Arriving around 11:30, midway through their business hours, I found Waffle Love rather empty with two young ladies behind the counter. Very friendly. I came with chicken and waffles in mind. What, no hot chocolate? Nor any other hot beverages available for that matter. But I was offered a suggestion of chocolate milk. Nestle's of course. Taking my seat, my first impression of this place was; well, think elementary school classroom decor. My food arrived some ten minutes later. Everything looked delicious. Chicken, golden brown and well seasoned. Made to order and very tasty! Unfortunately, I can't speak highly of the waffle here at Waffle Love. Chewy, doughy and not quite ready for prime time. After picking up my parents from LAX, we needed to make a food stop cause my parents were hungry. My lovely wifey found Waffle Love on Yelp. It was not too much of a detour from the freeway. We located good parking at the plaza the restaurant is. Place is not too large. They were filled to capacity when we arrived. Fortunately, a family of four was just finishing so we were able to snag their table. Order at the counter, and wait for them to bring your order to the table. Service was alright. They weren't too friendly, but they got the job done. How was the food? We got mixed results from the family. Mom said her Churro Waffle was okay. Dad said his Banana Cream Pie Waffle was alright. My wife and I shared our orders. Her Strawberries & Cream Waffle was alright too. The Chicken & Waffle order was delicious. I especially enjoyed the Chicken which was tender and flavorful. A road trip down to LA that starts at 4am means you gotta eat along the way. This place was easy because we all love waffles and the name had the word "love" in it. Lucky us, we ended up loving the place and wish we had one in the Bay Area. The interior decor was really simple with tables and a few paintings on the walls-- nothing fancy. If you want ambiance, this isn't the place for you. But if you want an interesting take on waffles, you must try this place. I ordered a "Breakfast Sammy" with sausage and after I took my first bite, my first thought was "Well this is different!" -- in a good way. The texture of the waffle itself was nothing like a traditional waffle. It tasted like a croissant that was pressed together (think panini press) so that it managed to be light and flakey with a good chewiness to it. I opted for over- easy eggs because I love me some runny yolks. Mixed in with the slightly sweet mayo sauce and sausage, this sandwich was so good. I was totally satisfied and the thought of trying a sweet waffle was not even an option because this was so filling. Waters are in a pitcher in a corner so that you can serve yourself. After a long drive, I wanted some comfort food so I stopped here. It seemed like a great idea. I placed my order for Chicken and a Waffle, and the server was great. Waited about 10 minutes, and the young lady who brought my food out was also friendly, with a great smile. I opened my to-go order, and there's hair stuck to the Waffle. Food businesses should have a mandatory rule for all employees in the kitchen area to wear hair nets. With the prices going up, I just want my order to be delicious free from any dirt or hair. Waffle love has been booked marked for sometime and I'm so glad we tried it out today. Read a lot of reviews explaining the pick up tome ranges from 35mih-1hr. So be sure to call ahead and order? They get very busy, went in and there was a nice little rush. My phone order i had made was still a little behind (not an issue I was suspecting of this). The menu isn't very crazy, more simple side. Ordered a number of items and everything came out really well. If you're here for customer service, you need to understand these are more of the younger crowd whom have probably never worked before and this pandemic has a lot of businesses suffering. Waffle Love should try have at least 4-5 workers. 2-3 today really was cutting it. But like I've mentioned not anyone's fault, so difficult to get anyone to work during these times. I just hope the owner will really pay more close attention and try to help out their store. Because this place has so much potential. I only recently found out Waffle Love has been in Valencia for almost a year but I've been aware of the Northridge location. I always found it odd that they close on Sundays given Sundays would be the ideal day for "Waffles" why not close mondays? Anyways not the issue here, I had a coupon for a free item but wanted to try something else too, I swung by about 11:15 Friday and nobody else was ahead of me in line but two tables were waiting outside. I ordered the grilled cheese and tomato bisque (the free item) along with the banana cream pie waffle, that one coming to about $11. Service was friendly and not an issue at all. I was told a 15 minute wait. Not bad at all, so I went outside to wait. By 11:30, 3-4 more people came to order on site. By 11:45 there were maybe 5-6 waiting but at least 5 others had come for pick ups through third party delivery apps. It took almost one hour for me to get two waffles and I wasn't the only person waiting that long. My food came to me around 12:10. The party that ordered after me (also two waffles) had their food when I finished mine, at least an hour wait for them too. My biggest gripe about this experience is the hour wait after not only being told it would be a 15 minute wait which was grossly underestimated, but the fact that all these third-party apps had priority and the order+time management was abysmal. Speaking to two of the other waiting parties they were both on lunch break and thought about canceling their orders. Considering at least 3 employees were working, I just can't accept these wait times. Now onto the food. The grilled cheese and bisque came out piping hot, at least that was a good sign that it was fresh. The waffle was crispy and flakey like a croissant but extremely greasy. The cheese was good, but that's all there was. The menu states provolone and meunster are the cheese but I'm not sure if they added more salt because the sandwich was so overly salty and these cheeses don't exude that much salt. The menu also reads "garlic butter" but I tasted no garlic at all. Was it a decent grilled cheese? Sure. But nothing worth raving about or considering. The tomato bisque on the other hand far exceeded the grilled cheese which may be a good thing but not so much when you come for the waffles. The soup was tangy and sweet, with the right thickness to differentiate it from traditional tomato soup. As for the banana cream pie, $10 for this is ludicrous. The waffle is definitely good. A good size, gooey chocolate in the middle, and not too sweet. But that's about it. The bananas are fresh, while the whipped cream is just okay. For it to really be "banana cream pie" I would expect custard and some sort of graham cracker/vanilla wafer addition. Was my hunger satisfied after this meal? More than yes. Was everything good? Sure. Was it worth it? Not at all. I can put aside the wait time but there just isn't much to make me want to return. read more

We have been waiting for Waffle Love to open in Valencia and due to circumstances I couldn't get in here before today, but today was worth waiting for baby...! The restaurant was definitely following the current guidelines of safety and we placed our order to take home. My wife got a Banana Cream Pie, my son, Nutella Love and I got the Nash (pictures of all are on this review, but not one of them does the food justice). Seriously the food was EXCELLENT....!!! Being that I only got pointing at the food and sounds of "Mmmm" from the fam-bam I could tell they were enjoying their dishes. For mine, since it was past 10 AM, I was glad I ordered the Nash since it became my breakfast and lunch (and almost dinner). The Nash was served on Brioche bun that was so tender it lived up to the butter it was made with for sure. The chicken, how can one describe perfection? Well, the two, VERY LARGE flat pieces of breast meat were coated in a flavorful crust that not that spicy, but just a subtle amount of smoldering heat. Served with sliced pickles and slaw, honestly, I had to take one of the pieces out because it was too big to eat. But after finishing the one (and the remnants of the bun remaining) I had a second sandwich. I gave a part of the sandwich to my son for him to try. I thought by now he would know that I always order the best thing on the menu, but he said very loudly walking away that is what he is getting the next time. Solid waffle for the price it's not as large as I expected. The flavor meets what the pictures look like, they don't disappoint. The Sammy is solid but the waffle is excessively buttery or greasy. We finally had a chance to try WLV on this Thursday morning. When we entered the facility there was only one patron and we were greeted by a nice and pleasant young man at the front who also took our order. We both had the breakfast Sammy and wow it was a great breakfast. The waffle was so buttery and so very crispy which is the way I like my waffles. I had the bacon well done and the egg was over medium. They put this special sauce which added that extra notch of flavor. We got the food within 5 minutes which we were told it would take. The minute we started eating, 2 sets of families and one couple came in to eat as well. The place is clean and quaint. The service was top notch, and the food was delicious. Stopped here on our way to Disneyland from the Bay Area. The menu looked good and wasn't the usual fast food stop on a road trip. I had the waffle grilled cheese and tomato soup. The grilled cheese surprisingly didn't have too much flavor despite the waffle, lots of cheese and garlic butter it was made with. The tomato bisque had good flavor with a dash of spice however the consistency was a little odd, like I could feel all the tomato seeds in the soup. I always ask about nut allergens due to a nut allergy in our family. They do not have any nuts or nut products other than Nutella in their kitchen. So that was a positive for me.
