First time. Service was responsive. Came to try the "Szechuan Boiled Fish," which is my fav. But actually, I tried the "Sliced Fish in Spicy Oil." Both are similar $26 fish soups. Should've done a side-by-side, but it was only me. Lol. The fish was exquisite. The heat was also good. This dish pairs really well with rice; I also enjoy taking the leftovers home, letting them sit overnight in the fridge, and enjoying with more rice. Mmm! But I am from out of town and was alone, so I ate it all there. They don't have WiFi, but there was some "guest Frontier" WiFi that was good for an hour. (And you can refresh it each hour.) Next time, I would try the "Szechuan Boiled Fish." Or if that's too much, the Mapo Tofu. The radio was playing like Christian soul; new to me, but as a Christian, I didn't mind. =) Oh, and in the pic I have my Kefir from Trader Joe's. Tried Noodle Works for the first time, after hearing about it on social media. I placed an online order for the two chicken egg rolls, Spicy chili wontons, general Tso chicken and an order of fried rice flat noodles. All the food was on the expensive side, but I heard it was good, so I didn't mine. One of the first thing I noticed was the entrees do not come with rice. There is a $1 up charge for white rice and $3 for fried rice, $5 for noodles. I have never experienced a Chinese restaurant that charged for white rice with an entree (not even PF Chang). I arrived 10 minutes after the time I was told my food would be ready. I checked in at the register and was told it would be another 5 minutes. I was told to have a seat and wait. Since there is no place to sit when waiting for a take out order, I sat down in the closet booth next to the register. After about 1 minute, a very rude lady came over in broken English and screamed that I could not sit there. I told her I was waiting on a to-go order and she just kept screaming "you don't can sit there", so I got up and stood by the front door. If my food had not already been paid for, I would have left after that rude encounter. The ambiance of the restaurant is very strange as they had a boombox loudly playing 80s music. It was so load, I felt bad for the customers who were eating at there. No way you could enjoy siting there listening to the annoying loud music while you ate. About 5 minutes later (15 minutes past the time they originally told me it would be ready) my food was ready. The food did come out very hot. I retrieved my food and took it home to enjoy. Overall the food is very basic and not worth the elevated price. The egg rolls were over fried and greasy. The spicy wonton were very bland and not spicy at all. The general Tso chicken was not good. Very small pieces of chicken, over breaded and a bland sauce. Again not spicy at all. The fried flat rice noodles were the biggest disappointment. Mushy noodles that were all stuck together. Not good at all. Overall the Noodle Works was a big disappointment. There are so many better option in the area (Dragon House or the Wok). Do yourself a favor and skip the rude staff Noodle Works. read more

I got a bunch of dishes for dinner tonight. I got the chilly wonton, orange chicken, combination Singapore noodles and Mongolian beef. The packaging was subpar because the chilly oil leaked from the bag and got all over my car. All the dishes were delicious though. They were really well spiced and seasoned and I found the portions to be decent. I interacted briefly with the servers when I went to pickup my food and they were friendly and polite. read more

Had a decent size online order. Got orange chicken without the orange sauce, so it was just dry fried chicken with a weird texture. The fried rice I got tasted like it had too much soy or something so it was off. But the chicken egg rolls and the beef pot stickers were flavorful and delicious. Overpriced and revolting food! Ordered to go food for our first trip and decided on the chef's special sizzling beef. It was horrible and ridiculously overpriced. Although the beef was tender it was ruined by the cooks dumping loads of black pepper flakes into the sauce. I've eaten food from Chinese restaurants from New York City to San Francisco and am an excellent judge of a good dish (or a bad one) and this was not a good dish. Look at this photo compared to the picture online - online no pepper and beef in a golden hued brown sauce. In real life, a middling soy sauce base that cannot even be tasted because the cook threw about two tablespoons of black pepper in it. To be clear, I can handle spicy food and this black pepper doesn't even register as spicy. Just as peppery and a very boring flavor. To make matters worse, Noodle Works was stingy with adding vegetables and they charge extra for rice. I know Southlake is pricey, but this is just ridiculous. I walked in to pick up our food and it just looks like a mediocre Chinese restaurant so it's not like the ambience is anything special. It's also annoying that they advertise softened water as if that justifies the high prices they're charging for horrendous food. We had to throw this out after sampling it because who in their right mind would be happy to eat this garbage covered in black pepper? The Panda Express across the street looks practically gourmet by comparison! read more

It's not the best I've had but it's ok. I thought all the dishes were a bit greasy and lack an important ingredient-salt. Which is why I gave it 3 stars. It's in a convenient location so in a pinch I'd eat it again. I really wish Howard Wangs was still in Southlake because they were always consistently good. I'd say that dragon house is much better on flavor so I'd probably recommend them over this place. Service was only ok- the waitress seemed like she did not want to be there. Overall ambiance was great. It's a new restaurant so it's clean. I may try it again in the future, hopefully the flavor will be there to up their stars. read more

When grading this restaurant, I can hear the alphabet song playing in the background. Everything from A-F can and will apply. The restaurant is clean, modern and attractive. It's easy to find, and there is plenty of parking. No one who serves you will speak English very well - which, can become a problem if you have questions. Like many ethic eateries, you have to be careful about what you order. Beef flat noodles, wontons in chili sauce, any fish entree is solid, A+ stuff. Simple things like char siu bao (mushy, almost watery and bland), green onion pancakes (gummy and oily) are ghastly. If you're a dumpling fan, I hope you like dough. The skins are very thick and chewy, but the fillings are delicious. Again, just wildly inconsistent. Esoteric items like Szechuan fish soup are, imo, world class. Phenomenal spicy cumin lamb ... who knows how to cook lamb right? Well, they do. But ... their white rice was undercooked and tasted like it had been made yesterday - I couldn't eat it. Eating there is a bizarre multi-tiered experience. I give Noodleworks three stars because some items were five star and some should get dead zeros. read more

The food was epic my wife ordered crab Rangoon and egg rolls and I ordered chicken fried rice with fried Samsun dumplings. The dumplings came with a delicate thin lace like covering that was delicately placed on the plate! It was food art and tasted better than it looked!! Very nice decor and the serving staff have a nice demeanor, but that's sadly all the positives. Several of the waiters look like they'd rather be somewhere else, we had to literally wave our arms to get attention and there are only about 5 tables seated right now. I had the dumpling combo, very nicely hand formed with distinctly different flavors but they came with no dipping sauce, that's when the arm waving came into play to try and get a small dish to put some soy sauce & vinegar in to make my own sauce. All the food came out together which is a pet peeve of mine, the appetizer is just that, the food you bring me first not the food you bring after my entree. From a taste perspective everything was faintly too sweet, the Crab Rangoon were the sweetest, dumplings also sweet as was the Mongolian Chicken. Overall I've had much worse experiences in Chinese restaurants and I'll give them another go when they're not brand new and getting on their feet. Good noodles with pleasant flavors. I had the braised beef noodle soup and the beef was fork tender with a good serving size. I added a picture of the noodles as compared to a fork, the noodles are thick, more spaghetti like in size if you like a heavier noodle. The restaurant is nice and clean my only recommendation would be for the service staff, while they are not rude they do rush and come off a pushy. For example as soon as you sit you're asked if ready to order, the waiter opens your menu, points and gives you a hurry up feeling, then as soon as you take your last bite there is check with a muffled "thank you" which really seems like bye and leave. I felt there was an urgency from the waiter during normal hours with 90% empty tables. A little take your time and enjoy would go a long way for guest. read more

There wasn't a lot of sticky stuff or sesame seeds on the bottom, but was the favorite of what we ordered. Combination dumplings. We're just ok. We didn't finish them. The sesame chicken was the teens choice for entree. We knew items for family size portions so we started with this. We were well finished with our appetizers until the main dish came out. We could tell it sat a while. The broccoli was cold and the chicken sauce was congealed and barely warm. It was just an ok dish. There were 3 of us and we ordered 3 items and didn't finish anything. Our waiter brought our check. My husband gave him his credit card. He returned with the ti key only to charge 90+ instead of $45. We asked a waitress to have him come back. She did. Stopped in for the first time in our search for good Asian basics . Place was very clean and comfortable, and the service was good and friendly. Prices normal I guess. Had a beef a mushroom dish that was very tender , rice prepared well and overall flavorful. Soup I had was good, egg drop, and I everything tasted fresh. I'll be back to try other dishes. This category is lacking imo out this way, so a good and reliable Chinese dish here will be welcomed to me. My friend and I picked up dinner for the family here on Christmas day. The service was fantastic, they were all very friendly and very helpful with questions about my food allergies, which not all restaurants are. They got us water while we waited for our pickup order without us having to ask and were generally really nice. The food was 10/10, I was actually a little sad once I finished all the beef pot stickers. The fried rice and bao were also better than other places. Came in for dinner on Christmas Night. They were slammed! 1 waiter for the whole restaurant, 1 person working takeout, and 2 people from what I could see in the kitchen. I say that to give context. Service was a little slow, but to be expected on Christmas night. The food was very good. We had a spicy dumplings as an appetizer, shared spicy chicken with fried noodles for dinner, and had chocolate bao for dessert. Seasoning was on point and the food was hot! I felt for the employees, as many people dining lacked the Christmas spirit and yelled loudly at the pace food was brought out. My Family and I ate here at lunch today to try it out since my daughter said this is a new Chinese restaurant in Southlake. We usually go to the other Chinese restaurant "DH". Coming from SoCal Los Angeles Area, where I have eaten and dined into great Chinese food from China Towns, Food was okay. Ambience is casual, Hand made noodles with braised beef was good, not too oily. (see picture) I believe this is a more of Szechuan place which they tend to be more saucy and on sweet side. Service was a little less responsive. They didn't have fried rice today ! For a Chinese food place, I believe Fried Rice is main staple menu. I was disappointed. Beef Flat Noodle and Spice Wontons in chili oil are both phenomenal. I recommend those two dishes for anyone to try!

O.K. is about as far as I can go. This is a huge restaurant. They need to keep it full to be able to pay for everything. Technically in Southlake, but not the "big money" part of Southlake. Prices are high, and the food doesn't match the price. Pricing needs to be more in line with NRH, Keller, Hurst, Wautaga. The Walnut Shrimp is an absolutely gorgeous presentation. It's huge - easily got two meals out of it. But the flavor doesn't match the pretty. Fried Rice was good. read more
