    Tacos (birria, labio, cachete)

Tacos De Birria La Chiva Loca is another worthy taco stand to add to your rotation. From 7:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. you'll find them Wednesday to Sunday in the same sandy lot next to the railroad tracks that many other taco stands call home on different days and hours. I got 3 tacos for $7.50 which was kind to my wallet and tasty for my belly. It may be my gringo palette but the sauces were spicy but a wonderful addition to the tacos.

My absolute go-to for taco cravings in the South Bay! Pastor, cabeza, asada with tacos and papas are all amazing. Everything, really.

When the craving hits, it's always tacos!…read more I stopped by Tacos El Goloso on PCH and ordered a mix of street tacos (carnitas and al pastor) along with the tacos dorados de birria. I've been here before, and the birria tacos were exactly what I needed for a late-night craving. Crispy on the outside with a good amount of filling and strong flavor - they really hit the spot. I ended up having four of them. The consomé on the side was really good too - rich and flavorful, almost something I could've just had on its own. The street tacos were solid. The carnitas had that tender, slightly crisp texture, and the al pastor added a bit more seasoning and contrast. Nothing overcomplicated, just straightforward and satisfying. Service was friendly, and the setup is quick and casual. In the South Bay where places tend to close early, it was nice that they were open until around 10pm. Overall, this is a no-frills taco spot where the focus is on the food. Easy choice when you're in the mood for tacos.

Today we got consomme, chips, and cucumber agua fresca. But the drink tasted a little on the stale side as if it's been there for days and not replenished daily. Not sure what happened. Usually it's on point but somebody dropped the ball. So taste the agua fresca before you walk away to make sure it's freshly made (fyi). Otherwise, food is great and consistent. Service: sometimes it's good sometimes not just depends on the day I guess. Ambiance: busy, always busy so maybe call or order online if you don't want to wait.

Tom's Tacos -- Definitely Worth the Bite!…read more Tom's Tacos definitely knows how to make a taco! The crispy tacos were the star of the show. That perfect crispy shell paired with the soft, flavorful shredded beef inside made every bite absolutely delicious. The beef was tender, seasoned just right, and packed with flavor. And let's talk about the guacamole! Absolutely amazing. Fresh, creamy, and full of flavor--it was the perfect addition to the tacos and burritos. The salsa deserves some love too. It had just the right amount of flavor without overpowering the food. It complimented both the tacos and burritos perfectly. Now, I'll be honest--the prices are a little on the high side. But when the food is this good, I can understand paying a little extra. The portions, flavors, and overall quality make it definitely worth the money. If you're craving some seriously good tacos, Tom's Tacos is worth checking out. Come hungry, grab some guacamole, and don't skip those crispy tacos!

This review is about Tacos El Goloso, located at 1605 Pacific Coast Hwy, Harbor City, CA…read more My daughter is an EMT. While on duty, she stopped at this location and placed an order. Before her food was ready, she received an emergency call and had to leave immediately. That's the reality of being a first responder--when a call comes in, you leave immediately, no time to wait for your meal. Before leaving, she politely asked the cashier to cancel the order and refund her card. Instead of showing understanding or offering assistance, the cashier was dismissive and unhelpful. After completing the call, my daughter contacted the restaurant, apologized for the inconvenience, and again requested a refund. She was initially told that the receipt had been thrown away. Later, the receipt was apparently found, but she was then informed that if she wanted a refund--or even the food she had paid for--she would have to return to the location in person. The problem is that she lives more than an hour away and was only in the area because she was working. I called the following day in an attempt to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, I was met with the same attitude. The employee refused to provide her name, refused to provide a manager's name, and refused to provide any contact information for someone who could address the complaint. To be clear, this is not about the cost of a meal. Had the employee been courteous, professional, or even remotely helpful, we likely would have let the matter go. Emergencies happen. Schedules change. We understand that. What prompted this review was not the lost food or the refund itself--it was the employee's rude attitude, lack of professionalism, and complete unwillingness to help resolve a simple customer service issue. I will also acknowledge that by the end of my phone call, I became frustrated and was not as polite as I should have been. I regret that. However, that frustration came only after repeated attempts to handle the situation respectfully and being met with rudeness and resistance at every turn. A business can recover from a mistake. What it cannot afford is employees who treat customers with contempt and then refuse to provide any way to contact management when a legitimate concern is raised. Management should be aware that this employee's behavior reflects poorly on the entire business. If this is how customers are treated when they encounter an unexpected emergency, then potential customers deserve to know before choosing to spend their money here.

It was a big portion and hit the spot on a warm day. However I wouldn't recommend the sampler. The tacos were pretty small so by time you process what you're tasting, it's gone. I woke up early to lounge and go for a dip at Hermosa Beach. After 3.5 hours, I was hungry and looking for something closeby, filling, and refreshing. Service was friendly, quick and overall solid. No major complaints. I absolutely loved the tacos I ordered: Pescado, Tinga, and Papas con Chorizo. The last two tacos had a little kick of heat to them which were enjoyable; I seriously considering purchasing more for takeout cause that's how awesome they were. I also got the Armando Palmero (2/3 Limon, 1/3 Jamaica) - perfectly tart and really complemented the savory flavor profile of my tacos of choice. The only callout I have is that the countertops and tables could be cleaner, but I shouldn't be too critical about this since I came in right after the lunch rush prior to any cleanup from said rush. I'm already looking forward to the next time I'm in the area because I have the melon & horchata agua frescos top of mind.

I ended up getting a chorizo breakfast burrito for $14.50. The burrito is good. The flour tortilla is quality and tastes as if they're made in house. There is a good amount of chorizo and egg; however, for my preferences, it was light on the crispy hash browns and mine was pretty heavy on the melty cheese. Their red salsa is really flavorful, however, and that amplifies the flavors. I definitely would come back if I were in the area, in order to try their tacos, burritos, and ceviches. I hear good things about their fish tacos! Overall, I'm glad that I stopped by when I was in the area.
