I'd recommend not ordering the dozen raw oyster plate. The oysters were SO sad looking and it looks like it's been sitting out for awhile! I had to tell the staff that I was NOT eating that. I'm a oyster lover and that didn't look FRESH at all. Other than that they took it off the bill, I didn't touch not one and wouldn't recommend. It seemed like the staff didn't like that I didn't approve of the dish but it did not look like it was okay to eat. Other than that I like coming to mambos to enjoy oysters but that one, oh no. I hadn't eaten at Mambos in a few years. Today I decided to do take out. I am a Picky eater so this Meal will be Stripped down but the Cost will not. It was sometime after Noon, so a Lunch Meal. At the door there where some very nice looking Women to Greet me. I had my Bose Headphones on listening to Reggaeton as I do Daily, if you don't know better ask somebody. I was directed to the Bar Area, as I fought a bit with a bar chair, right away I was asked if I wanted to order takeout. I acknowledged her and she gave me time to belly up to the Bar. I requested a Spicy Michelada only to find its not called that there but she had me Covered and didn't correct me. After quite a bit of time passed, not being able to put together a Combo that I wanted, I invited the Bar tender to help me out. I wanted Fish, But their main fish is Tilapia and Catfish. Tilapia is a Trash fish, Catfish a Bottom feeder. Tilapia and Swai I will never eat on Purpose and Catfish non Farm Raised only as a last Choice. If possible no Farm Raised Seafood, my Words my taste, you do you. I ended up after tearing apart 2 Meals, settling on, Fried Snapper no Flour and Grilled Shrimp 8. Both came with 2 side Combinations and Bread which I Refused. Keeping n mind it still cost the same. While waiting, it was loud. I thought I heard the flo of some Reggaeton, then Oh S, remembered it was coming from my headphones. Looking around it was pretty busy, and that's Really all I can tell you, because I am Single and my eyes did get a lot of exercise and my arm did a lot of pull ups. Then it hit me, I use to inspect this location as a Secret Shopper. I was going to share that story with the Bar tender then thought if I do I may scare the crap out of her thinking that's why I am there. The meal was good, but the way I eat it was not seasoned enough for me. I do Spicy. I did enjoy the time at the Bar, and because of my Military Gear being Retired She gave me a Military Discount with out me Asking. Best bang for you buck here. The food is always made to order, with the exception of the rice in sure. Everything is always hot and fresh. I've been visiting several locations for years and don't have anything bad to say. It's a casual seafood restaurant. Family friendly, beers, margaritas and good food. Overall bad service. When arriving our waitress took over 15 minutes to just come assist us with our drinks. Then after complaining over this issue she took an additional FIVE MINUTES to come. At this point we had waited over 20 minutes with no drinks or order placed. When she did arrive she had such a bad attitude not even meeting our eyes and with a rude manner she took our order. When receiving our drink we'd decide to change ONE only one thing from the order we had just place. When hearing this she rudely responded acting like it was the end of the world. The restaurant is surprisingly large, with well over 50 tables and enough staff to cover it all if they would actually serve tables and not just cluster in two areas gossiping with each other. I ordered their main fried seafood plate. The fish filets were bland, borderline tasteless. You could tell that they came out of some frozen bag that was shipped over who knows how long ago. The shrimp were large and butterflied, making for an impressive size, but were tough. The fries were one of the few things that seemed freshly cooked. The one highlight was their Mambo Fried Rice, which might be the only reason I'd ever return here. They serve it in heaping portions and it's surprisingly well cooked for a restaurant that you wouldn't expect to be able to order fried rice from. read more

The quantity is generous but the food is flavorless. I had to use Valentina hot sauce liberally to make my meal slightly enjoyable. Salad was iceberg lettuce which I can't stand. Mambo's has by far the best shrimp fried rice !! I don't know how they make it, but it tastes better than fried rice from Asian restaurants in China Town. I would keep coming back here just for the rice. On this particular visit, I had the Mambo Combo, which was a fried platter of various seafoods such as shrimp, fish, stuffed crab, and stuff shrimp! Been to this restaurant about twice now. It's a good spot to go to for lunch and also dinner. They have a variety of seafood options (fried, grilled, sautéed, boiled, etc.) which is very good. Also, the food is cheap and inexpensive and you get a lot of food for the price. They have great drinks as well (my favorite is the Mangolava). That fourth star is for them admirably being patient with me calling back several times to change and add things to my order. I'm working close to here and now and again my coworkers want mambo. So I get elected to call in for the whole rehab team. Then someone changes their mind. Then someone changes their side. Then someone says hey they want some too. You get it. Every time I call back the staff are very friendly, kind, and make no complaint about the order changes. Our orders are always correct and they have no problem charging separate orders.
