After walking around Liberty Market twice, I finally decided to go with Mama Made for lunch. We ordered the veggie pad see ew noodles, chicken spicy basil noodles, and the sampler to share. It took about ten minutes to get our food but the time went by quickly since we explored for a little then came back just before our meal was ready. Prices and portion sizes are very reasonable considering where you're at. The food itself wasn't super flavorful but there was sriracha and spicy chili on the side with the utensils that you can add into your meal to make it better. Out of the sampler, the coconut shrimp was amazing but everything else was a little lacking. Overall, it wasn't the best Thai food we've ever had but we were both happy and satisfied with our meal and the location gives it an extra oomph. You can grab some Thai then take a short little walk to another booth to get a drink or dessert. We got some coffee and took our meal outside to enjoy in the nice San Diego breeze! :) read more

If you haven't tried it yet (lots of good places to eat at the market place) you are missing out. The vegetable stir fry is delicious, and my favorite. The sauce on this dish is amazing! You can add some shrimp or chicken if you want some protein. The pad Thai noodles are quite tasty as well. The customer service is also top notch. I accidentally used the wrong credit card, and went back a day later to have my transaction changed, they totally helped me out and saved me from some headaches. I would consider myself a Thai food connoisseur, and this was really not up to par with my standards. I ordered a yellow curry with tofu and vegetables. The tofu was incredibly mushy. It tasted so soft that it felt like it hadn't been cooked. Generally, I don't have issues with texture, but this was hard to eat. I also paid an extra $2 for vegetables and there was about 3 pieces of broccoli sprinkled in there. The amount I paid for the quantity of food did not compare. The curry sauce itself really was nothing special and overall I'm just disappointed with the quality and quantity of my food. read more

Full disclosure: I've only had the penang curry with tofu and brown rice. It was a decent portion but not as much as you'd get if up went you a Thai restaurant and sat down. The meal came in a two portion tupperware. The vegetables were well cooked and not soggy or over soft. The tofu wasn't fried, which I like. Service was fast and pleasant. They were not busy so I'm not sure why it took so long for us to get our order. But once we got it, it was well worth the wait, especially the tom kha soup, which was so hot and seton a rainy day like today. Pad se ew was also good, but could have use a little more flavor. I liked the soup so much that I ended up spoon leftover broth on the noodles to give them some extra kick. Got a shrimp pad Thai and the noodles were too chewy to eat. It was overloaded with tamarind that it was sour in taste and not at all balanced with sweet and savory as it should be. I should have stuck to pad see ew or other noodles but who knows if the noodles consistency would be the same. I'd be open to try another time but for the price and portion, I'd rather stick to an actual Thai restaurant because at least they give you more. read more

Was one of the worst padthai I ever had. And I've eaten plenty. The portion was small. The noodles were different sizes, like they ran out of the padthai noodles. The sauce tastes really weird, not a pleasant taste. Ordered a honeydew boba, if you can even call it that. The boba tea came separated, and it wasn't sweet at all. Since we were in Liberty Station, we intended to try small plates from a few different restaurants. We chose the sampler (including spring rolls, pot stickers, coconut shrimp, and calamari). The spring rolls and pot stickers were good, but the shrimp and calamari were very heavily fried, but the shrimp had a strong level of coconut flavor. The calamari rings were very small. I like that everything could be made gluten free on the menu and that's what really caught my eye in the Liberty Public Market. I ordered the beef pad see ew noodles. They don't make their food spicy so they have crushed red pepper flakes and spicy chili on the side for you to add to your food if you want it spicy. I thought that was sort of weird. The Thai tea I got was tasty. Not too sweet and not full of ice. The noodles were good, a little oily but still full of flavor for being gluten free! I was surprised at the amount of beef there was in my meal. Every bite I had had meat with it! I would order again if I came back to the market since it's a tasty, gf altetnative. read more

If you want Pad Thai for lunch then do yourself a favor, just go to Issara Thai and get the lunch special for about the same price but with salad, egg roll, cream cheese wontons, and soup. Mama Made Thai is a small food stall inside the Liberty Public Market. This little stall serve up some tasty Thai food, cooked to order. My wife and I ordered the Pad Kee Mao ( Spicy Basil pan fried noodle), and the Green curry special. We both opted for the beef as the choice of protein. Both dishes were delicious, however the rice served with the green curry was slightly under cooked and was hard, (hence the three stars). We got the spicy basil noodles and they were cooked great! Portion was good, and noodles were nice and chewy. Flavor was good as well. Only complaint is that some pieces of chicken were dry and hard. Perhaps if they used thigh meat instead of breast, or didn't cook them as long. Would consider revisiting this place in the future. read more

Hiiiii Yelpers :) So the Liberty Public Market was the to go spot for the family today. It was busy but I'm guessing this place is a popular spot. This was my first time here and I loved how many options you have to choose from. I was stuck between getting a brisket sandwhich, lobster sandwhich, stuffed burger or pad thai. I narrowed it down to what would be easier for me to eat. Pad thai it is, plus I was also craving it :) I really liked it, but there was nothing different about it. I ordered chicken pad thai with vegetables which was extra. Portion was great and i was really hungry too. All together I paid about $12, but that's because I added tip. My family and I have been to Mama Made Thai food restaurant at the Liberty Station public market several times. We have had issues with the food quality several times which we brought to the managers attention and were told we are working to improve the quality control. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt so we decide to try this restaurant again tonight. We ordered several entrees and paid for extra egg in our pad Thai entrees ( we never received our extra egg ) they have NO problem taking customers money but they do not give you what you paid for! This is the 3 rd time this has happened to us. In addition we ordered a shrimp appetizer and were given a 2 Oz size of plum sauce when I asked the cashier Carlos for 1 extra sauce he said I need to pay more money ( mind you I just spent $40 ) already paid for $4 fir extra eggs I didn't receive now they ask for more money for 2 OZ of sauce! Btw the sauce he handed me was only half full I then asked Carlos if he could fill up the sauce that was half full he said NO that's what we serve! It's obvious by my negative experience Again that this restaurant is not interested in offering great food that customers pay for and are promised they are interested in making money and shirt changing their customers. I took the time to write my review which I probably should have done 3 visits ago. Tonight was my last visit. There are plenty of Thai restaurants in S.D. that don't take advantage of their customers. There is a reason why Mama Made restaurant has 3 stars. read more
