The ambience here was amazing! Super fun and lively on Monday Memorial Day weekend, in the evening. Yet, it was easy to get a table. The service was fantastic. They had these cards on the table that you could flip over if you wanted a server to come help you out, and flip the opposite side over if you were all set. The lamb birria was flavorful the meat itself so tender. The tacos were my favorite though! Tacos in paratha = game changing! I thought the price was fair for the amount of food that we got. I have had this on my need to try list for a while. I love Indian and Mexican food. I was in Virginia visiting my daughter, and we we were in the area, so we popped in for some appetizers. Loved the look and the feel of the restaurant. It's open, modern, and clean. They had a card on the table that one side says you are good and the other side says you need service. Loved this. Didn't have to wave anybody down or try to catch someone's attention. Just flip the card. We were brought chips and salsa. The salsa was garlicky and delicious. The chips had a weird mouth feel. Could not put a finger on it. We only ordered the wings and the Kathi Roll. My dispointment set in at first bite. I love a fusion idea, but sadly, they missed the mark here. The wings were bland. The "exotic sauce" was bland. The mango haabanero sauce had some heat but was cloying sweet and tasted nothing like mango. The Kathi Roll was a hot mess. It looked more like a crepe than a Roll. The tortilla was gummy due to the wet mess in it. My daughter asked to more of the mint sauce that came with the wings, and they had the audacity to try to charge me $3 for it. Ambiance: Very busy place, always call ahead for reservation. Since it's always busy, it's always loud too. Service was great! Food arrived relatively quickly. If you are a party of 10 or more they have a separate room called butterfly for a private dining experience. Food: we ordered masala queso, which was amazing. Came with good recommendations. I loved the crispness of the fries and the heat kick and flavours of the Masala Fries. My partner and I wanted a lighter meal and we opted for salads. There's a good blend of Indian and Mexican inspired meals and we both really enjoyed it. The portions are excellent and I would say the prices are reasonable. The decor has a funky hippy kinda feel but you don't really need that cheesy Mexican styling that's is so prevalent in most of these restaurants. Tiger mama delivered! Decor is fun and looks casual from the outside, but the food was magnificent! We sat in the back dining room and had excellent service from Abby - love their little green / red service cards. The drinks are tasty and the perfect strength - we had guava wah wah and kama sutra. Great mixes of sweet, spicy, and salty. The guava was a real standout - the masala rim was such a unique counterpart to the sweet guava and spicy jalapeño flavors. But the great tastes didn't stop there. Masala fries with chicken were almost like a meal. The chicken actually didn't work so well with the fries - was hoping for shredded but it was diced so maybe skip that next time. In terms of entrees, the paner con panblano was so good and also light - yummy garam masala sauce that was just the right thickness and with plenty of side! You'll need a to go box. The enchiladas were also good - again, the chicken just wasn't good here (a bit dry) but the spinach cheese was so creamy and good. They also were able to accommodate food requests to avoid onions. Finally, with what little room we had left, we went for the flan, which was exceptionally flavored with sweet and salty custard coconut goodness. Overall, would highly recommend! Came here to meet up with some friends. Make sure to go early to avoid the dinner rush. The restaurant is pretty big, but the place will get busy. The chips and salsa were pretty good. The missus and I started off with the masala fries. That was delicious. Ensure that if you are there to take advantage of the happy hour specials, it's from Monday through Friday and it's only until 6:30 pm at the bar only. The fries would have been only $7 for the special and it's $11 regular price. I thought about going to the bar to order the HH specials while my wife waited for the friends. For my drink, I had the Jarritos, which was just okay. My wife got a mango lassi and it was good. For my main, I had the butter chicken remix. I was a little disappointed by it. The wife ordered the tacos and it also was just okay. I think that for next time, I will try the HH specials at the bar. I'm looking forward to trying the tikka wings and the tres leches dessert. This restaurant offers a unique fusion of Indian and Mexican cuisine. A great concept with a ton of interesting menu items and respectable portion sizes. Once seated, I started with the Guava Wah Wah margarita. The drink had the perfect amount of spice combined with the sweet flavor of guava juice. Wasn't the biggest fan of the chaat masala rim, as I typically prefer salt or sugar, however, I'd still recommend giving this flavor a try. My main dish was the Camarones Tacos. To be fair, I wanted to try something that had a bit of Mexican inspiration and Indian taste, but kept it simple given it was my first time. The tacos were very flavorful and the shrimp was juicy. Also, the crispy cheese made a pleasant difference in the texture of the tacos, offering a bit of crunch to every bite. Given how filling the taco was, I only was able to finish one and took the rest back home. Chips and salsa for the table were decent, but really didn't eat too much of it. Service was warm and efficient with the food coming out within 10 minutes from placing our order. Overall, a great experience that I'm sure a lot of people locally enjoy as well. Mama Tigre has been on my list for more than half a year now after seeing many people eat there and rave about it. I'm glad I finally got to stop by for dinner today since I was in the area with a couple friends. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the atmosphere and vibe was not at all what I expected. It was incredibly lively and packed for a Wednesday night, with lots and lots of customers. This is what I'd expect for a weekend night, not hump day. Fortunately, we were seated pretty shortly. My friends and I were given tortilla chips and salsa along with water right after we set down. The chips were fried nicely and the salsa was flavorful but a little runny (and it dripped a few spots on the menu, rip). The servers were pretty nice and took our orders quickly, but they didn't really come check on us after that. We ended up waiting 30+ minutes for our food and fortunately, we were able to flag our server down to inquire. Turns out, they lost our ticket and the manager (I think) offered us free dessert on the house, which was very nice! Our food came out pretty quickly afterwards. MASALA ENCHILADAS - CHICKEN (2) - 17 I chose this entree because I wanted a fusion of both Mexican and Indian cuisine! The enchiladas were smothered and drizzled with spicy queso-tikka masala sauce and crema. It also comes with a side of rice (well seasoned and can be enjoyed alone), charro beans, and small bed of shredded iceberg lettuce. I really liked eating all of it together to get a mix of the spice-heavy sauce, the comforting flavors of enchiladas, the hearty rice and beans, topped with the refreshing crunch of lettuce. So many flavors and textures mixed together for a tasty bite. It's definitely on the heavier side and the portion size is big, so I have enough for lunch tomorrow. DESI TRES LECHES - 8 This was much too sweet for us, unfortunately. We were also not a fan of the rose syrup because it tasted artificial. I personally thought the toppings (pistachio and cardamom) were nice touches that made the tres leches more unique. From my first glance of the menu, the food here is primarily Mexican (almost like tex mex?) with an Indian twist. A lot of the sauces or sides were more Indian inspired (naan and tikka masala sauce) while most entrees were comfort Mexican options. The flavors went well together and I enjoyed the fusion. The pricing here is justified for the amount of good food they give you. Solid 4/5! read more

This is one of my favorite places for drinks so my husband and I went today to have some. We sat down at the bar and my husband asked if they could make a mojito (which is not an unreasonable request at a place that also serves margs) and the bartender dismissively said no and pointed to the menu and said "this is all we have" and proceeded to rush away without asking what I wanted or offering suggestions. I am not sure if it was busy (didn't look too slammed) or if we are young adults so he assumed we wouldn't tip him.... Pretty disappointing so we took our money elsewhere! This place was recommended by someone because I had lived in the DMV for a while but I had not branched out. This was such a cute cozy spot. I definitely hope to come again!! It was my first time having a mixture of Mexican and Indian fusion. I went with a group of friends and we all shared the Masala Fries and Tikka Wings. I also got a Mango Lassi, but I wouldn't recommend it because the portion size was not worth the price. I had the Classic Chicken Fajita as my entrée. When I was half way through, my friend noticed that my order was missing the side of rice, beans, cheese, sour cream and tortillas. We ended the night with Desi Tres Leches and Cajeta Kulfi Ice Cream. Everything was good, but I think we were too hungry for any of the dishes to stand out to us. The only downside was my friend called ahead and they confirmed no wait time, however there was a wait time of at least an hour once we got there. Three of us picked the best weather day and sat outside. It's quite pleasant outside since it's not near the Highway or right in the parking lot. It's also shaded well. We started with the chips and salsa which they keep coming. We ordered the queso and the ceviche. The queso was addictive. Best when warm when it first comes out. The ceviche was good but more "soupy" than I expected. The plan was for me to get the fish tacos and one friend to get the pork's ones and we switch one taco for one taco. We asked them to make the switch in the kitchen. They ultimately did it but they take their "no combo" rule seriously! I liked the fish taco best and would get it again. This is more of a 3.5 rating but some of the things that I found to not be up to par was just my personal preference. Service-started out a little rocky. Came in right at 4pm on a Friday afternoon and had to wait at the host stand for about 5 minutes before anyone came to seat us. Yes, it's a little bit of an off time... Food- This was our first time eating here and I was looking forward to trying the Mexican/Indian Fusion flavors. Chips/salsa-very good fresh flavorful salsa. It has a little kick so be prepared. Masala steak burrito-husband ordered this and really enjoyed it. Not spicy at all to him, and he does love spice! Paneer skillet- This had a very good flavor and I did ask the server if it was spicy and he said no, and I told him I can't handle spice, but still was almost too spicy for me to enjoy! Also found the super small chunks of paneer cheese a little strange, would have liked them to be larger. It came with rice, black beans, tortillas and a fruit salsa. Those were all very good. Churros-we shared the churros dessert and it was delicious! Margarita-my hubs had a margarita and I had a sip and it was nicely prepared. The inside of the restaurant is nicely decorated with some murals on the wall. When we left about 5:45 on a Friday evening it was already very full! My mom and I went here for a late birthday dinner. Usually the food and service are nice but that night was awful. We were waiting what felt like 15 minutes just to be greeted, but never were. My mom had to go inside and ask kindly if anyone knew who are server was, to which this girl, who would be our server, gave her the most disgusting and ugly look I've ever seen. We were genuinely taken aback especially me since I forget people like that exist. Later, we put in our drinks and food and it was nice. Except for the part where she ignored us for the rest of the night. We had finished and were sitting there for 30 minutes. Mind you, it was a slow Tuesday night. She would walk down her row of tables and always turn around when she got to us. We tried looking and her and even raising our hand and waving, gesturing, etc, to which she'd look right at us and keep walking away. It wasn't until my mom again got up and paid the tab at the bar when our server suddenly remembered we existed and ran to our table to see where we were! She saw us through the window inside, looked annoyed and walked away. Girl that was your own fault? The funny thing is I'm a waitress as well. Have come here at least 5 or more times with family. The ambiance is very pretty and well designed. I think the only dishes I really like though are the chips and salsa that come complimentary with the meal and the Masala Burrito. The salsa that comes with the chips is bomb. Masala burrito is amazing fusion food, the masala sauce just WORKS when coated over a burrito with cheese. I've tried their fajitas and wasn't impressed, and recently tried the butter chicken remix. It was good and I enjoyed the naan that came with it instead of tortillas. However the dish was too salty. When eaten with all the sides including the pickled onions, it was good, but after a while the saltiness of the dish started overpowering my palette especially when I ran out of the pickled onion. Additionally, recently I came with my family, and we had multiple young children under 5 so we couldn't sit in the bar area. We asked the host if he would honor the happy hour special drink for us (which was literally only like a dollar or so off of the margarita price), and his answer verbatim was just "No". He tried hemming and hawing about saying how it'd be difficult to move us there with the high tables (we were a party of 6 with children ALREADY SEATED WITH DRINKS AND CHIPS!), and it was overall an unprofessional response to customers who were asking for a pretty reasonable exception to be made. Soured my overall opinion of the restaurant, and I don't think I'll be patronizing them as much in the future due to the unprofessional waitstaff. read more

Nachos: Good God. The state of this world has been putting me under extreme pressure lately. I nearly forgot the joys of a crispy, well-coated nacho chip.
