Stopped by for an early dinner and was able to catch the last 30-minutes of HH (yay!). From the HH menu, decided on the White Lotus cocktail (lychee, vodka, and lime) and the winter shrimp. Both solid choices! For my entree, I got the drunken noodles with beef, which was good, but not as spicy as I hoped for. Luckily they had a spice tray to bring out. Service was good, but if you want to make sure you can order off the HH menu in time, I suggest trying to grab a seat at their small bar (only a few seats). Been here for lunch prior when it was called "Burapa" now it's Vienna Thai and Bar. Place isn't that huge but alas enough seatings and bar area and was decorated with festive Fall Season theme. A little bit delayed in service at first but afterward moved fast. We came about 15-20 mins before happy hour and was able to order from there. HH M-F from 3-6pm! Honestly HH menu is full blown portion or at least to me. You'll see in my pics. We got the shrimp in blanket, Vienna Thai chicken fried rice ($11) , cocktail and from drunken noodles. I brought my mother here for her birthday and she told me it was some of the best Thai food she has ever had! The waiters were incredible and the vibes in this place are classic and cozy. I hope the Bar for your salt tolerance is high if you want to eat at this place... We stopped in on a Thursday and were seated immediately. The staff was very nice and efficient with getting our orders. The menu is HUGE which I found very overwhelming and surprisingly the staff recommend some of the more basic dishes. I tried the pad see ew, which I feel like is a good measure of quality due to it being so ubiquitous. It was extremely salty. My friend tried an entirely different eggplant dish which was also too salty. Overall, for the price point it was fine but I want wowed by the quality of the food. read more

I was very underwhelmed with our drunken noodles and pad see ew dishes at Vienna Thai. I ordered it mild spicy but there was no spice or flavor/sauce at all. I think they just didn't put any sauce at all, and the drunken noodles barely had any vegetables for how this dish is typically served. It's rare for me to not like these dishes as they're our family's go-to, but these were definitely much less flavorful than in other places we've gotten the same dishes from for a similar or cheaper price. On the plus side, the food was a large quantity and enough for 2 big meals each. read more

Recently moved to the Fairfax area and was in search of a good Thai place. My child's school had a fundraiser here so it was the perfect opportunity to try out their food. Everything we had was delicious and, as someone who doesn't really do spicy food, I was happy that the food wasn't too spicy for me to enjoy it. We had quite a long wait to get a carry out because they were so busy - another testament to how great this place is - so make sure you pack your patience when you go here to eat. Recently went back on random night. Still cute ambiance but location was pretty empty. The service was ok not wow well from the women but the guy there was nice since he brought my credit card back out for me that i left at the restaurant. She seem kind of cold but maybe she having a bad day. I got the Larb beef 4/5 ($16.95)- The flavor was good but I wouldn't call it Essan style it lack the Umami of fermented fish sauce but it was still sap and spicy. I would prefer it to be mince beef instead of ground beef for a more texture larbs like back in Thailand. It did come with sticky rice so it was nice fulfilling dinner. We've eaten in the restaurant and we did takeout for 7 people New Years Eve. Either way the food has been very good. Seems like they cook from scratch and everything tastes freshly made. The owners are wonderfully friendly and helpful. Our New Years Eve guests were very impressed and said they'd be looking forward to making plans to go there and dine in. read more

Seems like it's family owned, and the owners were really nice. I ordered the following: - Curry Puffs - they can make these vegetarian, which is awesome. Loved it. - Drunken Noodles - so flavorful and delicious. It's a bit on the spicy side, but I loved it. My husband got the fried banana dessert, and it was delicious. You know you've lived somewhere a long time when you have enjoyed three different Thai restaurants in the same location over the decades.  The place we once took our baby we now return to with a full grown adult who is a joy to spend a lunch with.  Thus, even though it is different name and perhaps a different manager, chef and staff, the Thai restaurant in this spot in Vienna (now called Vienna Thai & Bar) is still a pleasure to dine in.  Ginger Perfect is still on the menu and it is still very tasty as is the kapow basil.  Both of these were lunch specials that are very reasonably priced and include a tasty choice of appetizer.  We enjoyed both the spring roll and the gyoza (be careful though they were super, super hot the day we had them.)    The server was very attentive and warned us that the tea might be hot but I am giving you the head's up about the dumplings.  They and the sauce were great - just don't burn your mouth...  For dessert, we had the mango and sticky rice which is always a warm comfort when it is in season as well as the fried bananas and ice cream.  The space is decorated with floral murals and the tables are quite far apart so it feels very roomy.  There is plenty of parking in front and in back of the building. read more

Great backdrop and decor to take girly photos, which my girlfriend and I did. I ordered the Burapa Duck Roll which was delicious and I highly recommend. I also ordered the pork skewers and sticky rice, which was ok, but wasn't super impressed. The sticky rice and pork was a bit dry and the pork could have been marinated more. It came with a spicy sauce which was too spicy for me so I asked for sweet and sour and dumpling sauce, which enhanced the pork flavor. My friend ordered the Tofu Pad See Ew and the Blistered Shishito and enjoyed them. I was very surprised that no patrons came in while we were there since they have gotten good reviews. I hope they are getting more business as the owner is very nice, food was good, and ambiance is lovely. My wife and I decided to try Burapa Thai and Bar tonight, finally after they have been open 6 months. We were so glad we did, everything was amazing! I ordered the crispy duck with crispy basil. My wife ordered ground chicken krapow, and a mango margarita. The margarita was not too sweet which was perfect! My crispy duck was a half duck fried super crispy, with a sweet spicy chili sauce. Not too sweet and just the right amount of spicy. I have to say I was blown away by how good it was! My wife ordered the chicken krapow, which comes with an egg on top, which we both love an egg where you poke open the yolk and let the golden goodness ooze down over the dish. The krapow was not spicy, much more savory with a great flavor for soaking into the rice. Again, blown away. I would highly recommend Burapa Thai, and I would highly recommend the crispy duck! read more

This is a cute little restaurant with extremely friendly and attentive staff. Ambience was nice with great music playing. They have some great drinks and food items available for happy hour. The spicy mango margarita was very good and had great spice to it. The espresso martini was excellent! For food, we started with the duck rolls and edamame. Both were good with the duck roll standing out. For mains, we got the Bangkok street noodles and flank steak. I would order the street noodles again! I'd say the packaging may need some work though because when I opened it at home, the sauce/oil had spilled out of the container already. Had a great experience initially, but over time, like many restaurants, the quality of the food and service went down. During a previous visit, it took a long time to get food to the table and it wasn't carefully prepared when it arrived. Our most recent visit, the tofu was sour but neither the supervisor nor the waitress accepted any responsibility over the mistake and did not offer any discount. After as many times as we have been a repeat customer, the least they could have done is knock off one of the dishes. The panang curry was diluted and the the crispy dish was a bit soft instead of crispy, meaning it was not deep fried long enough. Less inclined to return. read more
