I have been here a number of times. The first time I went was when I had first moved to Muncie, and it was amazing. The next time I went it was with a bigger party. Both of our servers were amazing and so attentive. They definitely made the experience that much better. Olive Garden is one of those restaurants you ate at all the time as a child, but forget about as an adult. We were in Muncie for a sporting event and Olive Garden had no wait for our party. I'm bummed for days I can't partake in the breadsticks, but the salad is always good (it was just a tad bit overboard with onions) and they have a gluten free pasta that is delicious! Something was wrong with their sodas and the 2 of us who ordered a drink complained that it didn't taste right and ordered waters to substitute and we were shocked to see the $3.69/per drink charge still on our check. They also ran out of lemons for those drinking water. Say what?! The drinks are the main reason for the 4 stars. Service was good. We received a free dessert for a birthday girl. Everyone was pleased with their meals. I have to add Olive Garden to my back pocket for any time I'm craving some pasta. read more

We were recently in Yorktown for a volleyball training clinic and had a 2-hour break in between sessions. I called mid-week to see if I could make a reservation for 15 people and they said that was no problem. They asked if we were celebrating a birthday, anniversary, etc. so they could be prepared, which I thought was a nice touch. When we arrived, we had a moment of panic when they told us they didn't have our reservation anywhere. It was 1pm on a Saturday in a busy area of town, and I feared we might have to take all the girls to get drive-through food and eat in the car somewhere. Thankfully, they were able to get us set up within about 10 minutes and we were seated. They eventually found our reservation in the paper book--it just didn't make it to the electronic system. For this reason, I deducted 1 star and would also suggest calling the morning of to confirm that you're set if you set up a reservation in advance. Joe was our server, and he was fantastic. Even with a group of 11 volleyball players and 4 parents, he kept our drinks topped off and made sure we had plenty of breadsticks. He handled having to split up a bunch of checks seamlessly, even when some were paying with cash and others paid with cards, and he overheard that it was someone's birthday and brought out a dessert for her. I appreciated his great personality and awesome service! All of the servers were wearing masks, the restaurant was clean, and our food arrived to the table hot. read more

Great night at Olive Garden! Had not eaten at an O G in ages. We had a party of 14 and were celebrating a birthday for one of our friends. The wait was approximately an hour, but it was Friday night so that was understandable. Our servers were Lucas and Sarah and they were awesome! The food came out in waves since the kitchen was short staffed, but it wasn't bad. I ordered fettuccini with salmon and asparagus. Delicious! I just switched out the mashed potatoes and broccoli so it would be exactly what I wanted. Everyone else at the table seemed to be enjoying their food. Family from all corners of the country met in Muncie for a family memorial service. Olive Garden made accommodation for 17 of us for dinner. Service was excellent and food was excellent. What a fantastic staff! I ate here with my friend and both they hostess that sat us and our waitress Faith were a delight! Faith was the perfect waitress, and was attentive without being overbearing. My friend and I split the giant chicken parmigiana that comes with a side of fettuccine alfredo. Definitely recommend splitting this with at least one other person! We were full, and we were both able to take home leftovers. The best part was that the meal is only $17.99! We also order a couple of their $5 cocktails. I tired the watermelon margarita, and my friend got the green apple sangria. They were both delicious, but they are definitely on the sugary side. listen, i am never one to complain because i understand what it's like to work at a job that's understaffed. However, we asked our waitress 4 times for our alfredo dip while everyone else (even people seated after me and my date) got theirs. not to mention they only gave us 2 breadsticks in a basket. im not sure if i'll return. the whole time i was here , at first i was understanding now im just annoyed. not even our chicken on our chicken alfredo was cooked all the way. read more

I admit to having a weakness for the OG. I know it's not "real" Italian, but I truly do not care. It tastes good and that's all that matters. If you're looking up the Olive Garden on Yelp in hopes that some Tuscan-born transplant is going to be singing its praises, you're likely barking up the wrong tree. It's just an Americanized version of ethnic cuisine whose founders had the good sense to include unlimited breadsticks and salad (or soup, if you'd rather) with their menu offerings. I feel like everyone should know this already. This particular location has been hit or miss for me. I've had terrible service and, like yesterday, excellent service. Myrah was our server and was attentive, friendly, timely and accommodating. I normally get the Portobello Mushroom Ravioli, Chicken Scampi (but with bow-tie pasta instead of the mushy angelhair) or Seafood Portofino (no mussels, extra scallops), but you can't go wrong with the traditional dishes either. Don't skip over the Zuppa Toscana if you get a chance... it's a lot more flavorful than their tomato-based soups. Bottom line: Don't go here expecting the real deal and you'll likely leave satisfied. read more

I ate here not long ago because my wife wanted to go. It had been a while and I'm not a huge fan of corporate restaurants but I went with an open mind. What I got was a "taste of Italy" platter and a chicken and gnocchi soup. The soup had so much sodium it was almost unbearable. The gnocchi were obviously frozen and the texture wasn't right. I guess I'm just used to fresh but whatever. The chicken, I could barely find it. The sampler was an average sauce over under seasoned pasta. The "lasagna" was to frozen stuffed pasta things (for lack of a better word" that had been covered in cheese and more red sauce and baked. The chicken Parm wasn't bad for a chain but again it was a little lacking. Service was actually pretty decent and the server was friendly so that was a bright spot! I probably will never be back because Id take fresh food over corporate dinning any day. I suggest saving the money and trying a local restaurant any day! read more

I've been going here my entire life because I'm from Muncie. I don't think the service has ever been great. It's reaaaallly slow. There is almost always a wait for tables even if the restaurant is halfway full, and when you are seated, you have to wait awhile (usually 5-10 minutes) before anyone approaches your table. The wait time for the food is always extremely long as well. The food is tasty though! I'm just a big EFFICIENT service person, and this doesn't satisfy. read more

Me and my family ate here about 2 weeks ago. Me and my are not really wine people and definitely do not like the bitter wines. The waiter who helped us brought out a couple of samples for us, and even requested a couple that were a little sweeter. We enjoyed the glass of wine and we both had the tour of Italy as well, which was delicious. I suggest getting the alfredo dipping sauce to go with the endless breadsticks as well. I thought I would wait to review this restaurant to give them the benefit of the doubt. We normally love to eat here, but this Mother's Day was, well.... Since their dining room wasn't open yet, we decided to order Olive Garden takeout to celebrate Mother's Day for my wife and daughter. We placed a large online order and were given a 25 minute time to pick it up (about 1:15) My daughter and son in law arrived to pick it up about 1:10, waited. After a few minutes someone to come to their car, asked for the name on the order, and left. Two or three more times they gave the name, order number and other info on the order. After a 45 minute wait, at 2:00, I called the restaurant and talked to someone who asked my name, then said, "I think I saw that name on an order they are ready to take out". Our daughter and son in law brought the meal home (it was now 2:15). We sat down to eat and THE MEAL WAS COLD! Mother's Day ruined for my wife and daughter! The meal that was delayed for over 45 minutes? That means it sat there for quite a while! I called the restaurant at 2:20 and talked to the same lady, explained to her what had happened and that it was unacceptable that we wait that long and pay that much for a cold meal. She said she would get the manager, then returned to say one was not available and the manager would contact me and took my email. I'm still waiting over a week later...so much for customer service. Bottom line: if you like cold Italian food and poor service, this may be your restaurant. read more

The entry smelled like sour milk. I nearly bolted, because that means to me that cleanliness is an issue. My friend loves this place, so I sucked it up.
