#24 Burrito Platter, Meat Burrito with Beans & Rice on the Side
    Lawrence H.

Been eating here for many years. My go-tos were the carne asada burrito or the carne asada burrito platter dry. Recently, I've switched over the carnitas burrito platter dry. The carnitas was tender and tasty. Service is always friendly and prompt.

Always a great meal here - taco or burrito or everything in between. Service is always quick and the salsa and chips refreshing and hits that craving you get! Inside is simple tables and decor - we often get takeout but ate inside this last time with my mom. Portions are quite large and good value still in these times so come with an appetite!

Food is good but prices have definitely surged up. $20 for a plate where I'm used to $10-15 in LA or at other places. The flavor is there but value I'm unsure. Their chips and salsa are still my favorite to date tho!

Three locations, this one is on pch next to a McDonald's. It's in an old Taco Bell building Service The folks are super nice ! Gave me recommendations on what to get. Ambiance Imagine an old Taco Bell interior and you toyo ally know what it'll be like. Food The tacos are awesome. But I swear they are different at this location from the one father down pch. Maybe it's my imagination They also bring out chips and salsa here, which is super nice. For a qsr, this place is great It's sort of a so cal institution. When I went the chefs were singing Mexican songs. Love it Definitely with a stop

KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid)! That's what a wise man once told me. Who doesn't like a hearty breakfast on the weekend? I'm always down after a tough work week. Too often in Southern California, you need a reservation to eat even a quick breakfast. Granted, if I wasn't so lazy, I would prepare my own meal. On this day I needed a quick meal, preferably a delicious one. BINGO! Now I've dined at El Burrito Junior (LBJ to us socal folks) many times for lunch and dinner. This was my first breakfast and I was pleasantly surprised. It's not a fancy place but the workers are friendly and the service is quick. There are simple booths as well as outdoor tables. It's very clean. The breakfast was simple and surpassed my expectations. Sausage and eggs were cooked perfectly to order. Not skimpy links but thick tubes of meat with a nice charred exterior and snap. Rice and beans were generously scooped on the plate to support the meal. Who needs toast and potatoes?! Choice of corn or flour tortillas. Of course chips and salsa to start. Salsa is tart, slightly smoky, with mild heat. Extra salsa available to enhance the eggs. Hmm, I wonder if this is why I decided to critique the restroom? So if you're lazy like me and can't get a table anywhere for breakfast, give it a try. There is a convenient parking lot. Additional TMI note: the bathroom was very clean for a fast food place.

Average food, below average service and attitude. Things could be improved very here here. Tons of potential.

Ordered a $15 burrito. Very small. Carne Asada ground up - expected decent size pieces. Much too expensive for the size and quality.

Madre Enchiladas: If you can't choose, pick them all! On a platter as wide as a pizza with a low rim, the mole sauces are practically overflowing. It's like an artist's palette board with four earthy mole colors. Mole Rojo, is an auburn blend of chilies, nuts, chocolate, and spices. The enchilada's corn tortilla is wrapped around my favorite filling, tender and juicy carnitas. My favorite mole is the Mole Negro, black as the nighttime sky with a deep smoky and sweet flavors. The dry chilies, sesame seeds, nuts, Oaxacan chocolate, and herbs provide a velvety sauce for the chicken picadillo. The darkly hued Mole Coloraditos has a little bit of a spicy kick from its toasted chilies, nuts, sesame seeds, chocolate, tomatoes, and spices. It's hard not to use the shredded beef enchilada to swab the plate clean. I would seriously lick the plate clean if I was at home. OK, the last one isn't a mole. The Salsa Verde is tangy from its tomatillos, green chilies, onions and garlic. The crumbly chorizo and cheese enchilada is comforting. The enchiladas are topped with queso fresco, onions, and parsley. Parking: There's plenty of street parking, but you may have to walk a couple blocks.

Everything tasted incredibly fresh and perfectly seasoned. We ordered the carne asada and carnitas, and both were amazing. The meat was tender, flavorful, and not fatty at all just perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. My daughter had the bean and cheese burrito with rice and beans and loved it too. They bring out three different salsas with the chips, and each one had its own unique flavor. You can tell the chips are house-made because they're fresh, crisp, and just really good. Some Mexican restaurants can make things overly salty, but everything here tasted balanced and fresh. I also had a Paloma and it was made perfectly. Before we left we decided to try the churros and I'm so glad we did. They were filled with this amazing cream and came with a caramel sauce for dipping. I'm not usually a big dessert person, but these were seriously incredible. Great location, great service, amazing food, and everything tasted fresh and well made. We will definitely be back!

We ordered the birria tacos, 3 beef tacos and a burrito. it did not have the consume dip that is supposed to come with it ( had to request from the waiter) & the whole entire taco shell fell apart. The portions were quite small and the prices have surely gone up for the amount of food on the plate. The burrito wasn't bad. Service wasn't great. Waiter never refilled our water glasses. He kept pushing dessert when we weren't even finished with our meal. Ambiance is typical of most Mexican style restaurants. Sorry, but we will not be going back to El Torito.

I've been here before, and the birria tacos were exactly what I needed for a late-night craving. Crispy on the outside with a good amount of filling and strong flavor - they really hit the spot. I ended up having four of them. The consomé on the side was really good too - rich and flavorful, almost something I could've just had on its own. The street tacos were solid. The carnitas had that tender, slightly crisp texture, and the al pastor added a bit more seasoning and contrast. Nothing overcomplicated, just straightforward and satisfying. Service was friendly, and the setup is quick and casual. In the South Bay where places tend to close early, it was nice that they were open until around 10pm. Overall, this is a no-frills taco spot where the focus is on the food. Easy choice when you're in the mood for tacos.

They told us we could sit anywhere. It has a modern feel, plus lots of TVs, so maybe also a sports bar-vibe? They had the Olympics on, so I'm not complaining. They provide complimentary chips and salsa. I actually really liked the seasoning on the chips. Salsa was pretty good as well. We ordered a few tacos off the happy hour menu: fish taco, fried shrimp taco, chicken mole, and asada. Did not expect them to be as big as they were! Between two of us, we were stuffed from 4 tacos and could barely finish them. I really liked the chicken mole. I thought that the addition of the slivered almonds, pepitas and radishes was a delicious touch that really enhanced the texture with a bit of crunch. However, I got the scooner of Max's marg and thought that it was sorta of weak. Couldn't taste much tequila. The other downside was that there was a really loud party at the other end of the restaurant and one of them had a really sharp voice. I get that they probably were also enjoying the happy hour, but it really echos throughout the restaurant... and I don't think the servers can do much to quiet down a rowdy table a paying patrons...
