Take out only, which is a shame. When you could eat in, the food was so much better. I used to love the stuffed shells from here but lately, they are not great. You know what it is? The sauce. It's basically tomato paste and crushed tomatoes mixed, zero seasoning. Cannoli wasn't great, too much whipped cream and not enough ricotta. For all the Italian joints around, I'll go elsewhere unless I want Marsala. read more

This place has traditional Italian American cuisine that boasts huge portions. We ordered takeout for dinner and everything was delicious. We tried the fried mozzarella (don't mind the missing sticks in the box) which had 4 pieces with marinara sauce for dipping. The fried mozzarella were absolutely massive and very stringy with an excellent cheese pull. I would get these again they were that good. For the entrees we tried the famous chicken Parmesan which was huge and could easily have leftovers. The chicken was fried to perfection and had the perfect cheese to sauce ratio. That entree came with a side of penne Alfredo which was a small uncharged but was totally worth it. My partner tried the shrimp Alfredo which they really enjoyed. One key tip is that they give complimentary salads with Italian dressing so don't order a side salad. They also provide fresh bread and their garlic knots so don't order and extra one. Let's just say I learned these lessons from this past visit. You do get a lot of food for the money and it is great to see a thriving family run restaurant serving up delicious food with huge quantities. You won't be disappointed coming here. read more

The food tasted reheated and all noodles were overcooked. The salads lettuce had begin to turn and the soup was ice cold in spots like it had been frozen and not reheated all the way. Overall quite a disappointing meal for the entire family. Also, the employee made an odd comment when food was picked up- "have fun with that." Based on food quality this is concerning. read more

The entire staff has long hair that is not in a hairnet. Sure enough, while eating my salad, after working two jobs all week and excited to relax, I find a super long hair wrapped around my salad. I was rather disgusted and disappointed! I think my time at this establishment is over, such a shame that the owner does not require hairnets! Time to move on, rant over. read more

My wife had food poisoning from their disgusting food. This place is trash. First and last time ordering from them. We ordered on Wednesday night 6/15/2025. Always great fresh food and excellent service. The only pizza in Northeast Ohio that has a crust that you can make a meal of - crusty and sweet but not too sweet. Compare with everyone else that is either tasteless, salty or limp. We come from Akron to eat at Mama Roberto's because it is worth the trip. read more

This is a cute mom and pop restaurant. The staff was great, super friendly and personable with their customers. But they have flavorless food. The tomato sauce tastes watered down like it came from a can. The Chicken Marsala is missing the Marsala flavor. I'm pretty sure they use beef gravy instead. And the bread that is served with your meal has so much potential. It would be good if the chef used garlic and seasonings. It's almost as if they only cook for folks in a nursing home. read more

Patty was very rude on the phone. I placed an order and I was very kind. I assumed based on the tone of the person on the other end was a female, thus using "ma'am" for good etiquette. Mid-way through ordering I was corrected with "first off I'm a man". To which I responded, "how am I supposed to know that over the phone." I finished the order and promptly asked who the employee was, then I had got my answer. This was not a nice way to treat a paying customer over the phone. Full disclosure on my end of the phone it had sounded like a female. Furthermore, Mama Roberto's has good food and I have always eaten here, for years even. I think they lack customer service, and could use some education in that field. read more

They are delicious and wow couldn't believe the amount they gave me in my order, plus the huge tasty dinner salad with delicious homemade Italian dressing, plus homemade bread very good! OMG......I don't know the last time I had fresh linguine with white clam sauce. I usually get the canned stuff, which isn't horrible, but........ The sauce has a nice, light flavor. TONS of clams. Not overly garlic or salty. The pasta is just tender, which is the way I like it. I got a salad and garlic knots with butter with the pasta. Those are for later. LOL. I also sprung for broccoli as a side. It's steamed plain, no butter or seasoning, JUST the way I like it. This was SO worth the wait from Door Dash delivery. Having it with some delicious wine. I heard Mama Roberto's use to be really really good back in the day, but now it's more mediocre-ish. The inside looked like your average joe pizza joint with checkeredd table cloths and random stuff all over the walls. My food came out pretty greasy, a little too greasy actually. I'm not too much of a complainer so i sucked it up and ate it anyway. Don't be too concerned about the prices because the portions are HUGEEE. Their sauce here? no jaw dropper really. The pizza on the other hand though is actually pretty damn good lol. All in all .. Mediocre service, mediocre food, and great pizza. Nothing's really super fresh, made from scratch type of ordeal. Mama Roberto's is my absolute favorite restaurant! The chicken marsala is fantastic, big mushrooms with marsala gravy. The chicken parmesan is really good! I love the three cheese tortelloni with pesto sauce. My son loves the fish sandwich. A great salad, garlic knots and bread with butter come with the dinners. The servings are huge and priced right. We have done catering for special occasions and individual meals, usually twice a week. The pizza is great! The calzones are awesome! The family is so nice every time I come in. This place used to be better about 10-15 years ago. I've worked in Italian restaurants growing up, I know how calzones are supposed to be made. The calzones here are too much on the doughy side. More bread than the filling. It should be baked thin and crispy like a pizza pocket sandwich if you will. I tried the spinach ravioli here and it tasted like it was microwaved and it made me feel queasy the next day. They still have their $3 plate sharing charge. The lasagna they make is enough for 2 people so they got you there. My brother wanted to try the lasagna and he took the rest home and couldn't finish half of it. He had to keep asking for extra sauce because they hardly put any sauce on top of it and it kept soaking in and dried the whole thing out. The waitress rolled her eyes every time he asked too. I have never tried their pizza here but if it's as doughy as the calzones, I may not try it. The cleanliness of the place is good, I'll give them that. The Olive Garden is industrial and cookie cutter but I would say some of their dishes are actually better than some here. TJ's is a better choice for a good Italian meal but even they have jumped on the bandwagon of raising prices but keeping the portions and menu the same. Did I mention there are good amount of dishes that don't come with a salad and they charge $5 for a side salad? I don't get how this place has made Fox 8 a few times over the years. Didn't they get hosed on social media and Facebook for how they treated this one lady's experience there who had cancer and came in with an oxygen tank? I know this may be a harsh review, but I just wish this place was as good as it used to be. read more

This is coming from (2) Southern European people a Sicilian and a Greek. Nothing in town beats this restaurant. If you haven't tried it you are missing out big time. Best stuffed hot peppers, fried mozzarella, chicken parm, mussels, pizza you name it, and so reasonable we order from here 2-3 times (sometimes more) a week!! This will be an unusual review. I haven't written one like it. This has to do with the all you can eat fish places that we go to with regularity - Mentor Family Restaurant, Lakeshore Eatery, Mama Roberto's and Manhattan Deli. The fish tastes great at all of these places and the price is not unreasonable. All give a good portion on the first plate. It's thereafter that we have an issue. One piece every 20 minutes - some a little better, some a little worse. Those that ask how many you want, take longer. The management and owners need to take some things into consideration. For our family, one person gets AYCE and the rest of us order from the menu. That means 1-4 profit makers in our party of up to five. We also come in at other times and spend money. The slow down only serves to make our fish eater stubborn and he isn't afraid to tell the wait staff what he wants, especially when he isn't getting it. I'm sure the wait staff hate AYCE fish. Tonight we had a different tactic to the slow down. They ran out of fish. I have very rarely been at a place that runs out of anything. I am sure we are not the only ones disappointed in this situation. Again, I ask that management take some time to rethink how we can make everyone happy. Copying this to the other restaurants listed. Don't think I am singling out any one place. Now I am going in search of other places that do AYCE and hoping for the best. read more

Huge portions - HUGE - do the plate sharing with the $2 charge...trust me. The chicken Marsala and the chicken alfredo were both delicious - the garlic knots good but had sesame seeds on them - that was a little odd... Service was very attentive and kind.
