Unbelievable! I really don't know where these people come from! I dropped off my puppy for his weekly bath and a flea dip, I got a call to let me know that he was ready. A few moments later, they called to tell me that after further examination, my dog still had a few fleas and they would give him another bath! No extra charge ! Angie, Taylor and Lee are so very special, you can tell it is not just a job, but a mission. For Christmass, my dog got free dog treats. The warm, loving and caring atmosphere is so pleasant that when my puppy and I leave, we both feel refreshed. The owners and staff call me if I forget my weekly apointment, let me know if there is anything going on with my dog and just are the most genuinely nicest people that I have ever met. The dogs are placed in hotel type rooms, with TV's! They are given a message and treated with love and care. All of the staff no Mr. Bobo Head (my puppy) by name and I can tell that they guinely care about him. I have so many great stories about this place, but you have to expereince it for yourself. PLEASE BEWARE IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET I had an absolutely horrible experience at this grooming salon. From the moment I arrived, things felt off. There was no one at the front, and eventually a man--not in uniform and looking nothing like an employee--walked in and took my dog. It made me extremely uncomfortable. I have a fluffy Maltipoo and I specifically asked for a light trim, nothing major. My appointment was at 11:30 AM, and by 3 PM I hadn't heard anything, so I called. The person on the phone referred to my dog as "the gray dog"--not even by name--and said he'd be ready in 30 minutes. When I finally picked up my dog, I was shocked. They had shaved him down almost completely--the total opposite of what I asked. I was charged $81 for a completely unacceptable groom. To make matters worse, once I got to the car I realized his nails hadn't even been cut. The same random guy said "my bad, I forgot" and took him back. When he returned, my dog's nails still looked untouched--he was scratching and cutting up my car seats. Once home, my dog was visibly depressed. Upon further inspection, I noticed a huge gash near his testicles. They had cut him badly, and I later found multiple small cuts all over him, likely from scissors or clippers. This led to a $500 emergency vet visit. This wasn't just a bad grooming job--this was neglect and animal cruelty. If you truly care about your pet, DO NOT bring them here. I just adopted my furry friend and had never taken a pet to be groomed so I wasn't sure of how the process went. I looked for local businesses to support in my area and found Mane & Minks. The customer service was great over the phone and in person, the receptionist was patient with me in answering all of my questions. My pup was in desperate need of a good bath, he smelled horrible and his breath stank . I treated him to the deluxe grooming package which included an oatmeal bath (they have other shampoos to choose from), an ear cleaning, hair cut, nail trimming, and teeth cleaning. When I picked him up he looked like a completely different pup, he was so happy! At first I wasn't sure how I wanted his coat cut but I left him in their hands and they took care of everything. When I saw the results I was in love . They did an awesome job, my pup looked too cute. He smelled great, his coat was soft and smooth so I left very happy. On my way out I bought some goodies for my pup that surprisingly didn't break the bank. I bought him a pair of tennis balls, a stuffed animal toy, and some cookies that are locally made! He usually doesn't like treats (weird I know) but he loved the pizza cookie and ate the entire thing in one sitting. All in all, my pup and I loved this place! We'll definitely be coming back! I am FURIOUS. Long story short they had my dog since 10 am and by 3:30 pm they hadn't even started his service. He was in a kennel for HOURS. When I hadn't gotten a call to pick him up I got worried so I tried to contact them. 3 missed calls later I decided to just go see what was going on. And they had not even touched him. Just picked him up for 5 hours. No water no walking no stretching just basically forgot he even existed. Had I not gone up there who knows when I would've gotten him back. If only a half star was available. I have been bringing Peyton to this establishment since April of 2020, the service has not always been great but this was the last straw for me. I brought my dog to get groomed on Jan 16, and requested her to be cut as instructed, Several hours later (11am-3pm) I picked up Peyton and I requested a little cut to be cut from her head to hair to cut off, after waiting 20 min we left. After returning home and playing with Peyton I noticed she was not cut appropriately, I requested a "sanitary trim" and that was not done. I called on Monday morning (Jan-17) and voiced my concerns with the owners daughter, she then informed me to that they're closing earlier due to the holiday, and requested for me to come in Tuesday Jan 18, anytime at no charge. As instructed, I brought Peyton in, suddenly the owners daughter forgot our entire conversation. After gladly reminding her of the convo, she goes to tell me that two groomers were diagnosed with Covid-19, and they are currently short handed and that I needed to bring Peyton back another time. I was taken back because I paid for service and did not get what I paid for. She then tries to deter the situation by stating (when I picked Peyton up, I stated everything was fine). I'm guessing she expected me to do a full inspection on my dog before I left the premises. I then advised her that I am paying for a service and I expect for peyton to be cut as instructed and not have to double check that the services were completed. Candidly, its an inconvenience as a paying customer to have to deal with this! I have tried to support this minority owned business but the customer service is horrible; and there was no apologize, again she basically advised me that it was my fault that my dog was cut incorrectly; and I will have to come back another time. I have not taken my pup for a cut in a bit because of the pandemic and we are wanting to grow her hair longer because she is a Yorkie. The owners are so nice. I use to love taking my Yorkie here simply because I wanted to support a black business. But the grooming is a hit or mess. The first time I took my dog here August 2020 the service was great, my dog came home smelling fresh with a bandana. Rickey use to do a great job not sure if he is still there. However, the service is declining for the price the last four out of six times I've brought him their always "out of bandanas" when my dog gets a morning appointments. I paid for a deluxe grooming and my dog came home with eye gunk still on his face. That I easily was able to remove after my bf brought him home. Pretty sure also they didn't brush his teeth. I got my dog groomed last week and paid for a nail trim, sanitation trim/shave and deshed in addition to the bath because I have a thick, long coat dog. It took 4.5 hours for him to be ready and he was still wet and his coat was not brushed out at all. I had to brush out a lot of tangling when I got him home. When I noticed his nails weren't trimmed, he still had the same amount of fur around his anal glands and under his stomach(sanitation trim), and I got about 5 handfuls of fur after brushing him myself and that was just to get tangles out...I emailed and called Mane and Mink. I left a voicemail as well. I sent a follow up email and have yet to receive a response to rectify the situation. I asked to be refunded for the services that were not done and emailed them pictures to show proof. I'm all for supporting Black business but I expect services to be done to completion just as any other type of business. This was a very disappointing experience. I don't mind paying top dollar for good work. This was just bad. And the customer service, or lack thereof afterwards, was disappointing. My dogs were only to be bathed and sanitary areas cleaned and trimmed .THEY are shaved and look crazy ! I live and work in the area so I decided to give this place a try for my 3 Bichon Frise' When I called to ask a few questions Taylor was very patient and kind. She was also flexible when I needed to adjust my drop off time due to work meetings. My 3 dogs are older with special needs (blind and arthritic) so I am very picky about who I let care for my dogs. I can always tell when the grooming experience has been unpleasant because I pick up anxious and fearful dogs after grooming. My dogs seemed to be fine after visiting Minks and Mane. My two boys looked very cute and were groomed as requested. Apparently my little girl was matted and required some dematting. The groomer called to explain and I gave permission to shave her face. Ricky the groomer offered to fix her misshapen head hair for no extra charge. He was very friendly and eager to make me happy which I appreciated very much even though I declined and fixed it myself. I would definitely recommend this place for grooming and boarding. I thought the customer service was good and most importantly my dogs were not stressed out afterwards. On July 6, my husband went into Mane & Mink with a scheduled appointment for Domino. When he got there he was handed over to the manager with specific instructions that we didn't want the cut of a poodle. We always kept him full with a round face like former President Obama's dog Bo. When he went to pick Domino up we got the cut of a poodle and legs of a Chihuahua. The young lady worker that brought Domino out apologize for the cut that she gave our dog. When she brought him out my husband was very upset and he knew that I would be definitely. I called Mane & Mink to speak with the manager and identified myself as the owner of Domino, then I was put immediately on hold. I told her that I was very upset about the cut my dog got, but she said my husband told her to cut him down for the summer. Now mind you we have been taking our dog to them for about two years now. So I would think at this point that they should have a profile set up for our dog. This is not the first time they have messed up on the cut, but this was the worst, because they should know what we like by now. The manager also told me that she was the one who did the cut, when another worker brought him out apologizing to my husband. I felt that the should've taken accountability for the work by giving me a refund, but I was immediately told no because she has to pay her workers. So if you want consistency and a groomer that takes pride and assumes responsibility then you don't want to take your pet there. I believe in supporting our Black business but this is UNACCEPTABLE.
