I've been coming to O'Bread for over 4 years now. It was so much better before they opened up the Centerville location. I'm glad it finally reopened the Annandale location, following a long renovation closure, but I am a bit dismayed by the quality of its offerings. We used to order their yogurt cakes for all celebratory occasions, but now notice a drop in quality. Still, we go here because it is a 2 minute walk, and it satisfies cravings for lattes and baked goods.

    Pumpkin pound cake

When we tried the pumpkin pound cake we noticed the bitter taste and foul smell of something had gone bad we spitted it out immediately and trashed the bread. I wish they'd put a date on the products to indicate when it was made and the expired date to check for. Went back in to ask for a refund and they only allow us to exchange.

I can only speak for their cakes - highly recommend the Blueberry Yogurt Cake. It was amazing and very unique. I loved the flavors and it was a favorite with everyone I shared it with!

My favorite local bakery with beautiful Korean inspired breads that are made with love Their cakes are quite delicious- not too sweet and lighter than traditional cakes. Particularly their yogurt blueberry cake is quite delicious with a bit of tartness from the yogurt to balance out the sweet nicely~

The cakes and bread at this bakery are phenomenal - especially their yogurt cream fruit cakes! What the other reviewer said is true; the cream here is delicious and the cakes are addictive. I may or may not have eaten half a cake all by myself. I'm not sure if it's the fresh + organic ingredients they use, but other bakeries just do not compare, both in freshness and taste! I've ordered them for several birthday celebrations, and each time EVERYONE asked where I'd gotten them. I just wish I lived closer! They also have a decent loyalty program (not one of those where it takes forever to get something) so make sure to get your cards stamped when you make a purchase (I think it was for every $20).

They have everything from small bites like cookies and pastries to full size cakes & tarts. They also have single serve slices of some of their cakes like the chocolate mousse cake. We went for breakfast sandwiches and tried both of the base bread options. The snowflake bread was soft and pillowy (my favorite) and the brotchen bread was slightly crisper & a little bit saltier, also amazing. Eggs are fluffy and a great portion size. Added cheese to each and smoked bacon. A delightful breakfast treat. On the way out, I got a baguette for a last minute appetizer need. It was so soft and freshly baked (and big!). I'm going back today for more fresh bread. There's also plenty to shop for like mustards, jams, cheese and charcuterie, grab and go items, and beverages. This place has summer chalet vibes & is very upbeat and friendly. Lines can get long during typical busy hours, so it's not super quick if you're in a rush. Great place to come relax.

They're best known for their bingsoo, or Korean shaved ice, which is perfectly fluffy and delightful, with a sweet, milky flavor that acts as a great canvas for all their toppings. You can't go wrong with of their bingsoo options, but they do run a little bit large and are meant for 2-3 people to share. If you're in the mood for something smaller, they do have a delightful selection of other desserts, chief among which is their rice paper waffle. This glorious confection is a super light, crispy waffle made entirely out of rice paper (which, as a side bonus, also means it's gluten-free). It's slightly chewy on the inside but generally incredibly crunchy and airy. It comes topped with a lovely rice-based syrup that tastes a bit savory -- almost malty -- and black sesame. You can also just get a scoop of their rich, creamy ice cream (instead of the shaved ice that it normally comes on top of), and it will be topped with a generous helping of red bean paste, injeolmi powder, sliced almonds, and corn flakes. The combination of flavors and textures levels up this humble little scoop to a full-scale dessert with sweet, savory, and nutty notes. Aside from their sweet treats, Soricha also has a bunch of fun drinks. They have a long menu of expertly brewed artisan teas, or you can also cool down with one of their refreshing fruit mixes. The omija berry refresher is particularly lovely, with a great balance of tart and sweet flavors that make it the perfect summertime drink. Beyond the food, the service is also super friendly and quick, and the cafe is gorgeously decorated with chill, relaxing ambient music. It's a delightful place to hang out with a friend to chat, finish some work, or do a bit of reading. I will note, however, that it is quite expensive -- the bingsoo is about $20, and the teas are a minimum of $7. It's so worth it every time, but it's definitely more of an occasional treat than an everyday indulgence.

Found this place on one of the food delivery services and was pleased to see it was a short hop away (less than a mile south of Mosaic District). That said, a small menu often times means each and every dish is excellent (jack of all trades, master of none)? I picked up the Cucumber Tuna Cup-bob, Cucumber Tuna Rolls, and Cucumber Kimchi. All were top notch - fresh, light (healthy feeling), with good flavor. Everything tasted original and the freshly prepared. The Cucumber Kimchi had a decent kick to it (spice), so beware if you're used to less spicy kimchi. The bonus and probably what sets them apart is their focus on quality ingredients (halal meat with korean food? unheard of!). I'd love to see them add an option for 100% grass fed beef as well. We tried three items: the red velvet cake, the mocha cake, and an apple pastry (not sure of the exact name, but it reminded me of an apple turnover/empanada). Let's start with the red velvet cake, so good. Moist, flavorful, and honestly better than I expected. Red velvet is one of those cakes that's easy to mess up, but they executed it perfectly. What impressed me even more is that we bought it right before closing, didn't eat it immediately, and it still tasted amazing hours later even after being refrigerated. The mocha cake was well-made, soft, spongy, and clearly high quality, but it just wasn't for me. It has a strong coffee flavor, so if you're a coffee person, you'll probably love it. For me, it was about a 6/10. Now the real star: the apple pastry. This was everything. Perfectly flaky, lightly crisp on the outside, and filled with fresh, flavorful apples. It melted in your mouth! could've easily eaten multiples of these!! Service was also a highlight. Even though we came in right before closing, the staff was kind, patient, and efficient. Nothing felt rushed, which I really appreciated. The shop itself is cute and quaint. Perfect for a quick stop or a casual treat. Overall, Paris Baguette delivered. Some items may come down to personal preference, but the quality is there. I'd absolutely go back, especially for that red velvet cake and the apple pastry .
