Apple Valley 2025: Greeted warmly soon as I entered and service was super quick. Food was brought out promptly and served piping hot. Hunan Beef: Marked as spicy, but I felt it was mildly spicy. I'm sure they could leave out some of the heat if requested. Very flavorful and a generous portion at dinner time. Side order of Fried rice was mediocre as rice usually is. I plan to order steamed rice next time. I cruised through the lunch menu and it looked like a good deal to try other options for a reasonable price-$10 - $12.

Kung Pao Tofu is excellent. It's a combination of chewy tofu, bamboo shoots, peanuts, bell peppers and red chilis in a slightly spicy and sweet brown sauce. Paper Wrapped Chicken is small seasoned chunks in foil triangles. Tastes zippy with the mustard and sweet & sour sauce.

I'm so glad I found Mandarin Chef. The food tastes truly authentic and they have all the classic favorites you hope for. Everything was high quality, the portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for how good the food is. The flavors were amazing across the board. Service was also very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Lots of delicious options to choose from and definitely a local spot I'll be coming back to. read more

My kung pao chicken was tasteless, no spice at all. They show the hot pepper on the menu. There were dried peppers I tried one no heat at all. Great portions but not what had expected. Have had this dish many times elsewhere and it was always spicy. My husbands pork egg foo young was good also a large portion. Not sure I will go back. read more

I went here because I wanted to try the Peking Duck but as told, it has to be ordered 2 days advance. Unfortunately, we weren't able to try that. We ordered salt and pepper pork, hunnan beef and yangchow. It was good. Like, any other family style-chinese restaurant, I feel so welcomed and like grandma made my meal. Disappointed. Never been here before, wanted to try it. First walking it there was a distinct smell I can't describe and it wasn't food. Walked in not greeted. When noticed we wanted to place an order To go and the man said with an ugly face that they were to busy and couldn't place any more orders, mind you they close at 9pm, it was 6pm. I will never go there again. Don't recommend. There are way more better places in Apple Valley. I knew there was a reason I never walked in there before and they confirmed it. Service is key to a good restaurant and if you can't provide that then why even serve food! read more

Tried this place for the first time yesterday and we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered 3 lunch specials, orange chicken, sweet and sour shrimp and kung pao chicken, ALL delicious. We also added a regular order of Mongolian beef and beef chow mein. We definitely over ordered for our party of 3 but look forward to the leftovers for lunch. Service was exceptional, we were doing our Christmas and they even brought a cart out for us to place our gifts on and have move space to eat. They were attentive, brought extra napkins and refills before we could ask. Highly recommend. read more

The food is terrible. Small portions of generic Chinese food. No flavor, small portions. If you want real Chinese food go to House of Joy on Palmdale road. Steamed rice is free, egg rolls are excellent. Large portions and great flavors that aren't prepared ahead of time. Place was empty and only one person spoke English. read more

Very good Chinese restaurant. Don't let the outside appearance of the restaurant deter you, the food inside is actually good tasting. The weekday lunch combinations are the value added choice. There are many selections to choose on the menu and they come with soup, an egg roll, and cream cheese wonton. I selected the Kung Pao Chicken for my lunch. The chicken was only mildly spicy despite the numerous dried red chile pods. Nothing to burn your mouth out; great for the spice sensitive. The meal came with fried rice, a few crunchy pickled daikon radishes, and a slice of cantaloupe. All and all a good deal for a satisfying, filling lunch. Service is friendly, efficient, and not intrusive. Plenty of parking in the large shopping center lot. read more

First time I went, service was amazing. Food was great. We were the only customers and it appeared they wanted to go above and beyond. Man was very kind to us. Decided to go back a few weeks later and this time we were treated like peasants. Another couple who ordered way after us got their food first and it seemed the man only cared about pleasing their table. He gave us dirty looks and treated us like we were dumb. I had to beg him to get up to refill my drink after seeing him sitting down on his phone, but he had no issue laughing and striking up a conversation with the other customers. Very off putting experience and I'll probably never make my way back out there again. Good orange beef though. read more

Great American Chinese food. Weekday lunch special of Sweet & sour pork was exactly how I like it. Sweet and deep fried without too much breading just the right amount. Fried rice very tasty as well. Came with soup, egg roll, and cream cheese Rangoon. Orange slice and a small thin sliced veg in a tangy spicy clear topping dredge over top. Staff was friendly and attentive. I was not pleased at all with egg foo young except vegetables. Sauce was not what I expected at all! Pork chop suey ok except looked like chicken and bean sprout missing. kung pao chicken only peanuts sauce & chicken - no heat. Egg roll ok. Soup didn't even eat. if i could give more stars i would. service was good, food was fresh, fast and delicious. For one...very simply...I DON'T respect a business that doesn't CLAIM its YELP page! That tells me they don't care to improve their business or the experience of their customers. But my gripe today isnt about the noticable 91 buck take-out pricetag for 2, with a few leftovers as my wonderful husband NEVER checks prices...he just pays like a machine. Personally, I dont EVER expect to pay 91 bucks for Chinese period.....unless there is lots of alcohol involved, lol! Also the food was ok... decent and not so bad! No, my big problem on this planet Earth is with these wack ass FORTUNE COOKIES!! :( Normally a favorate little bonus at the end of my meal, and they usually have some really cool stuff to say! (Just think back! :) But NOT these "extra trendy" (or extra plain cheap) fortune cookies...these suck Balls! Also we received several of the same stupid sayings which just added insult to injury. Just listen to some of these...."You're just getting started" ???? And "DeFi reality" WTF kind of fortune is that!?!? Talk about lame and TOTALLY untraditional! Its certinly a sad day... fighting back the tears. The wise, brief yet thought provoking parables of a fortune cookie are long gone. Next I expect to crack one of these open and find a freaking Hashtag!!#, maybe a Youtube channel link or one telling me to "Buy a Toyota"! Talk abt decent food and a "heartless" cookie. Hi everyone! Trying another Chinese spot here for my orange chicken. Soo here is my verdict, its was a tad bit better, but seewt and not spicy... sure you see the peppers in the dish, but they have no bite to it. I was able to eat one and it was plain. As for the rice, this time it was not American, so that's a place. So now I realize not everyone knows how to make Orange peel chicken. I only found 1 place thus far and it was I Orang County (I guess its what I'm comparing to, and not finding it the same). Anywhoot, this is closest I found to original here in Victorville read more

We've driven pass this place one too many times. Tonight we stopped in with our family of six and were pleasantly surprised. From the beginning of dinner to opening our fortune cookies at the end, the food was excellent. The Imperial Dinner with the Imperial Trio was delicious and fresh. My son ended up ordering a second helping of the dumpling soup. My wife had the Chinese Chicken Salad. My oldest daughter had the beef and broccoli, and my oldest son had the Beef Chow Mein. The servings were generous and allowed us to share our food with each other and still have leftovers to take home. Our youngest just shared Beef Chow Mein since there was so much of it. You can tell from the foil wrapped chicken, the egg rolls, the decorative plating and everything else that a lot of care and detail goes into making their food. While the price point isn't cheap, the food was definitely worth it. On special occasions, we will be back and hope it stays as good as our first time tonight. Being served soda out of cans reminded me of the Chinese Food places I went to as a kid with my own parents. This place is delicious and has a huge menu of classic Chinese food choices. read more

This location has a great tasting Wonton Soup. Assembled to order, I don't think I have seen one…read morepacked with so much meat and vegetables. The wontons were small but the filling tasted good. The proteins in the soup consisted of chicken and shrimp. There was plenty of meat for sure. The veggies were broccoli, celery, carrots, baby corn, mushrooms, and bamboo shoots. The light broth had a good flavor as well. When I got this home, I found the container was 32 ounces filled to the brim. I added an avocado and lime juice to brighten the flavors but it was fine as is. It was one of the best valued wonton soups at under $10, considering the generous amount of ingredients in the soup. Highly recommended. I also ordered a Three Entree Combo meal. I had Orange Chicken, Mushroom Chicken, and BBQ Pork with sides of steamed rice and chow mein. The batter on the Orange Chicken was thick but it had a crispy crunch. Mushroom Chicken had mostly meat with just a few pieces of mushrooms and zucchini. I didn't want my date to feel bad for buying me such a horrible meal, so I managed to get a couple of bites down. He asked if I wanted a box. No, but I said yes, again not wanting him to feel bad. I tried the Orange Chicken again when I got home, using my paring knife, and it was still so bad that I threw the whole thing away. There were only 6-8 people in the place, but it was so noisy that I had to keep asking my date to repeat what he said because I couldn't hear him. We ordered a cream brûlée and it was the optimal choice for dessert. Wish it was hot inside but, that's just a dream. This place is a hidden gem. If you haven't tried good service and high end food you should give Chateau Chang a try. I give it 5 stars because the staff was sweet and nice. And the food is between good and great! This was our first time here but it most definitely won't be our last! The dining room is nicely decorated, with plenty of room around the tables that you don't feel overcrowded. The service is excellent and attentive. The food was excellently cooked, fresh and delicious! We had a party of 6 with 6 different choices. Of course, everyone had to try each selection, and no one was disappointed. Portions are large so it would be easy to share a meal and leave very satisfied. I recommend the House Pan Fried Noodle. It's put together at the table and is as good as it looks! I found the price to be excellent for the amount of food you're given. We went for dinner, but the lunch prices are just $5.95.
