I had one of my best food experience there. I had their Fesenjan stew and my wife got ghorme Sabzi stew, it was amazing and it was our first time trying Persian stews. Definitely come back to try more food!

Amazing and fresh food and ! 10/10 experience dining in with them Very good service and very kind owner and staff

The chicken kabob is consistently undercooked. Please see the attached photo and always ask for meat to be cooked well done.

Absolutely the freshest cooked food around.. great customer service and the employees keep the restaurant very clean.. thank you

I ate before taking this picture and as you can see, still have a lot of food leftover. Great portion size!!

After a work shift, I wanted something that was healthy but fast and this place did not disappoint! Made a call-in order for their Saturday Sultani special and side of an appetizer. Sultani: / stars. A little on the salt by side but very edible, soft, delicious. This meat is expensive (~$40+) so I was over the moon to learn it was only $20.99 here! Portion size is incredible. I swapped my rice for full Persian salad and they were happy to do this at no extra charge! Appetizer: came with fresh bread. Chefs kiss! Workers were fun to chat with as I was waiting for the food. Great people, clean store, and nice all around vibes.

All three of the dips were a generous portion and the bread accompanying them is delicious. The bread was refilled 3 times during the meal. Very, very good. Each of the dips was different and very tasty. The Hummus was smooth and flavorful and the Spinach (served warm) had a garlic flavor. I took a lot of the dips home - the bread was so delicious, I filled up quickly. My friend thought the salad (Salad Alamut) was ok, but the soup (tomato based) was very good. We each had a decaf cappuccino, which were also very good. The service was outstanding. The bread basket was refilled several times and our water glasses were tended to very well. The place was not crowded and we had a leisurely lunch that lasted almost 3 hours. There was no impatience to present us with the bill, and, after we paid, we were still offered refills on water as we lingered for a few more minutes. Excellent service! We felt very welcomed here. The restaurant has a traditional Persian restaurant appearance. It's nice and light, a bit fancy in appearance, but not stuffy.

Interesting art on the wall and nice bathroom. Park on the parking garage below or on the side street/lot nearby. Make sure if you don't finish your lamb and ask to put it in a takeaway box go specify that you want your lamb scraps. The pumpkin dumplings and pan fried veggie filled dumplings were great as well. I thought my salmon wrap and the chickpea side was ok. Interesting flavors for sure. As for the service, there was always someone filling up our waters and our waiter was very nice checking in every now and then. The only downside of the experience is at the end when the waiter was boxing up all the food for us. Very sweet that they do this but when boxing up my partners food, they only boxed up the rice and they got rid of the lamb that he was looking forward to eating more of later. So that was kind of a disappointment for us. I think if we go again, we would request to box our food ourselves since I'm not sure why they decided to get rid of all of his lamb.

It was a fantastic introduction to some new flavors and the staff was really kind in explaining the dishes and offering recommendations as well. We've had the grilled items before--but really wanted to dive into the stews. Smaller portions but definitely enough to try, especially if you get a few things. We got the kashk bademjan eggplant dish (great with bread and so flavorful), tahdig with khoresh gheymeh, khoresh Fesenjoon (the table favorite for being sweet, sour, tart and a new flavors for us), and ghormeh sabzi. We hung out for a long time to chat and didn't feel rushed to leave, a great spot to take it easy and enjoy a nice meal and chat.

We started with hummus, which had excellent flavor,…read morebut the bread it is served with is a hard, stale sesame seed bread that is just not good. A fresh pita would go a long way. For entrees, we shared the ghormeh sabzi and joojeh. Both were good, I especially enjoyed the heavily peppered veggies and pomegranates on the rice. The entrees were solid. However, the ambiance is lacking, and that is one area they could easily improve with dimmer lighting at dinner. The space is washed out with overly bright lighting that makes it feel more like a fast food joint. The cocktails are also lacking. They have interesting drinks, but they are not well mixed, with way too much juice and way too much ice. I would be interested in trying the lunch menu, as the options are different. We came for dinner on a Friday, and while we may have enjoyed the food as a lunch takeout option, it did not hit as a Friday dinner spot.

(1 of 5) Disappointing experience at Alborz Restaurant,…read moreVirginia On February 8th, around 8 PM, our koobideh kebab sandwich arrived completely cold. After a long wait for a replacement, the second sandwich was even colder. The manager explained that it's usually cold due to the vegetables, but neither the bread nor the meat was warm. After another long delay, the replacement finally arrived, but the experience of cold food and repeated delays was completely disappointing. For me, this experience wasn't worth returning for or recommending. Here in Virginia, the customer's time is the cheapest thing to lose.

Walked in and decided to order for take out. The restaurant was clean and staff were very welcoming even though it was 30 mins until closing. The host took our orders and even offered us complementary tea which was delicious. Reminded me of Habesha tea. My sisters both ordered the chicken kabobs and they loved their dishes. They also ordered an appetizer of some kind of yogurt dip and that was the dish my sisters raved about as she recommended this spot. For me, I ordered the fish kabobs that came with dill rice and flava beans. Which consisted of a bunch of rice and 3 pieces of salmon. Was very dry in my opinion and really could use some kind of sauce/dressing to jazz it up. If I ever ventured back here I'd probably sub the rice for salad. The baklava was pretty good too! For that and the tea, I would definitely venture back. Happy Yelping!
