As you can see from the photo the soup was the saddest I've ever had, when he put it down in front of me I almost laughed out loud. The egg foo yung was decent, if I had another craving for it I would definitely get it here again, maybe without the pork next time. Fried rice was just rice with soy sauce. Inside is aged and you can tell it's been there awhile, server was competent but very taciturn.

Tried Noodle Works for the first time, after hearing about it on social media. I placed an online…read moreorder for the two chicken egg rolls, Spicy chili wontons, general Tso chicken and an order of fried rice flat noodles. All the food was on the expensive side, but I heard it was good, so I didn't mine. One of the first thing I noticed was the entrees do not come with rice. There is a $1 up charge for white rice and $3 for fried rice, $5 for noodles. I have never experienced a Chinese restaurant that charged for white rice with an entree (not even PF Chang). I arrived 10 minutes after the time I was told my food would be ready. I checked in at the register and was told it would be another 5 minutes. I was told to have a seat and wait. Since there is no place to sit when waiting for a take out order, I sat down in the closet booth next to the register. After about 1 minute, a very rude lady came over in broken English and screamed that I could not sit there. I told her I was waiting on a to-go order and she just kept screaming "you don't can sit there", so I got up and stood by the front door. If my food had not already been paid for, I would have left after that rude encounter. The ambiance of the restaurant is very strange as they had a boombox loudly playing 80s music. It was so load, I felt bad for the customers who were eating at there. No way you could enjoy siting there listening to the annoying loud music while you ate. About 5 minutes later (15 minutes past the time they originally told me it would be ready) my food was ready. The food did come out very hot. I retrieved my food and took it home to enjoy. Overall the food is very basic and not worth the elevated price. The egg rolls were over fried and greasy. The spicy wonton were very bland and not spicy at all. The general Tso chicken was not good. Very small pieces of chicken, over breaded and a bland sauce. Again not spicy at all. The fried flat rice noodles were the biggest disappointment. Mushy noodles that were all stuck together. Not good at all. Overall the Noodle Works was a big disappointment. There are so many better option in the area (Dragon House or the Wok). Do yourself a favor and skip the rude staff Noodle Works.

Update July 2026:…read more Things have changed here and that's a real win for Grapevine. This location has recently returned to onsite cooking, not just onsite prep. The difference in taste and freshness is amazing and long overdue to return the menu and experience to its former glory. Big shout out on service too.
