    Biscuits and gravy.

This place is cute and cozy, the service was nice even though I came in close to closing, the server was very helpful. The food was delicious. I had a veggie skillet with biscuits and gravy. The biscuits and gravy I have to say are some of the best ive had to be honest.

I usually get a little concerned when I see a very large menu. When there are that many options, it can sometimes mean nothing really stands out and how can a chef/cook get so many things right? In this case, I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the chile verde omelet, and it was very good. It was flavorful and clearly something they do well. My server was very sweet and welcoming, which always matters to me. After I was seated, I was left alone for some time. It wasn't a big deal as I wasn't in a rush. As I mentioned, everyone was very friendly. If you are traveling through Jamestown, this place is worth a stop. It has a genuine local vibe and it feels like a spot the community truly supports.

Amazing food!! Do not pass this place up. You'll be very pleased. Great atmosphere, great service and the food again, is so delicious and cooked with love. Hands down, give it a try and you'll find yourself coming back to try the rest of their menu.

3 1/2 stars. Group of us stopped here on way home from a weekend trip. They have an awesome menu with a great variety of breakfast/lunch offerings (see my menu photos). You'll definitely find something to satisfy your hunger here! The four of us all had breakfast plates and they were all solid, but nothing spectacular to warrant a higher rating. Portion sizes were average. An interesting option on many plates is the "senior size" that is smaller (and costs less) compared to the standard offering. The service was great. There was lots of patrons on a Sunday morning, so that is a good indication that this is probably one of the better places in the small town to grab a bite to eat.

While walking in it looked decent from the outside but once I observed further it came off more like a diner vibe, not a restaurant. Also I was disappointed when I tried to go to the bathroom and there was only one with 4 people not including the flies down the hallway. I decided to sit back down and use my hand sanitizer. The food was sub par I will say my garlic fries were a 10/10 I got the pesto chicken sandwich I thought they sort of skimmed me on the chicken. The chili did not say there would be huge chunks of onion with little to no meat and it being more of a soup. Also my mom said her sandwich was way too salty along with her potatoes so that was disappointing. All and all the service was marginal although our server was very sweet, we were not greeted for quite sometime when there were no more than two other tables seated inside when we were already ready to order and everything. I don't usually go out and dine in Jamestown but I did hear they had some other cool spots. I recommend checking those ones out vs this one unfortunately because it does have potential so hopefully the staff can work on that.

Why the four stars, we never saw our waitress again. But the food was delicious as always! They were busy for a Sunday morning!

    Is it dog friendly?

Yes, for the outdoor patio area, but I've also seen a dog inside the actual resteraunt, and for me that's a no-go, and quite gross. People need to learn to leave their dogs at home as some of us are severely allergic and already have to see them…

There were long lines after 7pm here and pretty much only one cashier taking orders. While ordering took some time, the food came out within 10-15 minutes, so not too bad. I went with their smashburger, which was decent but didn't have much flavor. I think it needs more salt though. It was the type of burger that will satisfy the craving but not something I'd be rushing back for again and again. I also got some chicken tenders and fries. Fries weren't fresh and low key soggy. The tenders were fine but leaned heavy into the breading vs the chicken. The sauces were solid though. I liked the bbq, buffalo, and honey mustard. For a family of 5, we were able to feed everyone for just under $100, which honestly is not terrible in 2026. The food does what it needs to do to provide some sustenance before or after some gambling in the casino.

However, I Visited on Mother's Day with my daughter and sister and had a completely different experience. I have a gluten allergy, one daughter has gluten sensitivity, and my other daughter has celiac disease. We informed our waitress that we needed gluten-free options and were told they were out of gluten-free buns but had gluten-free sourdough. After double-checking, the chef confirmed it was gluten-free. Something didn't seem right, so we asked to see the packaging. Wheat was listed as an ingredient. Thankfully, we caught the mistake before eating it. Unfortunately, when our food arrived, two of the gluten-free meals were still served with gluten-containing items, including a flour tortilla and the same bread we'd already identified as not gluten-free. The food itself was actually delicious, and I wish I could leave a more positive review based on that alone. However, for anyone with celiac disease, a gluten allergy, or a serious gluten sensitivity, accurate ingredient information is not optional--it's a health and safety issue. The repeated errors from both the kitchen and serving staff were extremely disappointing and left me with little confidence in their ability to safely accommodate gluten-free guests.

We had stopped by the highway, where the view of lush greenery and rolling hills was nice. I approve! It was nice to sit on the patio watching the passing cars, and the tarp above us provided pleasant shade from the sun. My daughter and I shared the Biscuits and Gravy with scrambled eggs and sausages. The homemade biscuits were buttery and flaky--absolutely delicious. My partner and her daughter shared either a skillet or an omelet; I don't quite remember since I didn't take a picture. Regardless, we were all satisfied with our meals and ready to continue our adventure. The service was friendly and efficient. I didn't even get to check out inside the restaurant. Was there an inside? A quick tip: you'll need a key to access the restrooms. I noticed several people walk over only to discover the door was locked, so I made sure to ask for the key. According to their website, this place has a fascinating history--it once served as a miner's supply store before becoming a hotel. We ended up sending it back to the kitchen, which was the first for me. The steak was cut so thick that it wasn't even medium rare in the center. It was completely raw. The meat also had a gray color that made it seem old or as if it had been defrosted too quickly. The caesar salad had a mountain amount of lettuce and lacked in taste. We also got the steak sandwich, which looked like just the steak frites but with a toast on the side lol. We also ended up sending it back and got a different thing. The one standout dish that we was the lobster mac n cheese, which was delicious. I've had disappointing food, but not to the point where I've had to send it back. To be fair, the staff mentioned that the chef had suffered a heart attack that day, so it's possible we visited on an unusually bad day. If that's the case, I hope the chef makes a full recovery. Still, based on our experience, the food did not live up to the many good ratings it has.

This was our fourth visit, and every single one has been a five-star experience. Our server, Dusty, was outstanding. This was the second time we've had him, and he remembered us from our previous visit--including what we ordered. That level of attention to detail and genuine hospitality is rare. He was friendly, professional, attentive without hovering, and truly helped make our anniversary dinner memorable. Dusty is one of the best servers we've had anywhere. The food was exceptional from start to finish. The medium-rare filet mignon was cooked perfectly and was one of the best steaks we've had. The garlic mashed potatoes were absolutely phenomenal, the loaded baked potato was excellent, and the Brussels sprouts were perfectly prepared. One of the most thoughtful touches came from the chef. Since we brought a bottle of our own wine, they served a bread basket with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and beautifully wrote a special anniversary message in the balsamic. It was a small detail that made the evening feel even more personal. To finish the night, we enjoyed dessert out on the terrace by the fire table overlooking the beautiful view. The tiramisu-style dessert was outstanding, and the "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate was another thoughtful touch that made the evening feel truly special. We also want to recognize Mary, the manager. She took the time to come by our table, introduce herself, and personally wish us a happy anniversary. It's obvious she's doing an outstanding job leading her team because every visit has been consistently excellent. We also appreciate The Perch's dress code. It helps create an upscale, classy atmosphere that makes dining there feel like a special occasion every time. If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience in Amador County, The Perch delivers. Outstanding food, impeccable service, thoughtful attention to detail, and an atmosphere that's hard to beat. Congratulations to Mary, Dusty, the chef, and the entire team. We'll absolutely be back for visit number five.
