Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. During a 3-night stay, we experienced numerous maintenance failures and extremely poor support. This unit is clearly not well maintained. The first night, the circuit breaker tripped and we lost power and lights in most of the unit for 12 hours. I called and messaged repeatedly and could not get help. Cooking in pitch black wasn't easy. There was no after-hours emergency number on their voicemail at the time (this appeared only AFTER the incident when I complained). I requested compensation and received none. I was even told there were "no issues," despite being on the phone during business hours and receiving verbal instructions on how to fix it myself. This involved first finding the circuit box outside, then resetting the switches & GFI buttons inside. Finding the unit was also unnecessarily difficult. It's in Building G. We searched for 45 minutes in the dark. This information is buried under "Amenities" instead of being included with check-in instructions. When I pointed this out, I was treated like I was the problem. Additional issues included a TV that randomly stopped working (outlet broke), an extremely finicky furnace (we fixed a broken wire), a broken wall heater, an unsafe and unusable couch bed (claiming it is 'fine' should reflect their standards) pellet bags piled in the living area, flimsy fixtures, a shower door that wouldn't close, and loud furnace/vent noises at night. They want to argue with me because they say it's an easy fix. Well this isn't my house. All I know is the power is out and I have no help in the dark. Don't know where the box is don't know the switches. Plus this was fun- they had a lock in the circuit box! No accountability. Bottom line: poorly maintained unit and terrible management. Their response below alone has been just as dismissive as they have always been. Beware

Then I heard nothing back from anyone all night. In the morning, after sending more texts and phone calls to confirm and hearing nothing I figured I had the late check out. But then the company told me I did not, in fact have it BUT if I wanted to pay $100 / hour I could stay until twelve. I felt completely scammed. Either I can stay or I can't but to charge me for something I was offered for free is horrible customer service. We loved the cabin (even though the wifi never worked) but will think twice booking through Nomadness or Horizon 4 again.

I planned this trip with a group of friends, and they could not stop commenting about how the chalets was the best stay they've been in at Mammoth. We stayed at chalet #9 which was not a ski out, but a very short walk to the main lodge/lifts and definitely a ski in from lower road runner. The chalet itself was cozy with plentiful seating, and even extra foldable chairs for our group. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms came equipped with hotel sized toiletries, which was a nice touch. The kitchen is a good size and well equipped with all the necessities, along with a fridge/freezer that was the perfect size to fit all of our weekend groceries. I also appreciated that they even had a huge pot to make group meals like pho, even though I had already brought my own instant pot. I would 110% stay here again and recommend the chalets to all of my family and friends. This was such a wonderful find. Thank you for the awesome stay Mammoth Mountain Chalets! :)

Multiple bedrooms and bathrooms were fantastic and David and Jacob were totally accommodating. The check in instructions were fantastic and the drop off and ski lockers were perfect. Not to discount you are a 100 feet from the gondola to canyon lodge and the village with a ton of restaurants, shopping and stores. We could walk to dinner in a minute and come back for poker night. Also an outdoor bbq at each place made dinner prep for our large group really easy. There is a ski rental place right in the village which was perfect and easy. Would definitely come back. Encourage anyone who is looking for an easy vacation in mammoth, with access to everything to book treehouse 1 and 2 or either one of you have a smaller group. Also, forgot to mention. We did not end up staying for our duration, could no longer deal with the mice situation. Hoping that they'll get this issue fixed, we would love to go back, as everything else was wonderful. Cabin was clean and very comfortable and a tranquil, peaceful view of the lake from our balcony. Unfortunately, the mice totally ruined our trip this year in August of 2025.

Finally, the grill/kitchen - that black bean burger though...mmm. Homemade brownies and cobblers are a win too. I did choose the asparagus and zucchini cooked in marinara sauce and the restuffed baked half potato. This was an exceptional meal that was almost too big for me to finish, but I managed! The bison meat was flavorful and had not the slightest greasy quality about it. Getting meals of this quality when far off the beaten track is a delightful expectation when at Mono Hot Springs. You would be hard-pressed to find a meal this good in the towns further down the mountain.

Read Yelp and Google reviews, it's their pattern. Even Airbnb couldn't reach them and had to refund me 30%. The company finally offered to send an HVAC tech on the day were leaving. Absolutely shady, unprofessional, and dishonest. Do your research before booking--I wish I had. I fully expect another canned apology to this review.
