My 4 year old and I ventured to the Westover farmers market Sunday morning to try Mama's Donut bites and it was definitely worth the trip!! The only flavor they had was the apple cider minis but they had all the dipping sauces/flavors to mix things up! Rod was super friendly (he seemed to remember all his regulars) and the amazing donuts were the icing on the cake! They were fresh, warm, and melted in your mouth. The pricing was great ($5 for 12 mini donuts, $3 for 6) so we opted for 12. I put sprinkles on some for the little guy and got the raspberry and white chocolate dipping sauces for mine. Everything was so delicious. Would love to try the red velvet flavor sometime as that's my favorite cake flavor. We wanted to consider creative ideas for dessert for our daughter's Sept 5, 2020 wedding at Riverside on the Potomac in Leesburg. Our caterer provided a photo-op cake, but we knew we needed something additional to serve our guests. When perusing the list of recommended vendors for the venue, we came across Mama's Donut Bites and knowing that our daughter & her fiancé loved donuts, we decided to book them approx. 1 year in advance of the wedding date. Covid hit in March and as we worked on the details of the wedding to make it as covid safe as possible, the idea of dessert outside became a great idea. We were thrilled we booked Mama's Donut Bites & we added on an ice cream truck to have something for everyone. Holy smokes, her donuts are delicious and you can add toppings like raspberry jam, chocolate syrup, etc. As for servings, you only get 6 bite size donuts smothered with sugar and spice or powder sugar. My collegues and I got the famous apple cider. Yummmmy! The prices seems to vary but from what I was told 6 for $3 to $5...depends on the flavor of the day. This was a nice surprise when I was in Virginia and I decided to try out this food truck. To my shock, all that was available were their regular apple cider donuts. Alongside that, on their window, you had a variety of drizzles you could squeeze inside the bag of donuts you got, so I decided to try the white chocolate. My mom and sister had tried Rod & Kristy's donuts at a farmers market and called me up immediately after to tell me that we HAD to call them and see if they would come to my wedding and provide late-night donuts for our guests. Sure enough, they were available and knew exactly what to do! Their donuts did not disappoint. They brought their trailer and served their mini donuts with all the toppings set out for everyone to try. It was a great treat and everyone kept telling me how amazing the donuts were. Not seeing carryout containers for the sauces and sprinkles left on the counter I squirted tubes of chocolate and caramel sauce right into the paper bag to coat the mini doughnuts. The sauces available include (1) chocolate, (2) berry jam (3) caramel and (4) white chocolate. I couldn't really wait until my office to start noshing. Once I started of course, there was no stopping. These donuts melt in the mouth, are slightly warm, don't feel greasy, and are quite a show stopper! The donuts are good, I believe they only come in one flavor per day but they do have a variety of sauces that you are allowed to pure over the donuts.
