Pleasantly surprised to stumble upon this Turkish cuisine after leaving the St Petersburg airport. I had the chicken kabob, which came with some rice, salad and fresh bread. Added some feta for the salad and I thought I was back at The Moonlight Cafe in Adana during my Incirlik AB assignment. It was excellent! My wife had the Chicken Gyro plate and she was equally pleased. It reminded me of the chicken shawarma flavorful meat. We will definitely be back when we are back in town! This place is really good. Nice outdoor dining space, which is where we sat. Service was great. All items were explained in detail, along with some personal recommendations. The drink menu is pretty limited but enough selection to find something to enjoy. I had a glass of the Pinot Grigio and it was fresh and tasty. I ordered the chicken shish. It was very good. I thought maybe a tad high in price for a chicken lunch ($25) but the flavor of the chicken was great. I also really liked the lightness and freshness of the side salad - very nice. The rice was ok but definitely could have used more seasoning. I just poured my tzatziki on it and it was much improved. My friend ordered the cold appetizer sampler and liked everything on there. Had a very nice lunch here & took an entree home for Sir Hubbers to try. He LOVES authentic Turkish/Armenian. Moi loves the authentic Spicy Ezme. YUM YUM YUM YUM bring me lamb/fish kabobs with spicy Ezme. And they do make a fabulous ground lamb kabob. I ordered the dinner entree that comes with two kabobs so we could share. I also ordered the Sea bass filet dinner entree. It comes with two pieces of filet so we could share it as well $30. I took half of both home to Sir Hubbers & he actually did a happy Turkish dance while eating it. hahaha.. I have never seen him do that before! He was so excited to have some authentic Turkish cuisine. The Sea bass dinner is so delicious! We both LOVED it with the spicy Ezme. The owner told me they make everything from scratch, even all the desserts. We both LOVE the way she does the side salad & rice. She chops all the onions, carrots, cabbage etc., she puts all kinds of yummy crunchy things in her side salad. Lots of textures. And, they put the orzo in their rice. Been missing Turkish food since my trip a few years ago so was happy to try the Mangal. It did not disappoint! My favorite items are the yogurt chicken shish kebab which comes with a fresh salad and rice, the stuffed grape leaves and the lavash bread -which if fluffy, fresh and delicious! I have done take out and eaten there - either way the food is perfect! And they give you a big size portion - so good for leftovers or for sampling a few things with friends. Even better than the food is the service - you feel like you are eating at a friend's house! I appreciate the beautiful decor inside and out. Went back to Mangal again today. 4th times? We ordered something different this time: mix grill for 4. It is so much delicious food. We stuffed ourselves and still had leftovers. This time ordered dessert with Turkish coffee at the end. Honestly, I am not an espresso kind of person and also I am not keen on sweet. But oh, my goodness, the Kunefe is out of this world. It is warm, it is crunchy, it is cheesy, it is a hint of sweetness. With the Turkish coffee (better than all the espresso i have tired in Italy, France...), what a finish of a wonderful meal. The service, as usual, very welcoming , very pleasant and very helpful. The ambiance, this time we sat inside, clean, bright and quite. We had a wonderful time. We will be back soon. read more

Not really tucked in spot, but the rest of business in the same plaza is quite dead. It is next door to Circle K. It used to a be a Cuban restaurant from my memory. They really did a nice job decorating and setting up the outside dining area. Lunch portion is very reasonable, my beef kabob platter was $15, given today's economy - that is now the new normal price for a mom and pop lunch. It is very tasty and fulfilling, not too heavy or light feeling in the belly. I highly recommend giving them a chance! read more

This was the best Turkish food I have since I lived in Turkey for 2 years 25 years ago. The Owner is the chef and his wife waited on me. Super friendly and so nice. Found this charming new restaurant while heading down 49th to Pinellas Park. Had the Hummus appetizer and Lamb Kofte meat plate. The Hummus was outstanding with chargrilled pita bread. Rich with little pickles and spices to really bring out the flavors. The Lamb Koftes were great as well a huge portion with rice, pickled red onions, and a little salad as well. Today was the first time I tried Mangal and it did not disappoint! I have been on the hunt for an authentic Turkish restaurant specifically selling Turkish coffee and I found it all here. I ordered the lamb shish, cold hummus, and a Turkish coffee. If you have never had a Turkish coffee I highly recommend, adding a little sugar with is my favorite. The service was amazing the staff a friendly and helpful explaining different items. This is a newly renovated restaurant and it shows with the bright interior and great music, they also offer good outdoor seating on a decorated patio. I'll preface this review with the fact that this is my third time eating here--two times in the evening prior with a very nice waiter. The food was phenomenal both times, which is why I decided to bring a group for my birthday. The one star is that the food was still solid and fresh. The lack of other stars is due to the server--who apparently is one of the owners, trying her hardest to not even do the bare minimum. It was very surprising as the restaurant was empty so it was not as though she was stretched thin. There were two sets of couples at other tables and she regularly went over to check on them. She wouldn't even LOOK at the table and had a serious attitude problem. She truly ignored us for two hours straight, and then when we would give up and walk up to the bar, she would act annoyed at having to help us. There was one point where someone had to reach over the bar for a napkin because it took thirty minutes. Another time we sat for an hour without a water refill. It made the entire meal weird, and I would expect a business owner of a new business to take pride in their work and at the very least ACKNOWLEDGE people who are trying their best to give you their money. In short--don't do group meals here. They do not want you to eat at their restaurant. read more

Went to this newly opened turkish restaurant nearby for Mother's day and I can say this is the most authentic turkish meal I had in Florida.
