Giving this one three stars as I've only been here once and while it wasn't the worst.. it certainly didn't blow my socks off. I got the banana flambé waffle. It wasn't bad, but surprisingly bland. It definitely tasted like banana that had been cooked in butter.. I guess I was hoping for some cinnamon, sugar, SOMETHING besides just butter. It was very busy inside, which made it extremely loud. One of the highlights of our trip! The food was delicious -- they have many omelets and skillets for breakfast, but the star of the show was their interesting choice of sweet breakfast items like banana flambé waffles, stuffed French toast, churro waffles, and fluffy pancakes. Everything was great. Further, their staff is extremely nice and attentive. Also extremely notable was their big selection of coloring books on shelves as you walk in where your children can choose anything they'd like to color. Really appreciate that consideration for kids. 5 stars isn't enough for this place. My boyfriend and I tried Mandy's for the first time today - it's a Saturday and we arrived shortly after 11am. It was busy but we were sat right away. Our server, Karl, was phenomenal. Friendly, fast, efficient - what more can you ask for? The place was clean and felt open (not crammed like a few spots we've eaten at). It felt lively inside which was a great vibe. The food - honestly, the best breakfast I've had. Ever. My boyfriend ordered a veggie breakfast burrito with fried mushrooms. Dude, those fried mushies are delicious! I ordered the 1/2 portion of chicken fried steak. I love how they offer a smaller portion since this dish is pretty heavy. I joined the clean plate club, which is something I normally don't do. We also shared the churro waffle and it was to die for. Not to be dramatic but it was *that* good. Amazing breakfast! The cafe is a little loud, but what would you expect with a full house and a line waiting at the door? I think that speaks for itself! Service was great, they regularly checked to see if we needed anything while attending to their other many guests- we never once felt swept under the rug. My only complaint was the coffee tasted a little burnt- but you can't win them all, and that was such a minor inconvenience since everything else was amazing! read more

My husband and I went to Mandy's for their shrimp cocktail. This is one of our favorite food items and we have tried almost every shrimp cocktail offered in this county. Without a doubt Mandy's offers the best!! Just mouth watering to look at and even better to dive into. It was served with crisp rounds very tasty. I have been here with my girlfriend probably about 6 times now, and every single time it is the best breakfast and dining experience I have ever had. The menu is decently sized, and the prices are affordable. The portions are large, the food is absolutely delicious and the staff is highly professional. We love all the servers, but our favorite is Karl. He is such a nice person and so helpful and attentive. He takes care of us BIG time. Came to Sonora as a midway stop to Yosemite. I was thoroughly surprised that a small town like this even had semi- decent food options. This review is based off of availability and comparability to other breakfast joints in the area. If you're from a large city like myself, the rating of a 5 star in the city compared to a small town is different. 1. On a busy day we were seated, greeted right away. Plenty of parking. 2. Ordered stuffed french toast with cream cheese & chilaquiles with chile verde. 3. Food was hot and came out timely. 4. I was genuinely surprised on how good the meal was. Food was decent, found juevos rancheros to be highly heart burn enducing. Coffee was standard drip coffee. The place stayed busy, had some cute local art. We found our bill to be quite high, over 100 with tip for 4 people. If you're in the area though it seems like one of the better places. read more

Customers who came in after us had their order taken first so of course they got their food first. Overall the food quality, customer service and presentation is a well deserved five stars. It is places like these, where the small details in presentation, friendly, smiling staff is what sets them apart from the rest. The colorful plates and the way they arrange the food just really adds to an enjoyable meal. The coffee was also excellent. Something that I consider a dying art amongst many businesses. A good brand of strong coffee always adds that extra mile to a good breakfast before hitting the road. Their hash browns are great, but you should also try their option of fried mushrooms. The staff has little turnover and is always very good about refilling your drink. The egg were done perfect, not too thick and the filling of spinach, tomato, mushrooms and feta was a perfect ratio. If you want pancakes, a short stack will fill you up. You have plenty of choices for sides with each dish. Now, there's one thing you need to do and that is, try a fresh biscuit with gravy. Get one to share if you dare. It's huge and delicious. The gravy was not overly thick and well flavored. The key here is, come hungry. You will not be disappointed because you have plenty to choose from. Love this place. Flew into the Columbia Airport and walked over to Mandy's for lunch. Had the Philly Cheese steak. (big enough to feed two people) And the Grilled Chicken Chipotle Sandwich. Both were excellent and served with your choice, of fries, soup, or salad. Recommended. Come hungry. read more
