Yellow Curry, Drunken Noodle, Tom Kha Chicken Soup
Gina L.

Came by on a Tuesday evening around 7pm. No one was dining, so my friend and I waited at the hostess stand for ~5 min before the host/server showed up. She was very friendly, and told us to sit wherever. We split the tom kha (small bowl), yellow curry w chicken, and drunken noodles w beef, all level 3-4 for spice. Drunken noodles and soup came out very quickly, with the curry following soon after. Curry only came with one rice, but we asked for another. Proteins across all dishes were overcooked (chicken and beef) and quite dry. Drunken noodles was on the blander side with some green bell pepper as the veggie. Tom Kha was tasty, but also guilty of overcooked protein. Had decent amount of veggies and mushrooms inside, and the flavor of the soup was good. Yellow curry flavor was good, with bits of carrot and potatoes. They did get the spice level right, and the server gave us a pepper flake shaker if we wanted to make it a bit spicier. Saw lots of takeout orders being picked up from here while we dined. Overall, I have beef with the overcooked protein combined w the portion sizes; they weren't the biggest but looked inviting on large, shallow plates. The lady working was very friendly though!

Service was friendly and food was delicious. We got the basil fried rice with chicken and the cashew nuts entree with shrimp. We asked for the fish sauce with pepper on the side to add a bit more flavor and spice. Yummy for sure! It took a while to check out of the establishment because there was only one server with 3 tables of customers and lots of food pick-ups.

Pineapple Fried Rice, Pad See Ew, and Crispy Garlic Chicken

We love a good Thai takeout and this place hit the spot. Our regular spot has gotten worse with every order so we needed to find a new Thai restaurant. Pineapple fried rice was flavorful, loved the addition of raisins, similar to how my mom makes it. Pad See Ew was a small portion compared to what I'm used to seeing but flavorful and the mild spice was perfect. The star of the show was the crispy garlic chicken. 10/10 super crispy well seasoned chicken and I'd order that dish next time as well. Can't wait to try some more menu items.

Came here for Tom Ka and eggplant dish! There are plenty of parkings and it's a cute place. Tom Ka was ok as it was bit too sweet, Eggplant basil with pork was yummy- yet eggplant could be cooked a bit more! And the sauce was flavorful. And their portion, in terms of food dishes seems a bit smaller than other places! Service was good!

The service here was incredible! Our waitress was delightful. The atmosphere was laid back and pleasant. We ordered the Thai tea, Thai hot drunken noodles, red curry, and sticky rice with ice cream! The Drunken Noodles were majorly delicious. I have a really hard time finding food that is spicy enough for me, but this noodle dish satisfied the itch. Next time I may opt for Super hot, which is a level above. It was spicy, but it didn't overshadow the delicious blend of Thai spices. The actual noodles were thin and just wonderful. Big win for a drunken noodle enthusiast! The red curry was also delicious. It was served steaming hot. This was definitely a sweeter curry. This was not my husband's favorite but I was a fan! If you are craving a more savory curry I wouldn't go for the red. It also made delicious leftovers which I appreciated. The sticky rice was alright. The ice cream was delicious! The rice had hardened a little bit and was almost... chewy? It formed together in rigid clump which wasn't my favorite, but the flavor was good! Mangoes were out of season or else we would have tried the mango sticky rice! The Thai tea was amazinggggg. Our server also gave us another boba on the house and we opted for the taro milk tea! The taro was pretty dang good. Overall we had a wonderful time and will DEFINITELY be back for the drunken noodles and to try a few other dishes!

We found this place on a whim and I'm so glad we tried it. It's a very nice low light restaurant good for going with friends and eating some good food. The service was very friendly and quick which was a plus. We ordered the massaman curry which I will now be ordering for now on it was so creamy and had a great flavor. We also ordered pad see ew with beef and it was delicious. Lots of vegetables which I love. I can't wait to come back to this place!

Good! Big curry portions. The yellow curry and chicken pumpkin curry are good options. Big bowls. I left STUFFED. Very friendly and accommodating service. If I went back I'd get the Kao Soi. It's like the yellow curry but better under the specialty menu and much tastier.

This place is a mile from my house and we've always wanted to go but keep forgetting. I follow their social media and when they posted that they were under new ownership and then saw people raving, I knew we had to go. It was amazing!! Lunch prices are really reasonable and the portions are large. Garlic chicken was tender breast meat, thin breading, and a rich sauce. I had the chicken pad Thai with Thai spicy sauce and wow, amazing and so hot!! Every bite was delicious and burned my mouth but I loved it. I ordered the brown sugar milk tea boba and it was the best ever and was the cutest presentation and only $6. We will go back again and again and cannot wait. Run there now!

The best spot to come, we always enjoy eating here -today went out of my old favorite and thrived yellow curry with tofu -it was amazing, taste out of this world . Definitely will be having this again.. as always excellent service, fast friendly, clean inside , not expensive at all with big portions.

Excellent place for Thai food. Quick friendly professional service and extensive menu with plenty of options. Great prices and good portions. Easy plaza parking.

Just a quick update, went back today. Very clean as always, super friendly staff, and my Red Curry Chicken (Hot) was absolutely delicious. Very creamy and a great spice level as well. Chon Thai, still a 10/10!

Spring Rolls, Tom Yum Veggies Soup, L3. Drunken Beef Noodle, drunken veggie noodle
Paula C.

The last time we were here was pre-covid I decided since it was close to the house to have a nice walk to dinner. Chon Thai used to have great food, and I had been dreaming about their Tom Yum Veggie Soup. I was greeted at the entrance; told I could find a seat and was handed a menu. I started with the spring rolls from the appetizers list. When it came out it was a perfect temperature. However, once biting into it the texture was off. It was not crispy, and the sauce was horrible. No flavor and just tasted gross. I'm not sure if the oil is old as it's the only thing, I can think of that would cause the rolls to taste so off. So, I ate only one and decided to forgo the other two. For the main course, we ordered 1 medium spicy beef drunken noodle and one Thai Spicy Veggie drunken noodle. (Thai Spicy was for me). The noodles are thinner than we're used to, but they were cooked right. The flavors were off though. No flavor and there were stringy chunks of egg in my drunken noodle. The Tom Yum soup was the biggest disappointment. All I could taste was tomato base and it was just plain. Service was mediocre and I just don't see us coming back here. Keep in mind this restaurant has an additional charge of 3.5% if you pay by credit card, but if you pay cash, they give you a discount of 5%.

The drink was delicious: loved the salty foam on the top and the coffee was tasty as always. The boba was chewy and cooked well. Price was comparable to other boba spots: $5.99 plus $0.75 for boba. Would come back when in the area to try other drinks, and maybe some food!

There are usually a couple gals behind the counter, watching the screen while you place your order ... waiting patiently as you peruse their many choices, trying to decide which tea to order. They are super friendly and very helpful. This visit we ordered the ginger chai, vanilla bean cream latte. I preferred the ginger chai, but my sister thought hers was betters. Our second visit we ordered the orange bianco, along with the cream earl grey milk teas. Both also wonderful. Today we ordered the raspberry chocolate milk tea and cocoa cream matcha. I may sound like a broken record, but yes, they were wonderful. It is NOT a boba tea shop; it was, but no longer. Incidentally, if you come the "back" way, entering off Warner vs Dobson, the signage on the back side still says Ni Hao. :-) Since we've already visited them three times, I think it's pretty clear we would highly recommend their teas.

Every detail is thoughtfully curated and you'll feel comforted and welcomed by the employees. They have fantastic tea quality! If you love tea, you will not be disappointed. The croffles are also great. Some other cafes bog down their croffles with toppings and sugar, but here they put just the right amount. They're not cloyingly sweet. I highly recommend getting the sugar on the regular croffle. It caramelizes and adds a pretty sheen and crunch without taking away from the croissant base. It is very clean and quiet inside during less busy hours. TeaMakers has a medium-small amount of seating featuring both hard table tops and a comfy couch sitting area. With their current setup, you can fit a group of up to 4 at their biggest tables. TeaMakers & Company excels in everything already despite being so newly opened. I truly do not have any constructive criticism to give at this time, and I've been there multiple times already.

Amazing flavor and taste. Highly recommended!!…read more I finally got to try it out after a long waited and highly anticipated visit. Suffice to say, Gozen Kampuchea passes my highest expectations! The taste and quality is superb and unmatched. It's delicate yet subtle. The complexity is there, with rich boldness and flavors that highlight the original leaf. It reminds me of being back in Hokkaido in Japan. Definitely recommend it. It tasted just like the Matcha back in Japan. Next time I'm trying the Matcha cake roll. It's quite comfortable here as the wooden dust and tables really give it a great ambience for getting work done! Music selection was on-point. Loved it. Service is amazing! Super friendly!!! And lightning fast too. They also have a kiosk for ordering as well. Memory Lane Reminiscence: I remember when there was a Fry's grocery next-door to here. There was also an FYE at one point. My family is from Taiwan and so I was looking forward to coming here and giving it a try. Now granted, I am picky when it comes to Taiwanese food, so if not made right, you will know about it. We ordered the ground pork over rice and Taiwanese braised pork over rice combos. Both dishes were pretty good. I dont have high expectations here in Phoenix and I was pleasantly surprised! We also checked out their cold case and lots of comforting dishes like Taiwanese pickled cabbage, marinated pig ears, marinated seaweed and tofu gan. We got an order of the seaweed and tofu gan and it was good. Also had a boba tea to go and it was as expected. Boba was chewy like it should be and for $3.35, pretty good deal. Overall, the food was good and there is a specials daily menu by the cash register but its written in Chinese, so you probably need to ask the owner what specials they are having or bring me with you! When we came tonight there was eel over rice, 3 cups chicken over rice combo and papaya milk and green bean sweet soup. I'd definitely come back here again when Im in the mood for Taiwanese food but I would skip dining in. I felt like I was in some school cafeteria, zero ambiance. But the food was legit!
