First time here. Been looking for a nice Greek diner in the area. Found some reviews that seemed positive. Definitely like the place. Food was great. Exactly right. I always ask for my eggs benedict. It served to me deconstructed and they got it exactly right. It was delicious. Service was good, I got there early so don't know what it's like when it's busy. But it's a winner. I'll be back

Omg! This burger is so delicious I can't even explain the freshness of this! Hands down one of the best burgers I've had in a while! The lettuce, tomatoes , pickles and onion just explodes with goodness! I have now made this my go to for what I call an old fashioned cheeseburger made with love. The service is always top notch each time I've came here. The he food from breakfast to lunch has been nothing but home cooked outstanding! As soon as you walk in you are greeted as if you are a part of the family and just welcomed! It's very cozy inside and there may be a wait, however it isn't long. Love this place!

I ran into a few links commenting about a cute little breakfast spot that had incredibly reasonable prices. Things have changed a bit... Prices are OK -- they're not crazy exceptional like they used to be. When entering you are greeted to a cute little restaurant with probably the friendliest staff I've ever met in my entire life. It felt like walking into a small town and being greeted by friends and family. It was the kind of friendly that feels natural -- not a sales pitch. Definitely recommend the atmosphere. Sadly, I just don't think the food was that good. I ordered a special that included pancakes, eggs, ham. You can't really mess up eggs... They were fine. The ham was a pretty large chunk of ham and was pretty tasty. The problem... The pancakes were just "meh". They were cooked perfectly, but the batter was just two "floury" (not sure if that is a word). And I think that's going to become the theme for all of their baked goods. My wife got the biscuits and gravy. I was pretty excited about trying the biscuit because they sell individually for four dollars. Four dollars for a biscuit! I was expecting something exceptional. It wasn't. To be fair... The biscuit was actually pretty bad. It just tasted like a pile of flour. It had no real flavor. With the biscuit and gravy combo they poured way too much gravy on top of it, and it just looked like a pile of soup. Not very appetizing at all. I saw another gentleman who ordered the same and his plate had half the gravy. At least it looked better on the plate. The bad news about the gravy... It wasn't that good either. Super floury and it didn't really have very much sausage in there. Flour biscuit with flour soup on top of it... Not great. So, not sure if it was just a bad day in the kitchen where they spilled too much flour into all the mix... But, the food definitely gets a negative review. Cute little restaurant and super positive attitude of the staff gets a positive review. Thus, a mixed review... 3 out of 5.

We got here after a red eye flight to Tampa. The restaurant had good reviews so we stopped for breakfast. I had the sausage breakfast burrito. It was good and fresh. The size was generous and the service was great. It is worth stopping here if you are in Tampa, FL.

If I could give more stars I would!!! Food was fast and delicious and service was fast and friendly! It's a small little mom and pop restaurant that was very busy. The gentleman at the door was very friendly and kept everything moving. We were seated quickly and got our food in less than 10 minutes. DO NOT RUN IF YOU SEE PEOPLE WAITING, I promise it's worth it and you won't wait as long as you think!

This was our second visit to Mama's and it was delish! Food is very fresh, friendly staff, quick service... What more could you want? I've driven past this place a million times and finally my fiance and I decided to have breakfast there. The food was so good! Home style diner food and just the best comfort food close to home for us. We walk there and are always greeted with a smile. The food comes out so quickly. I always get an omelette and home fries. Lots of food too! There's always leftovers. I highly recommend giving this little place a try! read more

Been here for lunch a couple of times with some co-workers, so one night we were in South Tampa and I had a craving for some different so suggested some omelettes for dinner. When I walked in with my black wife and mixed son, it was like a scene out of a 1960s movie. Everyone in the restaurant stopped talking, eating, and turned to us with the most confused, unwelcoming expression I've ever seen. Food wasn't bad, and neither was the service, but unless you are white and blue-collar, I don't recommend going there for dinner. read more

Went here with some friends after a day filled with drinking. The corned beef hash is perfect, not too salty and just the right amount of hangover cure. If you have a sweet tooth in the morning they have great french toast. If they had fresh squeezed OJ they would be at 5 stars. Overall the experience was great good service, not a long wait, and delicious food. I would definitely recommend this spot to a friend for a good wholesome breakfast. read more

As greasy spoons go, this one was great. Service was friendly and fast, the meal was of considerable portion size and excellent quality. The best part? Like any good greasy spoon, the meal was very reasonable. If you want something quick while passing through, this is a great option. read more

ohhh yes. Small town diner in the "big" city. Great hometown feel with friendly servers, limited seating and butter-saturated toast! Eating here makes me nostalgic for the small diners and mom and pop restaurants I frequented with my family growing up. Breakfast. To me it's the only option here. You could something else a shot, but what's better than a loaded omelet in the middle of the day? Nothing. Like I mentioned before, the seating is limited here, but customers typically cycle in/out of the restaurant pretty quickly. Food also comes from the kitchen quickly, too. Highly recommend and I'll be back next time I am in TPA. read more

I was so eager to try this place. I ordered the cube steak and green beans and mashed potatoes. Everything was good except for the mashed potatoes. Very disappointed. Thought they would be home made but they are instant mash. Thumbs down for that. read more

Great option for breakfast near MacDill AFB. While cramped for space, it adds to the "mom and pop" feel of the place. They also turn the tables quickly so you don't wait long even when it's packed. read more

Great local place. Doesn't look like much from the road but the servers are friendly and attentive and the food portions are generous. Only things I found lacking were the hash browns were cold and the orange juice was canned concentrate (personal preference here so not necessarily a negative). We both got the mama'a special and had more than enough food (French toast was especially good). If you want upscale healthy, this is not your place. But if you want a place where the servers know you by name and a good home cooked breakfast, come on by. This will be part of our Sunday routine from now on. read more

I have been going to Mamas for years, since they first opened actually, it is a small, homey, friendly place. They do have the best breakfast in South Tampa for sure. Yesterday I went for lunch and tried one of the specials of the day, which was the Pork Souvlaki, it was delicious! Grilled chunks of pork, onions, mushrooms, peppers and tomatoes, really tasty! It was served over a bed of rice and came with a small greek salad on the side. My friend had the same thing and she also loved it. The portions are generous here and the prices are great. I highly recommend Mamas if you're looking for a nice friendly little diner. read more

The prices were great and it was a cute little diner - but I wasn't crazy about the food! I ordered an egg sandwich. The toasted bread was soggy, and the cheese was packaged square American cheese. We love this place. We went for Mothers Day for our first visit, and it was packed! The owner/host got us a table quickly. This is a Greek family owned business, and the food is delicious. Wow what a great breakfast joint! The food is amazing . And it's nice little place to go for a pop ma shop. Great sasage and gravy and pancakes eggs and hashbrowns. We just went there for breakfast but the lunch and dinner also looked great. Try this place out home cooking from mama so good. Had supper about 5:00pm, 7/10/17, and was disappointed with what I had ordered. Waitress was nice and was clean inside. I ordered a fried chicken dinner that came with mash potatoes, salad and peas. I ordered garlic toast and not charged. Meal was $9.00 and not very tasty. The chicken was breaded frozen and the peas tasted like frozen peas also. Mashed potatoes were instant. I'd value the dinner worth about $5.95 for what was received. Thousand island dressing was sour and way too much mayo. Still looking for that fresh cooked food instead of the quick and easy frozen. Don't think I'll return again. read more

Patty's are also frozen from a box and a traditional smash burger is paper thin- not 1/2 thick. And it was not fresh- definitely a frozen patty. Fries were not crispy. $50.00 bill for boxed freezer burn food. Save your money - go somewhere else!

Our very friendly and knowledgeable server let us order off of the happy hour menu, so my friends and I split a variety of items. First - bread with the 3 dips - you absolutely must get this. Second - fried zucchini balls. While I did like them, I wish they were smaller so the inside was a little more cooked. Third - Creamy Tomato Vodka Pasta - yummy with a bit of kick! This was my favorite food item. Fourth - Queen Stella Margherita pizza. Surprisingly, this was my least favorite item. We got it thin-crust, and while it looked good, it was served completely cold, and the flavor can only be described as cardboard-like. I would definitely try another pizza here, but not this one. My friends also split an order of meatballs, which they loved. While they had wine for dessert, I had a piece of limoncello cake for dessert. It was fantastically lemony and moist, which I loved. Their parking lot is valet only, but fortunately you only have to pay the $6 fee Fri-Sun, so we just had to tip the very friendly valet.

The meal was great and how quickly it came out shocked me. I wanted to eat somewhere for lunch and relax a bit. Today I had an entire hour for lunch. I took 11 minutes putting gas in my take a drive a bit until I saw mama's kitchen. I went in, was greeted very nicely, and served very quickly. I asked for my food and it was out in under 5 minutes. I ate slowly and enjoyed myself. I ended up leaving 30 minutes into my break. Now I am here writing this review while I wait until I have to be back at work. :) read more
