Best pizza I have had in a long time. And fantastic service. Cannot wait to come in again and try some entrees on your menu.

Do not order delivery during "busy hours" - they mess your order up and take over 2.5 hours to get to your house (that is literally 10 minutes away) We ordered two salads and pasta.... we called back every hour and they told us basically that it was our fault we ordered on a busy night for them and there was only one driver.. (ONE DRIVER!?!?UHHHHHH NOT OKAY) We finally got our food after waiting around since 5pm...... they forgot half the order.... When we called back to tell them and ask why it took so long, they had no remorse or even tried to make it right by giving us a free order next time or anything of that nature. This is a new unit for the Mama Mia folks. The inside is beautiful and the layout is pretty much like their location in Manasas, just a little bigger and newer. As an FYI, the new location is kind of out of the way from the main shopping center back up by the freeway. Make sure you look at a map before you visit the first time. I found the staff personable and recognized one of the son's from the original location. We had 2 medium pepperoni pies and while it was good, it wasn't anything to write home about (only Yelp!) I'm not quite able to put my finger on it. The recipe was the same, sauce, dough, cheese, but it was different. Maybe it's the new pizza oven that doesn't have years of seasoning... I dunno, but it just doesn't have that "UMPH" in it that their pizzas do back at the Mananas location. Mama Mia is also not only a pizza parlor, it's a full service restaurant. They have steaks, subs of all kinds, pasta dishes and more. Pitcher's of beer can be expensive. Watch out what you're consuming or you can have a hefty tab. Over all the staff is friendly and attentive, and the restaurant is very clean. I highly recommend the restaurant just for the service alone. If I come back through this area I'll stop again. read more

Called in a pick up order since I was in a pinch and needed dinner fast. My kids and I were getting on a plane early the next morning and I did not want to cook. We ordered Hawaiian pizza, meat lasagna and a steak & cheese sub for my hubby. This was my first time getting food from this Restaurant. When we entered the service was great and the gentlemen behind the counter gave my kids water to drink while we waited. Our food was ready about 5 min after we arrived. I paid and we drove home. My kids ate the pizza(the whole things) so it was to their liking. I ate the meat lasagna with garlic bread(it was hard and a bit burnt) and a small side salad. The salad was fresh and the lasagna was loaded with meat sauce. The lasagna was kind of sweet and had a funny taste to it. My son tried it and said the same thing. After dinner we went to bed to get ready to fly early. I unfortunately was up all night with a very upset stomach and I got no rest. My son the next morning had stomach issues as well because he ate some of the lasagna with me. My daughter was fine cause she only ate the pizza. So I would not recommend this Restaurant due to the issues the food I ate caused me. I would get a pizza from there if I was in a hurry but if I wanted pasta I would goto New York pizza by Buffalo Wild Wings. read more

I was working at Virginia Scuba and wanted to try a new place for lunch. An old man had come by the day before and dropped off some menus for Mama Mia so I figured I'd try it out. I am a sucker for mediterranean food, and on this day, I had a taste for a Gyro complete with feta cheese and Tzatziki Sauce as well as some good Garlic Cheese Bread. I called in the carry out and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. Perfect. I made my way to this new location, and aside from the small Mama Mia sign on the front of the building, you wouldn't know you were looking at or were about to walk into a restaurant. I went into the restaurant and there was nobody else in there, which in my book is generally not a good sign. When I walked in, they were bagging up my order, so this was great timing. I got back to work and everything was perfect. I was super satisfied with the food. The Garlic and Melted Mozzarella Cheese Bread with Marinara Sauce is to die for. The Gyro is awesome. I could eat here every day. I will surely be back for more. read more

We were out running errands with my folks and thought we'd give Mama Mia a try since we were around the corner in the VA Gateway shopping center. They are kind of in the middle of nowhere, in a small business park on Limestone Dr. Unless you knew they were there you'd totally miss them. The restaurant is your typical pizza joint- a combination of booths and tables with a counter and kitchen in the back. Apparently they just opened this past Wednesday so they were a little slow. As I mentioned, they are rather hard to find. The waitress, who has worked at their Manassas restaurant for a long time was brought over to work at this new location, was telling us how they have been putting signs out on Wellington Rd but the county keeps making them take them down. Great way to support your local businesses... Anyway, since they just opened they were waiting on their laminated menus to arrive so all the tables had their take-out menus, complete with coupons. We placed an order for their garlic knot appetizer, a 16" cheese pizza with a free 10" pizza (with italian sausage) and a 12" Sparkey's Steak sandwich. The garlic knots and pizza were a bit underwhelming. The garlic knots were small "knots" of dough covered in olive oil and jarred garlic. They were very garlicy but using jarred garlic is a bit lazy imo. The pizza had lots of cheese and sauce but there just wasn't much flavor. My dad requested that the 10" sausage be browned on the bottom with a thinner crust. They thinner crust was better, but it wasn't really browned at all. The Sparkey's Steak sandwich contained "Philly steak, bacon, sautéed onions, lettuce, tomato, and mayo". I ordered it without the "LTM" and was actually really good. I'd totally get the steak sandwich again if we ever go back. They have another location in Manassas which has been there forever so I'm hoping that they are just going through some growing pains with the new location. read more

It's obvious that the the earlier reviews were more related to opening growing pains than the actual food. For a LOT of good food for a good price this is the place to be. I don't hate chains but it's amazing how much more you get from a mom and pop restaurant. Mama Mia has the typical italian fare but with some surprises. The Greek Pizza is my favorite, the wraps are great and the wings sauce is delicious. The staff is friendly but it can get slow sometimes, we really like it. read more

We have eaten here 3 times now since moving to the area. We've had the meat pizza, bacon cheeseburger pizza, taco pizza and a Philly cheesesteak. Not one complaint! Definitely recommend. read more

Stopped here for a take-out pizza, crust was a bit thicker/chewier than typical NY-style, sauce had good flavor though. Cheese was a bit browned on top (i'm not sure if they use a real pizza oven or one of those conveyer-type ovens). It's definitely better than papa johns/dominos, but Pizza Margherita just down the road is far superior. read more

I do know many good place for Pizza, however, I couldn't find good place for Spaghetti with reasonable price. They have nice service and a variety of options. In today's competitive marketplace, the consumer is king. At least that is what I thought until I interacted with this sub-standard establishment. Calling their service mediocre might be over-complementing Mama Mia's. Their food might be good, when warm, but I would not know; my family has ordered Mama Mia's three times...and three times has received cold food. This last time, I tried to advise them of what is clearly a recurring, systemic issue. The manager immediately met my complaints with excuses. Apparently 4 miles away is too far...and fries are always cold when delivered...and so on. Mama Mia's is off the list. There are too many decent delivery places in the area to deal with this. read more

Ordered food from this place. Went to pick it up and not one of the 3 employees who were preparing the food were wearing a mask. We addressed it with them, they told us that the CDC didn't recommend they had to have one on. Only the wait staff and the customers. Most noteworthy is their service. I had an end-of-season kids basketball pizza party at Mama Mia's. They rearranged the tables for us, timed the pizza's just as we ordered, they made sure the soda pitchers stayed full, and brought out plates and forks for a cake we brought in. Whatever we needed - "no problem". The atmosphere is pub style, with sports TVs running. You can't go wrong with the food. Well worth the visit for a neighborhood pizza joint. read more

Our family LOVES Mama Mia! It's tucked away off the beaten path in Gainesville, so we feel like it's our little secret away from the crowds and long waits found at other local establishments. The staff, most of whom are all family, are so friendly, courteous, and attentive. I don't think we've ever had to ask for a drink refill due to how efficient the wait staff has been. Their menu is so diverse that it's often hard to limit your selection to just one item. 100% of the time we order their onion straws to start off our meal because they are so fantastic! Beyond that, I've never ordered something that wasn't incredible. Tonight I tried the steak & cheese hoagie. As with every other menu item, it was delish! If pizza is your thing, you won't be disappointed. I have adult kids who work in the pizza industry and they LOVE this pizza. The dough is out of this world. I'm generally not a big fan of pizza, but I actually liked this. However, Mama Mia has a solution for others like myself who don't like tomato sauce - WHITE PIZZA. It's some of the best I've ever had. (You've got to add sausage to get the full, knock-your-socks-off experience.) As for their prices, they are unbeatable for the amount of food they give you. You definitely will not go home hungry. Oh, one more thing, if you happen to be an ice connoisseur (aka - ice snob), you're gonna love their shaved ice! Oh, one final comment (really), my husband is a police officer and the staff has always treated him with great respect and appreciation which is not something to take for granted. The pizza is pretty good (more of a buttery crust). I appreciate that they use fresh mushrooms. I almost deducted an extra star because I ordered a gyros (properly pronounced YEER-ohs) and was corrected and treated like I was dumb. If it happened again, I wouldn't go back. The person I was with who has the gyros said it was good. Outside of this last experience, the staff has been friendly. read more

This place seems clean and staff if friendly. Portion sizes are massive. Pasta sauces are a bit sweet for me. Not the best Italian food I've ever had but it hits the spot. Definitely a go to if your really hungry cause you'll never leave feeling like you didn't get enough to eat. read more

Their pizza is excellent and they have a interesting variety to choose from. I love that they deliver and we can get an authentic pizza (not a chain) brought to the house by a friendly driver. I have also had the wings and they were quite good, my son had a sandwich that he really liked and the salad was fresh and filling. We like to find these type of restaurants, family-owned and operated and give them our business rather than the large chains. You may pay slightly more, but it's definitely worth it! read more

Wow this place is kinda ridiculous. The wings were terrific (ordered extra crispy) the sauce wasn't the typical "hot wing sauce" it was sweet with a tiny kick odd but good, I ordered the chicken teriyaki when it arrived it looked like a hit mess, it was not appealing at all I did not even attempt to try it whatsoever. Kicking myself now for not taking a pic if it to show it. My husbands fries were a soggy n limp. He had a buffalo wrap which he says is "just ok" overall will def NOT be back. I saw this place on yelp after looking through a lot of higher rated places. I decided to eat here based on the location and review that said 'it must be good to have a lot of people eating here in an industrial park'. Is was great, garlic knots, chicken gyro and a gyro. We haven't had food this good in a long time and we eat out a lot. We will be back even though it is about 40 minutes from our home. I recommend the garlic knots. read more
