My sister and I tried Thai Peppers today. We ordered the fresh rolls for an appetizer, and it was delicious. I had the Pad See Ew and my sister had the mango salad with grilled salmon. We were both raving during the whole lunch and the only negative thing was that the mango chunks in her salad were still partially frozen. We will definitely go back. Also need to mention the server was warm, welcoming, and helpful. He saved me when I ordered the spice level 4 of 5 and I changed it to a 3. Love this place. Their guava drink is just great. Their yellow curry is to die for. Make sure you leave a little room for desert as the fried banana and coconut ice cream is yummy! I ordered the Basil Chicken Stir Fry and a small Tom Yum soup. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was friendly, but the food did not meet expectations. The basil chicken had almost no basil flavor at all. I only found a single basil leaf in the entire dish, which took away from what should be a signature ingredient. The Tom Yum soup was fine, but not memorable, and the spice level across both dishes was surprisingly mild for a Thai restaurant. Yummy! Were were happy to find they stayed open until 9. We arrived at 730pm on a Thursday. Greeted right away and told to sit where we wanted. Pretty full. The place is small and intimate for cute and cozy feelings. Clean and organized. Service was very welcoming and kind. We ordered the house fried rice with pork and chicken. Sooo delicious ! Full of flavor and yummy vegetables. Chose a 2 level spice and was not spicy at all (we have a lower spice tolerance). Good size plate. Also got the yellow curry with tofu, level 2 spice. The spice was only at the end, I kind of want to try a level 3. It was tasty, potato's could have been a little softer but still enjoyable. Came to check this place out on a Tuesday at the start of happy hour (4-6). They offered $2 off all beers and wine. They were not busy, one table occupied. It's a clean, small mom and pop with open style booths down one side and a couple small tables towards the front. The gentleman behind the counter greeted us immediately and offered to sit wherever we like. We ordered fresh spring rolls which were very good, nice and fresh and large. The peanut dipping sauce was excellent. I tried the pad Thai and my mom tried the drunken noodles. I ordered 3/5 or "hot" and she ordered 0/5. The pad Thai was a bit wet, it could have used a bit less sauce. It was almost a soup. The noodles were good but there unfortunately was almost no spice. I was pretty disappointed, as I was really looking forward to sweating from some good Thai spice. 3/5 should be hot, not mild. Was the weakest "hot" I've ever had. We shared the chicken panang, pot stickers, orange chicken, and honey pork, and every single plate impressed. The chicken panang was rich and comforting with deep, complex flavor, the pot stickers were perfectly cooked, and the honey pork was tender with just the right touch of sweetness. We loved that you can choose your spice level, and we tried medium, hot, and Thai hot. Each one delivered exactly what it promised without overwhelming the flavor of the dish. OK wanted some spicy Thai food for early dinner and decided to try this place. It was early dinner so they weren't too busy. Friendly staff, nice clean restaurant. Looking at the menu I noticed the prices were little bit on the high end. Was debating on appetizers but after being told it was happy hour and it's $4 we decided to get some crispy chicken pot stickers and crab puff. Ordered pad Thai and beef massaman curry. One thing I don't like at restaurants is that every little things cost extra. Pot stickers were pretty good, nice crispy skin and meat inside was pretty good. The seed semi sticky soy sauce dipping sauce was really good. Crab puff was not bad, not my favorite appetizer. Pad Thai was pretty good, it had good amount of sauce mixed in and not too dry. My curry was pretty good, ordered Thai hot with beer (which was extra ). I was not too fan of the type of beef they used, they were little on the tough side. Now the heat level. Ummm I think someone fell asleep when adding the spice. I would compare to mild and maybe half way through medium.. Very disappointed on the heat. Over all service was good and food was pretty good. I would give this place 3 and half stats but since I can't do 3. 5, I opted for 4 vs 3. I probably would not come back here for the portion and cost but it is not too shabby. read more

When Asian families sit down to eat a meal together, the food is served and enjoyed communally.  I think Joyce missed this memo because she was all about not sharing her duck curry. *teary eyes* I kid, of course. She offered everyone at the table some duck but I wanted the whole dish because, after all, give a man an inch and I'll take the whole ruler! That and the succulent duck swimming in the pineapple curry was amazing. It was more flavorful than my chicken massaman curry. We also shared some HH vegetarian gyozas, which I enjoyed, and some coconut shrimp which is so coconut, the only way it would be more coconut is if a coconut fell off a tree and knocked you on the kisser. If I ordered the duck curry, this place would be five stars. But since I ordered an inferior dish, my broken heart can only give a four star. Do you ever have one of those moments where you realize you have finally found a neighborhood spot that is pretty good? Well this is one of those moments for me. I have live next to nearby or behind several restaurants over the years and somehow I always manage to live by the restaurant that aren't that great. This time I lucked up and moved near one of the best Thai restaurants in town. Cannot rave enough about their food. Super authentic and super flavorful. One of the best items on the menu is the tom Kha soup which I've ordered several times. Definitely recommend having it in the restaurant as the portion size just feels bigger even though it's probably not. I have also ordered several of the curries and none of them have disappointed. Pepper Fact: Thai peppers are spicy chili peppers with a wide range of heat, and despite common belief, there is no single type of Thai pepper, with at least 79 separate varieties. If you know me, you know my top two proteins include duck. This place has roasted duck curry (All-natural roasted duck served with tomatoes, pineapples, green beans, bell peppers, and basil leaves in their signature pineapple curry). That's all I needed to know before I invited some friends out for dinner. They have a pretty decent happy hour, which includes beer specials and appetizers that are $4 off. We had ordered the vegetarian gyoza and coconut shrimp with the HH discount, and I ordered the roasted duck curry for my entree. Everything was delightful. I was especially enamored by the two thick duck drums that came in my curry. Who does that?! Apparently, Thai Peppers Thai Kitchen does. The duck was cooked perfectly, and the creamy curry was flavorful with a nice level of heat. Love this place. I want to come back for some more roasted duck curry. read more

OMG, I think we just found our new favorite Thai restaurant! The food was absolutely amazing. I wish I could give Thai Pepper 6/5 stars! I had ordered the Green Curry and it was SO GOOD. I even stole a few bites of my family's dishes because they all looked delicious! (& they were!! The Kao Soi is a must!) We were seated near the back of the restaurant and found it to be perfectly intimate for our party of 5. Our waiter was super and we received our food very promptly! You truly can't go wrong with whatever menu item you pick. The service here is top notch- the workers here are always SO nice. I commented on how good their tofu is and the waiter told me what I could buy to make mine taste similar! The restaurant is always nice and clean. We got take out and food was prepared quickly and our order was accurate even though we asked for a few substitutions. The lady in front who took our order was very friendly and happy. We ordered yellow curry which was one of the best I have ever had. We also got chicken satay which were great but nothing super special. The pad see ewe was the only thing that wasn't great. There's a decent amount of seating, four tables of four, a table for six, and some bar seating. It's in a strip mall with plenty of parking. It was somewhat dimly lit, it'd be a nice place for a date night. My dad liked everything we ordered, and that's saying a lot as he can be a picky eater. We ordered chicken satay, chicken potstickers, pad Thai with chicken, Thai pepper fried rice with tofu, and Thai pepper salad with chicken. It was all tasty! Heads up! We ordered one dish with medium spiciness and it was almost too hot. Mild spiciness was just right. Great service! The server kept an eye on us all night, kept our waters topped off. I ordered takeout, one of the items was a 32 oz soup. At home I measured and it was only 22-24 oz. A difference of 8-10 oz is substantial.. I called and complained and she didn't believe me so she had me bring it in. Immediately met with defensiveness even though I'm trying to work with her. She had to pour it into her own measuring cup to verify that I wasn't lying. No apologies, just excuses. I understand the desire not to overfill the container. I asked if maybe we can compromise and I'll call in and specially request filling the container closer to its capacity.. but she dismissed it and said she will be changing the menu to no longer say 32 oz. Doubt it but we'll see. Anyways, someone took the container to the back and filled it up with more broth (nearly 100% sure that no extra chicken/mushrooms were added). I could tell she just wanted me to stop talking and leave so she could move on. Just sad how this restaurant values pumping out orders and cheaping out on the smallest things. It's obvious that their attempt to create a welcoming family type environment pays off when it's packed even during off hours. I liked all the vegan options, but the vegan chicken tasted terrible. Worse than tofu. I ordered the lunch special with vegan curry and received chicken soup as the side. It was an easy mistake to make, but they didn't offer to replace it with anything vegan. $15 is already really steep for a lunch special, and I didn't even get the side. Thanks to Yelp, my hubby and I found ourselves at Thai Peppers. We love Thai food, and after seeing a review that mentioned their awesome vegan orange chicken, we were sold on giving it a try. (I am vegan, hubby is not but mostly eats plant based.) Anyway, we ordered the crispy vegan potstickers (forgot to take a pic, but they were delicious), the vegan orange chicken, and the veggie lovers sautee with vegetables as my "protein" (although I could have chosen tofu or maybe the vegan chicken as other meat-free alternatives). In any case, both entrees we ordered were absolutely delicious, and even though orange "chicken" is far from typical Thai, we quickly decided we will be returning to order some more-traditional Thai dishes. Popped in on 10/28 a few minutes before 4pm. Almost cried because I saw the closed sign (I was crazing Thai food!) but then realized they are only closed between 3 and 4 pm. Excellent food and service! It's not an overly large place, and they definitely do a pretty steady business in take-out orders. Their decor is very colorful and sets the ambiance for the entirety of your stay. Our receipt showed Lester as our server, but we had a young woman assist us for most of the evening, but we didn't catch her name. She brought waters immediately, and was very attentive the entire time we were there. The food was well spiced, steaming hot, its presentation was top-notch, and it is definitely money well spent. The guava soda was something I had never had before and it was delicious! After devouring the appetizers of fresh rolls and crab puffs, we barely touched our food -- but only because we were saving room for the purple sticky rice. A must have, for sure. We each ordered one (one w/ mango, one w/ coconut ice cream). She cautioned us that it was shareable, but we didn't listen. We should have. It was definitely a larger portion of rice & ice cream than any other Thai restaurant we have been to. They even had little balls of mochi. Double delicious treat. I went there for the first time with my stepdad, I expected a big restaurant but it's small, cozy and personal. I first ordered the chicken dumplings, you can have them fried or boiled and I chose boiled. They also gave me this tangy sauce to eat with the dumplings. Next ordered the orange chicken with white jasmine rice and it was very delicious my stepdad ordered a beef fish and he was happy. I was too full to have dessert, therefore I asked for a cup of jasmine tea. The tea was soothing and relaxing. We will definitely come back again. read more
