and it was amazing! All of our dishes were made with great ingredients at surprisingly affordable prices. The margaritas were fantastic: we had a classic and several Cadillac that had fresh lime, were well-balanced, and dangerously drinkable. Friendly service and an all-around great vibe make this a must-visit Mexican spot in the Bay Area and Oakland/ San Francisco. We went for my birthday and I'll definitely be back soon!

Shredded Chicken Enchilada with green sauce (Full)

We stumbled upon Mama Lupe's Cocina after tile shopping in San Leandro. We were warmly greeted and seated right away. We started off with Margaritas - my husband had the Cadillac whereas I had the La Flor which was hibiscus based. I am not exactly sure how it was made but thoroughly enjoyed the tart / sweet taste of the drink. It was a nice departure from your standard magarita and complemented well with the fresh warm tortilla chips and salsa that they brought out. Their menu had many options which made it hard to choose. I went with the shredded chicken enchiladas with green sauce and my husband ordered the chile verde. Both came with rice and beans. The chicken was tender and moist. The pork in the chile verde was flavorful. We enjoyed both dishes, I even ate the beans which I typically don't as I find beans kind of dry and pasty. I ordered the full knowing there would be leftovers which my husband gladly took to work the next day. We came on a Wednesday evening. Everyone was friendly and service went well. It was overall a great way to end our day. It is a cute place and we will definitely be back.

Chile Relleno

First time here and they made us wait. It's Friday afternoon, so I guess it was expected. It was a short wait. The murals are nice, but the hats are a bit too much. Coming of Mexican decent, I thought they were in poor taste. The did have 3 TV's. And they were smart enough to leave the captions on. But with the loud music, it was way too much! And it was salsa music! I would have preferred traditional folk music. Once seated, warm chips and salsa came out. Based on pics already posted, some menu items did not appeal to me. The Chile Rellenos came recommended, which is why we came here. It tasted alright. The beans okay. The rice was flavorless.

Combination with a hard taco with carnitas, green enchilada with chicken and red enchilada with shredded beef.

Loud venue. Many people. Great service. Good food. Parking may be a challenge, as it shares a lot with other businesses and restaurants.

The only think did change is the price but the wouldn't stop me. You know how most places fall off after a while? Not this one. From day one to now, it's been straight consistency. The burrito hits every time no skimping, flavors on point. Honestly, it's more than just food at this point--it's a tradition. Hard to find something that stays this solid for two decades. Respect where it's due.

While the burrito was definitely "super" in size, the proportions were way off. It was heavily packed with rice and beans--which were fine--but they clearly skimped on the carne asada. When you're paying for a premium burrito, you expect the meat to be the star of the show, not a background character. It felt more like a vegetarian burrito with a few guest appearances by the steak. If you're looking for a massive meal and don't mind the filler, this hits the spot, but for those of us looking for a balanced meat-to-rice ratio, this one missed the mark. Hopefully, it was just an off day for the line cook.

Not a lot of taco spots are open late at 10p but I saw that PNT was open. My family and I pulled into the driveway and were confused because it looked and sounded like a bar. There were a few people standing outside and I asked if this was a bar or restaurant and the gentleman said it's a restaurant. We walk in and got some stares because it was late and we had kids. Didn't matter to us. Everything on the menu sounded delish and they had al day breakfast items. We ended up going with the following: 1. Chicken sandwich- 10/10 my teen loved this. It was a crispy thinly sliced chicken breast with all the fixings, and pressed to perfection. 2. Chicken Caesar salad - 10/10 the lettuce was Romain, tossed in Caesar dressing and parm, with grilled chicken filet. 3. 4 tacos de asada - 10/10 yummy chopped steak, seasoned and grilled to perfection. I'm not sure if the evening chef cooks better or maybe we were starving, but the food was great! Ambience at the time was pretty loud but I figure it's because people hanging out in the bar area. Definitely will be back.

‼Absolutely horrible tasting food that is ridiculously over priced oh my god. NOT WORTH MY $44 !…read more I got these food items: Asada tacos- 1/2 of the taco meat was just big oily chunks of fat, I spat it out immediately. Rest of it was tolerable to chew. Tortilla was dry and oily. Al Pastor tacos- bland meat with a lingering dry pepper aftertaste that makes the meat taste old. Took one bite and was immediately repulsed. Chips and dip (guac and salsa)- chips are oily and hard to chew. Guac was bland, no garlic or cut tomato. Salsa was a viscous sludge in a small tub, had the same pepper taste as the Al Pastor. Horchata drink- too much cinnamon and saw multiple lidded to go cups of this already made in the fridge behind the register, no expiration dates on them. ALSO PLEASE UPDATE THE PRICES ON YOUR MENU, I was charged $11.95 for the chips and dip but the menu says "house chips and guac $9.50" ... how is salsa $2.45? Only positive thing I would mention is that the free tiny salsa, slice of lime, sliced radish, and pickled jalapeño and carrot was nice of them. Wish the pickled veggies didn't drip vinegar all over the bag (it was wrapped in tin foil). Never been here before and never coming back again.
