We got it medium the first time and it was on the spicer side for me, but when I got the mild I can definitely taste the sweetness on the Pad Thai. If you love sweet pad thai, you will love this! 4.5/5 stars, but I'm rounding up because I love small family owned businesses :) Service can be slow here, but when you do get served, all of the staff are incredibly nice. They do take reservations. The restaurant itself is about medium-sized. You can definitely seat parties of around 8 people. You may have to ask if they can seat more. We all loved the food! My table got an order of the orange chicken and the Thai basil chicken. I was so impressed with how crispy the coating was. Even for leftovers, my chicken was still crispy despite being microwaved too. The Thai basil chicken is a bit on the salty side, so I would recommend eating it with the plain rice that it comes with. Their fried rice is also incredibly good on its own. You can really taste that smoky wok hei. I've been told that Mr Thai Bistro has been around for a long time. Their food is so good and they definitely deserve the business they get. I hope they can continue to stick around. We were trying to go to another restaurant in the area that was closed so stumbled upon Mr. Thai and so glad we did. The crispy spring rolls were good but some in our party were grilled with the taro. The beef with broccoli was amazing with a mild spice. The beef was good and not too chewy. Overall the dish had a good ginger taste. The orange chicken was delicious The drunken noodles with shrimp was very good. The noodles were a little over cooked for hubby but he loved the flavor and the shrimp were butterflied nicely. The green curry with chicken was also delicious. Great sauce. I've just started writing reviews on Yelp and had to write one for Mr Thai Bistro since it's my go to place for Thai food, I've been coming here for about 9 yrs now. If you are looking for a great hole in the wall place with fantastic Thai food, this is your place. It's family owned and authentic and just delicious, service is always great too. Be warned that this place can make spicy food (Thai hot), they have to tone it down a bit for me. My favorite dish is the crispy basil chicken, I always order that every visit plus one or two of the other dishes. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Also, they make my favorite Thai tea in town, it' has a rich flavor and not overly sweet like most places. Give place a try if you are craving Thai. read more

In the area and wanted to try this spot out for dinner. We ordered takeout since it was 830 and they were going to close at 9. The inside is a small dining room with 7 tables and all of them were occupied. We ordered veggie rolls as app and mango sticky rice for dessert. Hubby ordered the crispy basil chicken entree and I got the pad see ew with tofu instead of chicken. The pad see ew was flavorful but the noodles seemed soggy and the texture was weird for my liking, but the tofu and veggies were good. I will have to come back another time to try something else or give it another shot. Just wasn't feeling it this time. The hubby absolutely RAVED about the crispy basil chicken. He loved the flavor (sweet but savory with a hint of spice since he ordered level 1) and the crispness (not overly breaded so you can still taste the chicken), and the glaze and Thai basil was a great compliment to the whole dish. He was very impressed and even said he would get the same dish the next time we go again. The sticky rice was scrumptious and a great way to end the meal! Instead, 3 good size pieces, curry flavor, more Indian style. I had Mango fish, and it was delicious. Large filet of a mild white fish, light crunchy coating and fried to perfection. The accompanying mango salad was vinegary and spicy, fresh and Herby. Served with a side of white rice. Plentiful portions, presented by very nice people. All the food had a great home made taste. We went here because I was really craving Thai food and they had good reviews by my house. To start, the reason I'm giving 4 stars is because the service was slow - meaning the food. It took about 40 minutes. Getting our order and water while we wait was phenomenal service. It was just the food took forever. I'm also giving 4 stars because they have onions in the fried rice. At least they were big enough I could pull them out but still gross. I also gave 4 stars because the veggies rolls were NOT was I imagined. They were out of chicken egg rolls and she suggested these instead. I thought they'd be fried with veggies inside, nope, it was rice paper with a literal salad inside. Not good. Okay, now the good stuff. My friend had the volcano seafood dish. He got it 3/5 spicy after being talked down from a 4 but was disappointed it wasn't spicy enough. However, the portion was HUGE and he got 4 whole meals out of it. It was a rice dish with seafood and curry, super delicious. It has shrimp, scallops and some other seafood. I had the Thai fried rice. I also got a 3/5 spicy but felt mine was the perfect amount of spice. Other than the onions and random huge pieces of tomato, it was delicious! I'm not sure which is more disappointing, the fact that there was almost no chicken in this dish or that the chicken that was there had all the breading slide right off once the fork touched it. There was zero "crispy" in this dish, soggy dough balls with a few tiny pieces of chicken. $19 for this? If I had to guess, maybe 1/4 pound of actual chicken here. It's been a bit since I've done Mr Thai. I recall it being pretty darn good in the past. If this is the norm, that's no longer the case. They have tvs hanging in every corner which I did find a little distracting. Wrestling tv shows and Thai don't go well together. But let's get to the important part the food. Food is delicious. It's well done Thai. Very consistent with great flavor. I love Pad See Ew. I get all judgy if you don't see the rice noodles charred from being pan fried. There was browning on them so they passed! Whew! I do wish they used wider rice noodles but still they were delicious. Curry's have a great flavor. I seem to expect no so runny curry but that was fine too. Service was stellar. COVID FRIENDLY! I'm tired of eating my own cooking! Luckily Mr. Thai welcomes you during these weird times by being mindful of your safety. They will accommodate your distancing needs by bringing the order to you car-side by calling them when you arrive or the option to come inside to pick up your order. Don't worry! The staff wears a mask! I chose to stay outside the front door to receive my food. After signing the credit card slip, the gentleman conveniently has a pump of hand sanitizer ready for you and graciously squrited the sanitizer in my hands after signing. It reminds me of the bathroom attendees at the clubs! All they are missing are some cologne and swisher sweets. lol They go the whole 9 yards for COVID safety measures. I felt like a VIP! The food remained warm and delicious by the time I got home. And the food presentation did not lack even as take out. The owner is very friendly and despite hardship during the crisis maintains a positive attitude. "Just gotta hang in there and keep going. Yummy, the best Thai food I've had thus far! Stopped by for dinner during the week and we were the only ones dining in. The server (he might be the owner) quickly told us to pick a table and he dropped off the menus. There were a lot of yummy dishes to look from so we ended up ordering three to share. We ordered a chicken fried rice, a tom yum soup, and a chicken veggie delight dish. All with medium spice. He said they had three different spice levels. The soup came out first and it was piping hot. It was severed to us in a hot pot with the flame lit inside. The soup was really good but it was really really spicy. The broth is delicious. The chicken fried rice has got to be one of the best ones I've ever tasted! It was so good! The chicken veggie delight was also really good and had a unique flavor.
