Mandy's is one of my FAVORITE places in the county. We usually go here for breakfast but this time we went for a work lunch. This was my bosses first time at Mandy's and he really loved it and said he would be coming back. I got a club sandwich and fries, my boss got a Ruben Sandwich & Potato Salad. Everything was delicious! You cant go wrong with anything on the menu. The staff is always so friendly and attentive.

Four of us decided to eat here based on the high rankings! We weren't disappointed, everything was awesome. I got the Piled High and it was outstanding. The high ratings are well deserved. Great service and quality food, highly recommend.

Delicious and tasty. Lots of great items on their menu. Workers are very down to earth and hard working. There was a 20-30 minute wait. The French toast was super delicious also!

This is the first time I went there. Somehow on sunday, the line is so long. 1) Decor is cute for a small town restaurant. 2) Food is definitely very good 3) Food come out very fast, since I have been waiting for very very long time to get seated, seem that they seem to forget me. I saw people after me, already seated. Then my husband went and ask. They seated me finally after pretty long time. But then again sunday is very busy. That is ok. They said they will "make up to me" by trying to make the food faster. I was super super hungry, not feeling good.

One word: Amazing. From the attentive service, to the delicious and decadent food, everyone in our party was satisfied and happy. This breakfast place was a little far from where we were staying, but we wanted to explore the old town near Mandy's and stopped there for breakfast. We went around 9:30 in the morning and were seated instantly and at a booth like we wanted. I got the Hash Brown Heaven skillet and as a fan of hash browns, it was so good! It was very well served, and could be shared as it came with four pieces of toast, three eggs, and a bunch of bacon. The toast could have been also substituted by pancakes or biscuits, which was great. At our table, we also ordered Avocado Toast, an omelette, and a plate with eggs and bacon. The food was great all around and the restaurant took in substitutions very well. Also, the fruit that came with the plates, was, according to my mother, the best fruit she has ever had at a restaurant. This says a lot, as she always gets fruit! The restaurant itself was very cozy and the decor was very cute. It had a mix of decorative details from other time periods that added a nice touch. The service was so amazing. Our server were constantly refilling coffee, were very patient, and had smiles on their faces that made our breakfast relaxing and welcoming! I would come back any day for breakfast, and to try their lunch sandwiches!

We came here for breakfast while visiting our friends in Twain Hart. We arrived around 10:30am and were told that it would be a 15-20 minute wait for our party 5. We were seated in less than 5! We ordered the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Biscuit Diablo and the Kid's Pancake Breakfast. We also ordered the Hot Chocolate, Peach Iced Tea and coffee. Everything was so good! The Lemon Ricotta pancakes were subtle and fluffy, the Biscuit Diablo had the right amount of heat and smokiness from the chipotle peppers - my daughter loved her breakfast as well. Pancakes were the size of dinner plates! They had so many options that sounded amazing - I'm coming back for their Sour Cherry Pancakes! Staff were super friendly and attentive even though they were packed. The inside had that diner homey feel with plenty of seating and I can't wait to come back next time we're in the area!

I feel like great breakfast spots tend to have a few things in common. They're often off the beaten path with an unassuming exterior, a super cozy and inviting interior (often times with cheesy decor), and friendly staff that are buzzing around to keep everyone's coffee cups filled to the brim. And Mandy's has it all. My friends live in Sonora and while I was in town visiting, one morning we woke up hungover as can be and in dire need of classic breakfast food. Without question, they loaded us up in the car and said we're going to Mandy's. While it was a busy Sunday morning, it didn't take long for us to be seating in a booth tucked away in the back corner... honestly the best place to put us. I won't lie, we were looking pretty dishoveled. Our waitress was quick to take our drink orders as we browsed the menu, which didn't take long at all. I went with an omelet, with extra crispy hashbrowns, and a pancake on the side, with as much coffee as I could take. Our food came out quickly and not a single person at the table hesitated for even a second before diving in. My omelet was fluffy and cheesy and the green peppers inside were cooked just enough. My hash browns were indeed extra crispy and that alone was enough to put a smile on my face. And my pancake was exactly what I needed for "dessert" after my meal. I absolutely understand why this spot has over 450 reviews and a five star rating on Yelp. Everything from the service to the food and atmosphere were top notch. A solid breakfast joint like this isn't always easy to come by. Sonora is lucky to have them. Until next time my friends!

I thought this sign was cute.

I was just a little disappointed in this place - we had a very long wait even on a Monday mid-morning to be seated. Once we got seated the service was good. I'm not a big breakfast fan, but the food was good - not memorable. I might have enjoyed it more but it was pretty crowded & loud. My sister & I were here for her birthday but she wears hearing aids so it was hard to converse. Maybe we'll try again sometime when it's not so crowded. Looks like they have a great reputation.

WOW! We found this shop the night before, when arriving at the same shopping plaza to have dinner…read moreat Strings Italian(please see separate review). I looked up Bon Apetit - Crepes, Croissants & More on Yelp, saw a very good rating, but not too much information and only a few photos. Considering this business has been here more than 12 years, and boasted baked goods, I HAD to do my research and provide a bit more information. We came in after our breakfast at My Garden Cafe(please see separate review), so we weren't hungry but, again, research was the goal. The space itself was a bit surprising. Having occupied this space for so many years, I guess I expected it to look more like a restaurant or kitchen of some kind. It doesn't. The large interior space has a few small bistro style patio tables and chairs (even outdoor umbrellas!) and - I think - is meant to look as if patrons are dining al fresco in Paris, maybe??? But it reminded me more of a church or school bake sale. Folding tables with colorful tablecloths are pushed up along one wall and on them set large, food service grade, clear plastic bins with the baked good inside. Above each bin is a laminated color copy of the corresponding pastry affixed to the wall. Utensils, paper bags and tongs are available for customers to self serve their selections. A separate cart has a couple of industrial coffee carafes and paper cups for beverage self service, alongside a free standing water cooler. I asked if the pastries are made there and was told no. They are made fresh each morning by the owner, Bruno, and brought in in the bins and arranged, usually, under the display pictures to easily see what is in that day. So, while not conventional, this method obviously works, and has for OVER A DECADE. Unconventional bakery esthetics and sales methods aside, the products are what customers are repeatedly here for. AUTHENTIC, French pastries made from European butter, making them lighter than an angel's wings and tastier than the devil should allow. My husband was going to patiently wait while I chose my purchases, but I persuaded him to indulge in the last remaining buttery croissant as I added it to my bag of pain au chocolate. I'm such an arm twister.... CAUTION! Digression ahead: Recently, I had been excited about a different croissant purchase at a sandwich shop in Sunland-Tujunga, only to bite into something that was more like Pilsbury canned dough than a real buttery French croissant. I guess that unpleasant experience made me long for pastry vindication and Bon Apetit came through for the win! But even before my first bite, I asked Bruno what type of chocolate he used in the pain au chocolate. 'Today Belgian. I get Belgian if I cannot get French, because they are practically the same,' he replied in his lovely French accent. And I melted. FINALLY! I was getting AUTHENTIC pain au chocolate! I'm telling you, when you have had the real thing, an imitation French pastry, made with anything less than quality European butter and chocolate just won't satisfy. We enjoyed our lovely, delicious pastries a bit later, while visiting Bridalveil Fall in Yosemite. Briefly, I tried letting the pain au chocolate sit in the warmth of the sun's rays atop my dashboard, wishing I had a way to heat the pain au chocolate enough to soften the chocolate, but I just couldn't wait. I was still very happy and satisfied with the flaky, light buttery taste of the pastry and the wonderful flavor and texture of the chocolate inside. I am adding Bon Apetit - Crepes, Croissants & More to my "Cali Road-tripping" bookmarks and look forward to bringing my French pastry loving bestie with me for my return visit. Cheers! CC
