I couldn't finish any of the food. My husband enjoyed his meal too. Update: Back at it again! We visited the downtown location previously and loved it so much that we had to make our way to this location too--and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Pistachio Pancakes again, and they were just as amazing as I remembered. My husband went with the Famous Scramble, which was equally delicious. Our server, Celeste, was friendly, attentive, and helped make our experience even better. The food, service, and overall atmosphere were excellent. The only downside? We don't have a location in Phoenix! We'd be regulars if we did.

We sat down, opened the menu, and saw an item labeled "Israeli Breakfast." We immediately got up…read moreand left. What bothered us wasn't simply seeing the word "Israeli." It was seeing foods with deep roots across Palestinian, Levantine, and broader Arab culinary traditions presented under a national label that, to us, erases where much of that food and culinary heritage comes from. Menus aren't culturally neutral. How restaurants name and attribute food matters, especially when the people whose culinary traditions are being drawn from are experiencing profound suffering and displacement. The restaurant is free to make that choice, but as customers, we're equally free to decide that we won't financially support it. We took our business elsewhere.

I ordered a cafe con leche, a Cuban sandwich and a Media Noche sandwich. Everything was delicious. Especially the media noche sandwich. I've had plenty of media noches in my life, but never as good as this one. Not sure what kind of bread they use for their media noche, but it was so soft, just the perfect amount of sweetness. The Cuban sandwich of course was good, but tasted similar to others I've had. I can definitely see myself returning next time we're in the area.

I've never had anything quite like it, except maybe in Caribbean Costa Rica, and there is something so special about the way they make it here. It is literally my first stop every time I visit Miami Beach. I genuinely crave it! And then there's the quatro leches cake. INSANELY good. You will absolutely finish it. I recently tried their iced Cuban coffee with sugar and milk, and it was such a delicious addition. The passion fruit juice is also fantastic. I finally tried the grilled lobster plate, and WOW, it did not disappoint. Honestly, you might need to walk around the block a few times afterward because everything is just THAT good, and you're going to finish every last bite. Puerto Sagua has been serving Miami Beach since 1968, and it is still standing strong, serving incredible Cuban food with so much character and history. Great service and love the open restaurant ambiance diner feel. If you're visiting Miami Beach, DO NOT skip this place. Come hungry and get a taste of this iconic Cuban American restaurant. And whatever you do, GET THE OXTAIL STEW!
