I discover this place from another business and seen the flyer. I came in today for a quick bite and was very impressed of the food quality. I order one carne asada taco. It was so good and worth every bite. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for the BEST TACO IN LA. And for me one taco was enough because they're big! Enjoy

I got the carne asada burrito with beans and cheese and the chips with guacamole. Everything was really good. Service was very friendly. The guacamole is made fresh while you wait. I also appreciate the way they make their burrito. After they assemble the the burrito, they brown every side of the burrito on the flat top. Another thing that I liked was that the asada wasn't greasy. When I got home, the burrito was intact and the tortilla was dry.

Got the asada burrito and it was very bland. Literally took it all apart and ate it as a bowl and the asada had no type of flavoring at all. They attended to me pretty quickly since there was no one inside at the moment. I doubt I'll be back worth a shot but the burrito didn't hit the spot this time. I dumped the whole habanero salsa inside just to give it some flavor. Also for $17 for a standard burrito I was better off going to the street vendors.

Wanted to try a new place so decided to try mama's Tacos. There was only one person there and he was cooking our food. He was very nice. Asked us if we wanted cilantro or onion inside a burrito and tacos. The restaurant inside was very clean. Also he made the tortillas by hand for the tacos, definitely a plus.

3 tacos Al pastor asada and chicken really good chicken and Al pastor

Chicken tacos with nothing on them are the Best. Churros are good too. the place is homey and you can change the channel if you'd like.

I'm so happy I came across this spot. The tacos were absolutely delicious. I read someone saying their corn tortillas were out of this world, and they really are. I had one asada and one shrimp taco, and both were phenomenal. I also had their chips and Guac, which was freshly made. My only regret was not snapping a pic of their tacos. This place is a must of you're in the area, and if you're not from the area, make your way to this place. Mama's tacos has become my new favorite spot.

Ordered take out on 10/25/24. Tried a variety of tacos between me and my wife as it was our first time at Mamas Tacos and wanted to sample different flavors. The tacos purchased were carne asada, suadero (brisket) and nopal asada (cactus). Everything was fresh, corn torillas were hand made, salsas were also fresh and handmade. Best tacos this side of the border, we will defiantly be returning to Mamas Tacos. I myself ate two tacos and was content with the quantity. I could have ate 3 but it would have been siesta time afterwards. Only reason I have not given this establishment a 5 star rating is because I wait until I have tried an establishment at least 3 different time to see if the quality is consistent.

Asada taco with cilantro only & green salsa.

As a first time customer service is everything! & I was NOT disappointed the owner was very welcoming, & he took his time to explain questions we (husband & I) had about the menu. The restaurant is very clean & calm. Since we were rushing we only got to try the carne asada tacos. They were so freaking delicious! Its $5 each taco but they're so big & the flavor of the asada, the yellow homemade tortilla, & the green salsa was sooo worth it! The meat was so soft & juicy! It really hit the spot! Ive tried other taco places & even across the street & they don't come close to this new spot! Im returning very soon to try the rest of the menu! 20/10 ! I definitely recommend Mama's tacos!

I stopped by on a Friday afternoon and waited about 20 minutes for a table. The wait was well worth it because each dish offered an explosion of flavors. My favorite dish was the birria, with the salmon ceviche as a close second. The mole was great too, but I'd say the other two dishes were more memorable and something I'd return for. I can't recommend the birria enough, as the flavors were reminiscent of what I've had in Mexico, very authentic. The space is small and can feel a bit tight, but sometimes the best food comes from these types of "hole in the wall" places. Ultimately, I'd say give Lola's a try! You can't go wrong with Mexican food!

The soup here lacks the tastebud awakening zip that Don Chato's has. The ono fish taco experience was my fault... I hate fried fish taco, so I had lofty expectations, but due to the fact that I do not prefer corn tortillas, guacamole or raw onions, led to much disappointment since It has all three. Totally my fault. The butternut enchilada was lacking in the expected savoriness... this is being polite. The potato taquito was okay... but I am not a taquito person, so if you are I would seriously encourage you to try it. The star of the table was the Mexican corn. It may not compete with Cornman in Lincoln Heights, but it was decent. I scraped off the onions and toppings on the ono tacos, put the fish on the flour tortillas that another person didn't want, and topped the fish with refried beans, street corn and a but if the chicken tortilla soup broth to make due. When you are driving more than 30 minutes for this experience, I think you would agree that it was less that a proper way to celebrate a birthday. Oh and if there isn't any street parking. It'll cost you about 9 bucks in the lot. I didn't use the restroom, so I cant review its cleanliness. Our waitress was flawless taking orders and delivering food The restaurant itself has a great layout and an outdoor courtyard complete with propane heaters and umbrellas - I loved that... but my favorite part was out front, no not the seating area in the former parking spaces, nope... it was the collapsed woman on the sidewalk, walking her dog with snot running out of her nose because she was huffing some aerosol can of whatever. This truly set the mood upon arrival. Two stars for being close to a lot of other food choices to visit afterward.

We asked if they had any plant-based or vegan options. They only sold burgers however the lady that helped us was very sweet, polite, and kind. She told what they had and what we could order inside instead. We walked in and the gentleman named Oscar G. cashed us out. He was also very friendly! Very professional and knowledgeable about the menu and non-dairy items. Provided us with what we needed right away, the container for the salsa and brought out fresh ones for me. Very nice guy. The food came out right away. The portions were big in my opinion. The prices were decent, the portion was great, and best of all the service was good. Their self-serve condiments was a PLUS! I've been to a lot of taco spots and these were by far the freshest and crispiest cucumbers, fresh cold salsa, onions and cilantro was also fresh. The food was good and filled us up. It was simple but fulfilling. Will definitely be back and highly recommend it. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor seats as well.

I ordered the asada, carnitas, al pastor, tripas, cabeza, and lengua. The asada was tender with a nice grilled flavor, but my favorites were definitely the tripas and cabeza. Both were a little greasy, but in a good way--they had a lot of flavor and were probably the standouts of the meal for me. One thing I liked was the condiment bar. You can load up your tacos with as much onion and cilantro as you want, plus they have radishes and lime wedges available. They also offer two salsas, a red and a green. Both tasted good and had solid flavor, although I was hoping for a little more heat. Overall, it's a solid taco spot, especially on Taco Tuesday. Good variety of meats, reasonable prices, and plenty of toppings to customize your tacos. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area and craving some tacos.

The size of the bowl has diminished about 30% from what I remember but that's been a common theme the past few years in many places so oh well. We also ordered a side of chicken taquitos which came with a generous amount of sour cream and guacamole. The food was very good overall although the chunks of beef in my tamale were dry. There is street parking and an underground parking garage a short distance away. There are quite a few restaurants in the area so parking can be a little challenging.
