The only downsides I can think of if I really try is there are no balconies to enjoy the views outside. It snowed about a foot on our last night and we could not find any shovels or window scrapers in the condo. Luckily someone in the parking lot let us borrow their shovel to dig our cars and walkway out. Overall fantastic place, will definitely stay here again!

We rented a condo in mammoth over holiday break ( peak season ) Fist when we walked in there was an overwhelming stench that was nauseating, it smelled like a wet dog mixed with curry. We took off our shoes and immediately our socks were wet. My 15yro felt nauseous from the smell. Clearly the home wasn't inhabitable at this time. We contacted ready4rentals and they first stated that the carpets had recently been cleaned. Their only suggestion was to open all the windows and doors and let it air out. Keep in mind it's bellow zero and freezing and now dark. The unit was not ready for checkin at 4:30 upon our arrival, and we were unable to stay and had to find alternate lodgings last minute keep in mind the checkout is at 10 am they had almost 6 hours to get the place ready. They should have been the ones to air it out. They are so far refusing to issue a refund. We spend untold thousands of dollars on rentals every year and have Never had such an unprofessional experience ever ! They actually acknowledge the smell: wetness said it was from prior guests cooking. They haven't even offered to return one night or the cleaning deposit!!

Extremely Poor Customer Service -- Save Your Money and Stay Elsewhere…read more The saga at this hotel just continued to get worse. We booked six rooms as a group, paying rates of up to $450 per night, and virtually everyone in our group experienced problems. In our case, we paid for an air-conditioned room for three days, yet the AC did not work for two days -- while the heat was actually on. Despite calling the front desk repeatedly, the problem was never appropriately resolved. At one point, Allie (sp?), who originally checked us in, responded to our repeated concerns by saying, "We have given you the manager's fan. What else do you want?" The fact that a hotel charging these rates considers a portable fan an acceptable solution for a nonfunctioning AC system says a lot. Things became even more disturbing when we spoke with Aureli, the assistant manager. Rather than resolving the problem, the proposed solution appeared to be moving us to an inferior room. When we tried to discuss the situation with her, the interaction escalated and she ultimately left the lobby while asking us to leave. Throughout our stay, we encountered an astonishingly confrontational attitude from staff. Statements from Aureli included "You need to leave the lobby," "You can't tell us what to do," and even, incredibly, "We have the room but won't give it." She even walked out on us when we tried to ask her the reason she could not change our room. This is not simply poor customer service; it reflects staff who appear inadequately trained in how to handle legitimate guest concerns professionally and respectfully. There were plenty of other problems as well: our bathroom cleaning was missed, the rooms were extremely noisy due to poor sound insulation, there was inadequate space for luggage, and there was no iron, phone etc etc But those inconveniences pale in comparison with the way guests were treated. Even more disappointing, Renee, the manager, never once spoke with us, despite the situation escalating to this degree. I do want to recognize Jenny, who was the one exception. She was courteous, helpful and genuinely tried to assist us, including helping us obtain the manager's fan so that we could at least sleep. We appreciated her kindness. When one guest has a problem, it can be an unfortunate incident. When a group books six rooms and everyone has complaints about the service, it suggests a much larger problem with how the property is being managed. For a hotel charging up to $450 a night, the combination of malfunctioning basic amenities, poor housekeeping, inadequate facilities and, above all, shockingly adversarial customer service is unacceptable. I rarely feel this strongly about a hotel, but based on our experience, I cannot recommend this property. Save your time, your money and your frustration and stay somewhere else. This hotel needs a serious review of its management, staff training and basic standards of hospitality.

Wrong choice. I thought I'll just grab something I can heat up in the morning in the microwave. Yeah, there is none. So the $ difference is lost. It's also an older building, there are no ramps or elevators to enter the building or 2nd floor. It's also noisy. Between the noise from the hallway to the busy and the cars outside I'm not sure which was louder. Room was clear and tidy, but design choices left a lot to be desired. There were no doors on the sink vanity and it just looked like someone took the doors off and forgot to put them back on. The closet in the corner was right next to the bedside table so it cramped and we had small bags.

We ended up taking out our own garbage, buying toilet paper at the store next-door and carrying our own linens back up to the room so that we had fresh supplies. On the morning of checkout, we left our room at 7 o'clock to go next-door for breakfast. When we returned at 8:15, our keys had been disabled and we were unable to enter into our room. Checkout time is 10 o'clock so I'm unsure why they chose to disable our keys so early in the morning. Again, we went downstairs and had to deal with the old lady up front. She did not seem interested in helping, but grudgingly gave us keys so that we could get back into our room until checkout time. It's unfortunate that such a beautiful property is being micromanaged by someone like the person at the front desk. Such potential being wasted on horrible employees. We will not be back.

The biggest frustration was the reservation situation. At check-in, we were told we had booked the wrong date, even though our confirmation through Booking.com clearly showed the correct reservation date. We ended up being charged, and now we have to sort it out afterward through Booking.com, which is frustrating because based on other reviews mentioning similar issues, it honestly seemed more like a property-side problem than ours. Now for the surprisingly good part: the little café upstairs, which I believe may be associated with the lodge. That place was actually really enjoyable. Great views, a lovely outdoor yard area to sit and eat, and genuinely good food with huge portions. And when I say huge, I mean the burrito could probably qualify as emergency wilderness survival equipment. If you order it, prepare yourself. That thing could easily feed four people, no exaggeration. We may still be digesting it somewhere between Mono Lake and Death Valley. Overall, this is not a luxury stay by any means, but as a practical overnight stop near Mono Lake, it worked well enough. Just double-check your reservation details carefully and maybe arrive with realistic expectations about the rooms. Oh!
