Also, it was a pretty large serving with plenty of squid, shrimp, scallops, and mahi mahi. Service was fast and good, other than it took a few minutes longer to prepare mine compared to our other dishes (4/5). My favorite menu item is the Pad Thai, but occasionally I like to mix it up and get the Yellow Curry with tofu. It is clear this is a popular spot, as tables fill quickly during the lunch hour. My wife also ordered her favorite Thai Sticky Mango Rice. Ambiance 5/5 Zero curb appeal like many strip mall eateries but inside it was quaint, clean and nicely decorated. Food 4/5 I really enjoyed my Beef Pad Kee Mao. The rice noodles were traditional wide flat and the dish was fresh and the flavors were spot on! I added Thai hot spice which was milder than some of my other Thai go-to's. I suspect they made it milder not believing I wouldn't enjoy it that spicy, I get it. The dish was excellent! My wife wasn't too excited with her vegetable fried rice, mostly due to the rice itself not being fried long enough. She wouldn't order it again. The Sticky Mango rice was another story. She crowned this the best of her favorite Resturant's. If I convince her to give the restaurant a second chance by trying something else like one of their Curries I won't need to visit solo to enjoy my Thai noodles. The food here is good and the staff very efficient; not overly friendly but at least polite. The thing that bothers me most about this place is the front door is filthy. Every time I go there I am amazed that they can't just take some soap and water and clean the door and handle. I always have to go and wash my hands after going in because it's just so dirty...and then you see the filthy bathroom door. It's incredibly off putting and yesterday I just decided - it's not worth it. I've been coming to Tum Nak Thai for over 15 years. This family owned restaurant never disappoints. The owners work hard and they truly enjoy what they do. They will remember you and they'll remember your order, exactly how you like (like no carrots and double the broccoli for me!). I've heard so many good things about this place, so we were super excited to try it out because we were in the area. The atmosphere and service were both pretty good, but the food didn't match. We started with the Fried Wontons (Keaw Todd), which were barely edible. They tasted stale and like old grease. We also ordered Entrees. My Dad got a chicken dish with garlic in it, and I went for the Pad Thai with Chicken. My Dad could best describe his dish as "low-quality". I tried a bite and had to agree. At most Thai restaurants I order my food hot ... omg I had it 'hot' ( the spice level ) and thought my mouth was on fire. Tip: order 1 level down from your norm if you do Thai frequently. I arrived at Tum Nak Thai 7:47pm. I realized the online said they closed at 830pm, so i wanted to be sure i got there before they had some kitchen cuttoff time. Anyways, they were open, so i walked in. Other customers were seated, and so i waited for someone to speak with to be seated. No one in sight. I waited. And waited. And waited. 21 minutes later, staff appeared. Took some phone orders. Then, they looked at me. I asked if i could sit and order. She said, yes, what do you want to order. I asked if i should sit first. She said no. Then asked if i wanted takeout. I repeated myself, can i please sit down and eat? She said no. Do you want takeout? It took 25 minutes for me to experience being told they wouldn't serve me. I get places like to close kitchens a few minutes before close. But this was just plain rude. Refusing to appear ina 20 minute span, then, while other customers were seated, to tell someone to go away or order takeout. It was just too brutal. Do they have good food? Who knows. Are the people good to deal with? Doubt it. Is the experience good? Highly unlikely. A poor restaurant with a terrible perception that human beings may want to pay them money to enjoy their food. 0 stars would be better rating. read more

Got masaman and green curries (rice is included, which is nice). The veggies are so delicious, but unfortunately the broth was extremely salty--not spicy, but overly salty. I definitely think this place has authentic recipes, so I was initially willing to pay a little bit more. However, the small portion sizes + the not-great curries changed my mind. Tum Nak Thai's biggest appeal is their unbeatable $8.95 lunch special. However, their food is far from the best Thai I've had and I can't see myself paying full price for anything. Parking lot was spacious but they get crowded inside during lunch time. Their weekday lunch specials include 10 different entrees served with one egg roll. All portion sizes were made for one so I don't recommend sharing a lunch special. Service is very fast and we always finished our meals within an hour. =FOOD= The spice level can be: none, mild, spicy, and very spicy. Recommend starting at spicy if you want to feel any heat. *Thai Iced Coffee: the large cup was bigger than my head. Perfect for a caffeine hit and had a nutty creaminess. *Thai Tea: must get. Strong, sweet tea flavor. *Yellow Curry: incredibly watery with no semblance of thickness or flavor. There wasn't any fragrance or spice from the curry base and the included vegetables were on the harder side. Whole dish needed to be rendered down further. *Pad See Ew: the sauce was on the sweeter side, with minimal caramelization. The noodles were very thin and short, almost precut into inch squares. Chicken was tender but the broccoli and carrots were undercooked. Had potential the flat rice noodles was disappointing. *Pepper Steak: suffered from the same watery fate as the curry. On the saltier side and I would add some heat to have a different flavor profile. Vegetables were cooked well and the onions were sweet. Sauce needed to be cooked longer to concentrate flavors and properly coat the beef and vegetables. *Egg Roll: barely had any vegetable filling. Just an oily log. Definitely an affordable and fast lunch spot but it wouldn't be my go to Thai sit down spot. Especially with the $6 markup post lunch, the quality wouldn't reflect the $15 price tag. However, their beverages were remarkable and I will return whenever I need a sugar rush. read more
