    Chocolate chip cannoli
    Carol A.

I stopped in while I was in town for a dentist appointment. I have to say it's still the best cannoli in town! I also got some rainbow cookies which everyone enjoyed! It was a little pricy, but well worth it! It also made me crave their cannoli cake, which I might have to pick up for my next occasion. Service as always was spectacular. Everyone was super nice and helpful! I will be back!

Most recent cake order. Italian fruit cake filled with strawberries and peaches.

This is by far my favorite bakery local to Hartford county. The service is always impeccable with friendly and attentive staff. My family usually orders a cake for our holiday parties and family parties from here between Italian Fruit Cake, Canoli Cake, Chocolate Mousse Cake, and Carrot Cake. All are classically beautifully designed, and just the perfect amount of sweetness! I also prefer the cookies here as well, but my personal favorite item here is a Pistachio Ricotta cheesecake!

My stopped in last Tuesday and purchased 2 cannolis and a mini lemon meringue pie. The shell on the cannolis was crisp and light. The ricotta filling was delicious. The lemon meringue pie was nothing special.

Outstanding service, outrageously delicious cakes! My wedding cake was beautiful and so tasty! Highly recommend the chocolate mousse!

I called at 3pm on Saturday requesting a cake last minute for my sister in law's birthday. They said they could have it done by 4:30 pm.

Italian Fruit Cake with strawberries and peaches inside, whipped cream topping :)

Inedible German chocolate cake- huge amount of way too sweet frosting on and in a too sweet cake. We ended up tossing most of it.

Great cannolis! We travel far for these since the Italian bakeries in my area aren't so great. Their Italian cookies are also very good.

Amazing cakes, especially the PISTACHIO! They did the cakes for our wedding. Large variety of cookies. Inexpensive but very tasty.

In Italy, the word is "Nonnie" which just happens to be the name of an amazing Italian bakery we visited today. To be honest, calling Nonni's a "bakery" really shortchanges Grandma, because it is SO much more than that. Yes, of course they sell an incredible variety of beautifully crafted cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and cannolis, but you can also buy breakfast sandwiches, pizza, stromboli, arancino, stuffed breads, grinders, chicken cutlets and more. Their store is awesome, and you'll find yourself staring at their showcases and refrigerated cases. Service is top notch, with plenty of helpful and smiling folks helping you. We picked up an eclectic group of odds and ends - croissants, donuts, danishes, and a big arancini stuffed with meat and vegetables. We attacked that first as an appetizer with dinner, and it was terrific. I can't wait to sample the rest of their wares. PRO TIP Their Italian cookies look amazing, and we will definitely be back to supply our Thanksgiving dessert table with their Rainbow and Birthday Cake cookie cubes.

Good donuts, needs tlc…read more I've been to this place before, and I appreciated the location despite it being an event. So being in the area, decided to come here and pick up some donuts for the ride home. We got here late in the day, and they were out of almost everything when I got there. I managed to get a churro and matcha donut. I then saw they did a Dubai chocolate strawberry cup, and had to give that a try as well ( they only do the cup on the weekends) The donuts were very fresh, light and chewy. They are high in price but much better in quality compared to other places I've tried. The Dubai strawberry cup had a kind of weak chocolate sauce over them. Not the cheapest stuff on the market, but not strong or mellow like the expensive chocolates. The strawberries were fresh, and the Dubai part needed a little salt to counteract the sweet and enhance the earthy. Inside is well decorated but dirty. All the tables were dirty, there's lots of dust and other ditritus when I was waiting for my dessert. It was end of day, so I get why they would not be fully clean. But there's some repairs that need to get done and there's cracks in the facade. Despite the lack of donuts, the quality was good and the Dubai strawberries were a nice sweet treat. This is a good place to get some interesting food items or sweet treats. Not a trek worthy spot, but good if you're around

Once it was our turn to order we were devastated to find out that they were out of the K-dog batter and could no longer make any so we decided to get extra sweets instead. Overall the deserts were absolutely delicious especially the mochi donuts I would recommend the ones that we tried but of course I'm sure the others taste delicious as well. Our least favorite was probably the crepe cake but that doesn't mean it wasn't also good me and my friend just thought the batter could use a little more flavor. My friend bought the coconut cake and when she first tried it she didn't like it all that much but she said that once she put it in the fridge the texture and flavor of the cake was much better and rated it an 8/10. Aside from the pastries I ordered a mango fruit tea with passion fruit popping boba and I was a bit underwhelmed. The flavor of the fruit tea is lacking a bit but I feel my taste buds were a bit altered after so many sweet treats. I will definitely be back again to give the boba another shot and finally get my hands on those k-dogs!

I was looking for a stunning and delicious cake for my mom's 80th birthday, and I was absolutely delighted with the result. From the moment I walked into the shop, I knew I was in the right place. Lori greeted me warmly and generously took the time to talk through exactly what I was hoping for. It was such a refreshing change from the usual "hurry up" and "good enough" experience I often encounter when searching for something that matters deeply to me, even if it may not seem as significant to the person helping. Lori was attentive to every detail in the most efficient way. She guided me through decisions without ever being pushy, offered recommendations that were perfectly suited to my needs, and ultimately created one of the most beautiful - and most delicious - cakes I've ever had. She also packaged it carefully for the three-hour drive to New Jersey and thoughtfully accounted for potential January weather complications ahead of the party. My mother was truly blown away by the piano keyboard and hydrangea flower decorations, and our guests raved about the chocolate raspberry buttercream cake, as well as the salted caramel and vanilla cupcakes. Thank you, Lori, for an exceptional bakery experience at every level.

I walked in and from first glance, you can tell it is a staple type establishment for those within the community of Plainville. A spot that folks love to hit up in the mornings and for lunch to get their day started and to keep it going. I always can appreciate a good home-style vibe. Jim's had a few patrons inside, all having conversations with the ladies behind the counter that were making food and then the gentleman at the register as well. I will say that when I walked up to the counter, one lady looked at me as if I had a third eye, scoffed and walked away but I didn't think much of it for she may have been having a bad morning....moments later the other Woman said, "What do you want?" in a questionable tone but again, I digress for they both looked flustered. I placed an order and simply walked to the register and proceeded to grab a few more items for my review. I started off with the Pastrami Reuben on hardroll. The roll was toasted for that crispy factor and the pastrami itself, was good. You really can't go wrong when the cut on the pastrami is just right and it has a nice cut about it. The sauerkraut was ok, nothing major to write home about to be honest and it had a nice savory sauce with some Swiss cheese that. complemented the sandwich. Moving along to their macaroni salad! The mayo was tangy, and the red onions drew in the flavor profile rather nicely. It was seasoned with pepper as well and with the macaroni cooked to near perfection, you couldn't go wrong here. Now their Bacon, Egg and cheese on a hard roll left much to be desired. More BREAD than egg and bacon....You could barely see it from the side, let alone taste anything. I was sadly disappointed in their excuse for a breakfast sandwich. It lacked style, ingredients and flavor. This brings us over to their Apple Crisp! Fresh apples, cinnamon and granola goodness that made up for the horrible breakfast sandwich. Each bite of the crisp sent harps my way to play me a melody of tasty treats. Not too bad but between their. questionable customer service and my breakfast sandwich, I can only give Jim's an overall score of 3.5.
