An excellent, albeit expensive lunch option, Mancuso's has been on my downtown dining list since they opened. And because I work for a smaller bank, we had Friday off for Veteran's Day. It gave me the perfect excuse to head here with a friend who work in the Collier tower. We started with the fried calamari, which was perfectly cooked and the warmed marinara they served with it was also divine. I ordered the linguini and clams; Jason ordered the eggplant parmesan. I ordered the Spinach, Arugula and Quinoa Salad. It was extremely underwhelming. The toppings listed on the menu are goat cheese, figs, tomato, almonds, and a citrus balsamic. I'd say the salad is 98& spinach. The amount of toppings looks more like what would be leftover from a salad you ate earlier. I was expecting large creamy lumps of goat cheese but it was topped with very few and very small crumbles. The quinoa was tossed in with the leaves, I'd say there was probably 1/6th of a cup of quinoa. The almonds and figs were also lacking. The very few figs were shriveled up and the chopped almonds were also almost unnoticeable in the salad. Luckily I opted to add shrimp to the salad and the free bread was delicious. I do not recommend ordering this salad. The pasta dishes looked decent-but nothing special. read more

We arrived at precisely our reservation time of 6:15, yet were asked to stand in a small space by the restaurant door until our other party arrived. Never acceptable. Our waiter was prompt to take and deliver our drink orders, but seemed then to forget us. Fifteen minutes later, he walked by and seemed to suddenly remember our presence. After that, he was prompt. Went to this restaurant three times in one week. Service is excellent. Just like an old school Italian steakhouse should taste. I suggest the Duck, filet, or veal chop. My strip was not my favorite but decent quality. Escargot was probably the best I had in years. The location is not easily seen from the street but go up the escalator and you will find it. The filet was overcooked medium well to well done. The ribeye was cooked medium rare. Both filet mignon and ribeye steaks were flavorless and hard to chew thru. There was nothing tender about the steaks. Our party was surprised at the quality of the steaks for such a steep price. When we pay close to $50 for a ribeye, we expect it to have some good marbling. In comparison, Denny's steak and eggs were probably better. I'm not sure why the owner would proudly serve Certified Piedmontese steaks when most people on yelp left negative reviews about the steaks. Hopefully this review will change where they are sourcing their steaks as it would help boost their business. Can't call themselves a steakhouse if they are serving bad quality steaks. Lastly, no paying customers likes to receive rude/offensive service when giving constructive feedback that would help their business. Our male server was very nice and professional but the female owner was rude and offensive and she didn't like the negative feedback we were giving her. She snapped at us and took our plates away. We made reservations for our anniversary dinner. Overall, it was a great experience. I had the Sea Bass and it was cooked perfectly--it fell apart when I cut it with my fork. This place has a very nice atmosphere and has outdoor seating. We had a friendly greeting and attentive waiter. There was a group of 5 - the food ordered was gnocchi with veal meatballs in Alfredo sauce(light on sauce), cannoli - 1) marina & 1 Alfredo, lasagna and one of the specials - all the meals were tasty. We were pleased that Mancuso's turned out to be a good central meeting place on the 2nd floor of a downtown bank building (they stamp the underground parking for 2 hours). Our family party of 10 arrived for an early reservation prior to an airport run. We were the first customers of the day so it was a surprise that they were not ready for our 4pm reservation, and then further baffled at the negative and hardly welcoming attitude of the hostess. This woman was snippy with several in our party both in the beginning and as we were leaving, enough that we looked at each other and wondered "what the heck?" as clearly this gal was misplaced in a hostess role. Very impressed at the beauty alone of the restaurant. The food, tho, is in a class of its own. The stuffed mushrooms were everything. The complimentary garlic bread they serve fresh goes great to dip it in the extra cheese and Alfredo sauce left on the bottom of the container. The wine selection is exceptional, the food is great, and the staff is fully engaged to make sure you enjoy your experience. My organization had a reception at Mancuso's in November 2018 and it was a great party! The food was very good and the cocktails were delicious! The manager in charge in that day (Bon's sister) was a pleasure to work with. When we realized we had about twice as many guests as we had planned for she organized for more food to be cooked and served in a very timely manner. She really seemed to care about the well being of the guests and was very good at informing us about the current tab on the open bar. I like the ambiance of this place. It use to be another restaurant I liked that one too. But I went to Mancuso's for happy hour I ordered the meatballs and risotto. The meatballs had no texture to them they were bland and soggish (I know that's not a word) but the risotto was so delicious but he took it away when I re-ordered the lasagna. This Waiter came to say "we may give you guys a free Desert because the wait". Wow. This place blew my mind. From the second you walked in the door until the second we laughed we felt like family. Everyone was very friendly and clearly appreciated the business. We sat in the bar area which is comfortable but also very classy with the decor. I think this would be a perfect place for graduation dinner or a rehearsal dinner or maybe an event for business. We had the bruschetta and the stuffed mushrooms. The bruschetta was simple and fresh with just a drizzle of balsamic which was delicious. The mushrooms had a rich cheesy cream sauce with them and we're cooked perfectly. I had the Bolognese and it will definitely be about three meals worth of food. My friend got the beet salad with chicken and she said it was one of the best she had had. Another friend had the lasagna and it was about as big as his head and he loved it. And then another friend had the veal parmesan and she said it was delicious. this place is a little bit hidden but definitely worth it. Fantastic. Great atmosphere and amazing service. Food was delicious. Beautiful modern yet classic setting. We came right before closing and they welcomed us and took great care of us. Many times when you go to a restaurant before closing you can tell they are ready for you to leave and try to rush you out. Not here! The owner talked to us and shared how the recipes were from her mother. We ordered the layered eggplant and the veal meatballs, and they were amazing. We weren't looking for a big meal so it was nice they had smaller plates in addition to their entrees. I would go back in a heartbeat and highly recommend. The bar dining area is beautiful, the dining side is on the stuffier side but probably set for more of an intimate dining experience.
