Unfortunately Mamas Table hit below an average mark for us. To begin the service was amazing! Great servers and a very warm welcome and goodbye. Plenty of parking in the lot and quite easy to find. The food, however, is where things went sour. I ordered a regular cup of coffee. It was bad. I asked for a second cup thinking it would be brewed fresh but it was colder and more bland and sour than the first. I didn't have coffee for breakfast, so that's, NO FUN for an adult. The breakfast we ordered was the omelette for the husband and an eggs benedict for myself. My husband's omelette was good, my Benedict was overly sauced, and slushy. It tasted like nothing. I hardly ate one muffin and egg and left the rest. At about 60+ for two people with a side of pancake, this breakfast was really not worth it. Sorry Yelpers but this one's a pass for me. We brought my mom here for Mother's Day just like everyone else in the restaurant. I mean it's Mama's Table! Where else would you take mother? We came around 9 AM and were seated right away. The restaurant was able to accommodate several large parties with some decorating their own table. The servers were attentive and courteous. They made us feel welcome and it seemed like they truly enjoyed working there, even on Mother's Day. There are plenty of your typical breakfast selections as you would expect in a diner, maybe a few signature dishes (I don't recall though). After a disastrous weekend in the greater LA area with a funeral, bad hotels and then a worse hotel, we were happy to be heading north on Interstate 5 an headed back to Washington. After we cleared the Burbank area we decided to stop for a sit-down breakfast. Out came the cell phone and the Yelp App! With The Wife deftly weaving her way through Los Angeles traffic I got to work finding the perfect place. I bypassed the chains; we wanted something off the interstate. I spied Mama's Table. It was only about three miles off the interstate. I hit "directions" within the Yelp App, and it guided us to a cute little strip mall, and there it was. We walked in and were told to pick our own seat. The Indy 500 was delayed but they were still on the air waiting so we picked a table by the television that had it on. Menus were delivered in seconds, and we started hunting for our breakfast. The wait staff were so nice, and very attentive. We ordered after The Wife's coffee arrived; she loved the coffee. She ordered a two-egg breakfast with home fries, sourdough toast and bacon. I went with the meat-lovers omelet, hash browns, a biscuit and a side of gravy. The food arrived quickly, and I was happy to see they toasted the biscuit, not many places do that. The gravy was savory with lots of herbs and I spread it over the biscuits and the hash browns. It was gone way too soon. The Wife had high compliments for the home fries and the preparation of the eggs and bacon. It was so nice to get out of the car and sit-down and take a breather before facing Memorial Day weekend traffic. Come on in and enjoy Mama's Table. We did! Rightly named, feels like we're served like family by Mama! We came in with our grandkids, 2 and 6 year olds. A Party of 7, we all enjoyed our time together and the food couldn't be better. They gave us everything we needed and asked for and all with a smile. Admittedly, we're a bit raucous, but it feels like our server just loved having us there and enjoyed seeing us having a good time together. How sweet! Hubby's chicken fried steak was tender with real homemade gravy. I think the owner is trying to cut expenses by cutting his staff to the point where often he is the only server which Is fine except he seems to be obsessed by sitting at the counter and hand drying utensils while allowing guests to just sit. You've gotta love a one-off local breakfast restaurant with a fun name, the friendliest staff, and a nice alternative to the chain breakfast spots and diners that dot the land. If only the food had been better to round out the experience. My son and I had breakfast here while my car was being worked on nearby. It's a seat yourself first-come-first-serve kind of place which, I guess makes it easier for them, but does create a little bit of a Mad Max / Everyone for themselves kind of atmosphere when it's full and many people are hovering over the dining areas waiting to swoop in on an almost available table. The coffee was not good. Weak and definitely in the "browned water" category. Coffee is the foundation of a breakfast restaurant, and if you're serving weak joe at a place like this, it's time to re-evaluate what you're doing altogether. Navigating the menu is easy enough...it's nicely designed...but there are so many upcharges for everything. You kind of get the sense if you want a different work, there will be an extra fee for that. I had a Vegetable and Cheese Omelet made with egg whites (upcharge.) Despite all the ingredients included, there wasn't a whole lot of flavor to this and the egg whites were overcooked. I had a biscuit for my bread option. They drench these in oil or butter and fry them on the grill before bringing them to you, completely eliminating the flakey biscuit-ness of the biscuit which came overwhelmed with the flavor of the grill. This was easily the worst biscuit I've had and after a couple of bites I couldn't finish it. The home fries I had it with were good. Easily the star of the meal (but the bar was low.) My son had French Fries and a Cinnamon Roll. He liked the fries, so if you're coming here potato-forward, you're probably in good shape. The cinnamon role, however, was very dry and he couldn't finish it either. (How rare is it for a kid to not be able to finish a dessert like this?) We also had a side of fruit which included watermelon, cantaloupe, oranges, two kinds of grapes, and strawberries. This was a nice variety of fruit and a fairly generous portion compared to what we've seen other places The oranges, grapes and cantaloupe were good. The watermelon was just slightly past its prime, and the strawberries were a bit sour. The best part of the experience was our server who was very attentive and super-sweet. I wish the food had lived up to the vibe she brought to the table. There are plenty of other breakfast places to go to in the Santa Clarita Valley...it'll be a while before we give this one another shot. read more

Well, David did it again. We ordered his Thanksgiving brunch meal & it was DELICIOUS. The turkey was full of flavor & juicy, the mashed potatoes & gravy were excellent along with the stuffing, green bean casserole & yams. The grilled biscuit with homemade jam was so yummy. Everything was beyond our expectations. To top it off, we ordered his homemade pumpkin pie. It's alot of food so we'll get at least one more meal out of it, possibly two.
