Mama Thai Restaurant located in Chandler (Chandler Heights/Alma School). They just opened. The restaurant is nice and clean. Also it has a huge relaxing patio dining area. Friendly servers took our orders and recommended some great authentic Thai dishes. Fried Tofu tasted so good, crispy outside, soft inside and perfect favor. Green curry with chicken, the curry aroma smelled and tasted wonderful. Thai fried rice; the experience cook did a perfect job with their special sauces. Ped Gra Prow serviced on a hot sizzling iron pan. Mouthwatering when the server placed it on the table. Smell so good and delicious. Pad Thai-very tasty. We ordered the egg rolls, drunken noodle, and Thai fried rice via DoorDash right before they stopped taking orders for the evening and were very impressed. The egg rolls were plentiful (think we received 5), the drunken noodle actually tasted medium spicy and the assortment of veggies in the dish were nice. The fried rice also had its own distinct flavor and was on point. We ordered both dishes with chicken and received generous portions. We will definitely order from Mama Thai again next time we are hankering for some Thai food. Love that they offer spice levels when placing an order on DoorDash and actually respect your selection. I ordered it medium hot and it was very flavorful and had just the right amount of kick for Thai food. It came with steamed rice. First I was bummed because the peanut sauce was nothing like I had before and it was not good in my opinion. I decided to give it a try anyway. I ordered over the phone and told them clearly to put the spices on the side so I can add as much or little as I want to the curries so I could share with my daughter. I mentioned 3 times I wanted it on the side then I said my whole order mentioning it one more time (making it 4 times) my curry had no spices on the side and the recipe said mild for both. (I get there is a language barrier but she spoke well and she confirmed the spices on the side so idk how that got lost along the way) then if that wasn't enough for desert I had my fav which is mango sticky rice (I have been eating this curry and desert for more than 18 yrs and I have had it at many places from Seattle WA all the way to AZ!!) The presentation of this desert was awful! The rice was tough and mushed together. It was so tough I couldn't even cut it with my fork. My mother and sisters have been making stick rice since before I was born (I just turned 36 today this was supposed to be my birthday dinner) sticky rice should be sticky but not mushy and definitely NOT TOUGH! I have to say this place will not get my business again. I'm bummed but I'd rather drive even farther away to get better food just not worth the trip or money for me to come here again! read more

I hear that this place has changed ownership a few times I the last few years so if you have not been in for a while it may be worth a visit. The soup and salad are a nice inclusion for lunch and the hot peanut sauce dressing is a real good experience. Mama Thai is the best and most authentic Thai food in the area. Prices are so fair, about 20 ounces of curry and rice for $13, my favorite is green curry. The fried duck was delicious and crispy. Be prepared for leftovers and for them to taste just as good. I honestly was disappointed Mama Thai doesn't have higher reviews, but most of the negative reviews mention orange chicken (which isn't even Thai food go to Panda Express if thats what you want). They only good thing about here is they actually make the food Thai hot. The vegetables they put it their curry are not what is listed on the menu. The Tom Kha soup consisted of what seemed like all coconut milk, mushrooms, a few pieces of chewy chicken and maybe one peace of cilantro. Ordered it as hot and it was mild. They served a half of a small box of rice for a large container of red curry. I eat Thai almost weekly and I will not order from here again. Not sure how it receives such high reviews. read more

I used to frequent Silk Thai due to its proximity to work and they served wine. The food was excellent some days, but awful other days. The service was terrible during dinner hrs, and one day they did not open on time because a cook failed to go to work. I then moved out of town, but returned for vacation. I ordered door dash and food was not edible. Well since then I moved back to Chandler. Silk closed the first day I returned to work and was Replaced by Mama Thai's. Today I finally decided to try it. But the orange chicken was absolutely disgusting and drenched is a weird sauce and veggies that didn't even taste near orange chicken and didn't even look like the pictures.
