I made a reservation for May 10, paying in advance. On the 9th, I was informed that the location for this tea was changed from Lake Oswego to Hillsboro. I was informed that I could cancel the reservation, with refund, if the change of location was inconvenient. It was, as I was treating my mother (who is 90!) and Hillsboro was too distant and too long of a day for her. I have been reaching out for the past 3 months, attempting to receive a refund, with no result. I contacted the Better Business Bureau for assistance, and they too received no response to their inquiries on my behalf. I feel it is important to share my experience, in case there are others who can benefit from it. read more

This is an experience I would recommend! My wife and I had never been to any kind of fancy tea place but we saw that Portland had a couple of them and some would do the High Tea experience, which includes trying various tea and having a light lunch. My wife had just had her birthday and wanted to see the High Tea experience firsthand. And even better, they had tasting rooms in Beaverton and Hillsboro so we could stay local. We chose the Hillsboro location in the nice block of downtown they have. You have to make a reservation so we did. It wasn't a huge room but all tables were full on an early Saturday afternoon. They sat you at a table with mugs and fine china for a little tea party. The menu was laid out ahead of time and then you could pick the teas to have. I enjoyed them- I am not an expert but I tried a couple and liked the variety. They gave us instructions on when to drink and even a timer for when we should pour. Then the food came out- first a small bowl of broccoli cheddar soup, which was good, then the pastry and sandwich tray. I did get a picture of that. The High Tea experience is listed as "a light meal of scones, pastries, assorted treats, and finger sandwiches." That is what we got. The scones were good and about what you would expect from a nice local bakery. There were some small hors d'oeuvres like a mini quiche with bacon and cheese and then a small pastry with tomato and olive, very tasty. The finger sandwiches for that day were cucumber and cream (a British staple I am told), red pepper and hummus, and then turkey lunchmeat with goat cheese and a cranberry spread- that was my favorite. They also gave a couple treats for the last part, a macaroon and a cupcake, and then a shot glass filled with whipped cream and a strawberry jello/jam type thing. All very good, and not too much to be overwhelming. Overall, it was a delightful experience. We were happy to give it a try. The only drawback I have is that it cost about $65 per person, which I felt a little steep considering what we got. Again all the food was very good and it is meant to be a light lunch, but the portions were all so small that I don't quite feel like it added up... I could just go to a local bakery and get a variety of things with more substance, for less money. We did get to try several teas so that is part of the experience. read more

Terrible experience! I would prefer to give it no stars. I scheduled a tea for myself and my mother in advance, one omnivore and one vegan. Upon arriving, I confirmed this with a member of staff. We then waited at least 30 minutes before being asked what tea we would like and the server discouraged us from ordering too many as to not make it difficult for her. We then did not receive refills to tea, or additional items until we had been there for over an hour. We received fruit, then later soup. I received the Indian curry soup. The base was good, but the chickpeas on top were so hard I couldn't even bite into them. After our tea had gone cold, we finally had another member of staff come to assist. We asked when our food would arrive, he said shortly. He refilled our teas and poured "fresh" cold water on the side for drinking, mine was white and clearly dirty, so he refilled. After repeated asks of when our food would be done given we (and the only other party there who arrived before us and also repeatedly expressed concern) had been there for over two hours, it finally came out. Neither were vegan, it took an additional 30 minutes for the vegan meal (which a member of staff had to ask what vegan entailed). It was not much food and I'm not sure if it is the full vegan offering. One of each of our meals was a sandwich square that was pb&j and olives/roast beef - inedible. A member of staff told us this experience was not typical, as the entire experience should only take two hours for completion, not items coming out after two hours. I asked for a refund and was denied. I was offered a partial gift card and repeatedly given excuses after ongoing back and forth. I was more than happy to settle this matter privately but this was unacceptable. I have been to number of establishments for tea and never had this poor of a service. Would have loved to patronize this establishment and would have considered returning, however, the poor service and response to my valid complaints is disgusting. They didn't have the little papers to put the chocolates in, and the employee helping us was extremely under trained. The high tea experience is incredible! Everything we had was delicious and fresh. Our favorites included the pickle cream cheese sandwich, the berry scones with mascarpone and jam, the mini lemon tarts, and the tiny quiches. The tea was great too. It may seem pricey, but honestly, it's a steal for the quality and quantity of food that you get. We also loved the frilly, flowery vibe and the excellent service. Will definitely be back! read more

Very slow service. It was an hour and half before food arrived. If we had not pre-paid, we would definitely have left. Tea selection was extremely limited for afternoon tea. Food was mediocre at best; tasted like items you could pick up pre-packaged from grocery store. Our server was nice and trying to do her best as the only person manning the entire place. I am an avid fan of afternoon tea in any city on any day of the week. The food was delicious. The variety exceptional. And the flavors unexpected, but in the best way. Do not waste your money here! Anne the owner is greedy and a bully. She charges $50 per person for high tea then begs the guests to wait so she can go to the grocery store. I just attended Coffee Connection through the Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce hosted at Mamancy. Jane, the owner of Mamancy, was very friendly and welcoming and the space is really nice and laid back. There are a large assortment of teas, chocolates and pastries. I tried the double caramel chocolates and oh my lord they were heavenly. Highly recommend visiting Mamancy and getting tea here. I have heard the high tea is really good as well and something I am looking forward to trying. read more

We had a great experience with gracious hosts at Mamancy! The teas were delightful and the food offerings was varied and plentiful. It was pricey but worth it. Adults and teens may enjoy the food and tea flavors more than little ones. My 5yr old niece loved the experience but did not love the food. I'm so glad I chose you for our fancy tea party. I got the iced lavender fog and was delighted with the taste. The workers there greeted me nicely when I came through. I really like the environment and ambiance of this tea shop and will definitely come back again. They allowed me to smell some of their loose leaf teas they had and I was very awed by how unique the names were. I definitely want to try their chocolates next time! Disappointed that they cannot offer bubble tea also. They do have powders ready packaged in their shop but because of possible "competition" amongst another bubble tea shop in the plaza they're not allowed to make it, would be nice though read more

Wow! What a lovely shop! It was just pure delight to find this beautiful tea and chocolate shop just a few short weeks ago. The owner Anne is so sweet and so helpful! Her chocolates are so delicious! This place is awesome. I went to the one off of canyon in beaverton town center (which is new). They have a lot of interesting teas and she lets you smell them and she explains all about them.
