We love Mangiamo's! It's a sports and wine bar all-in-one; both classy(yet casual) and fun for eating in! They have live acoustic guitar music on Fridays and although we most often pick up or have delivery, sometimes we eat there just for the experience. 1. The pizza is very tasty, the dough is made fresh daily and they have ingredients you can't find at a lot of other places. 2. They sell by the slice which is wonderful if you don't want a whole pie, or disagree on what to get; especially good for eating there. They always have new and interesting combos to try. 3. They have 3 crust styles: New York-thin and crispy, Sicilian-thick and crispy(and square) and whole wheat-thin and crispy. 4. They have regular coupons and specials if you're disgruntled about paying a non-chain store price for gourmet pizza. 5. They deliver to Aptos! Yay! I stumbled across this place accidentally. Atmosphere is cozy. Wine list is weak, considering they call themselves a wine bar. On a scale of 1 to 10, the service was a 5. Nice kid, but somewhat clueless. The salad was not very creatively done and rather bland. The pizza was pretty good. Plenty of toppings, but I'd recommend a little more sauce. I used to order from here at least 3 times a month. My girlfriend and i that is. Well on the 15th of may 2010. we ordered a pizza . A "white pizza" for about $25.00 at 8pm sat night. we asked for ricotta,mozzarella and spinach. we had it delivered in which it came in a timely manner but they put tomato sauce on. I called and someone named "greg"or "gary" answered and told me that there was nothing he could do because he was closing and the ovens were being turned off. He also had the nerve to say that it was my girlfriends fault for ordering that pizza to begin with. HOW OUTRAGEOUS IS THAT!!!!!! I cannot express how disappointed I am with Mangiamo's. Their food is fine, but their service has been below one star in my opinion. The second to last time I ordered from them, they refused to honor a coupon I had (no expiration anywhere on the coupon) because their new special was for less of a discount. They also messed the order up (again). I accepted it because I had guests and we needed food. I decided to give them a yet another chance because I can be fair. Their food is tasty - it's just nicer to eat what you actually ordered. An hour and a half after I ordered my pizza, I finally called the restaurant to check on its status. This time, they blatantly lied to me and said the delivery driver rang my door bell, called my phone, and waited for ten minutes at my door. This did not happen. Everyone knows that cell phones show a record of all calls received. No such call. I spoke to the manager who assured me that his driver did everything right. No apologies, no offer of a free pizza. Went to this place with my two daughters last night at 7:25 thinking we'd eat a slice or two of their pizza. The place looked like it was already closed with only 2 patrons at tables. Asked the guy as we were walking in the door if they were closed and he says "we close at 8". So we pull up a seat and hear the guy behind the counter, after he glances over at us, exclaim loudly to his manager or co-worker (I have no idea which), "I'm leaving at 8!" Do not purchase a gift card from this establishment! My daughter gave us a gift card from Mangiamo's and they will not honor their own card!! At first the guy at the counter claimed to have never seen one and did not know how to apply it to a purchase! When asked for the manager or owner he said he was out of town and did not know when he would return!! Wanted to order two small pizzas: one half cheese and half sausage, the other all veggie. Told on the phone they don't do that. Instead ordered a small all cheese and a medium half vegetable and half sausage. When I picked them up I asked why they wouldn't split the small. The woman in charge told me "they generally don't do that". I asked why not. She repeated her answer, which of course, is the policy, not a reason. I opened the small pizza box and asked why they couldn't just sprinkle a little sausage on one half. She again said they "generally don't do that", dismissed me with a curt "have a nice day", and turned her back on me. I assure you that I was very polite in my dealings with her. By the way, the two men working there were very helpful and pleasant. The pizza, which is very expensive ($42 for the two mentioned above), is average at best with barely enough vegetables on the veggie to cover the pizza. Stopped here on vacation; it was getting late and we were hungry, got lucky and found this pizza spot. We got our pizza to go, but it was so good that we felt compelled to Yelp about it and share with others. While some may consider it a bit pricey, it was worth it. The crust was amazing, and the balance of ingredients to the size of the pie was excellent. It was one of the better pizza's we've ever had. Went in for a few slices to go. Hadn't tried the place since around the time they opened. They had quite a nice array of different pizza slices to choose from after lunch time on a Thursday. I chose 2 California Chicken thin crust slices and 2 BBQ Chicken thick crust slices to go. I felt that the slices were too small for the price. The first one I tasted was the California Chicken. It was dripping and extremely messy. It tasted mostly like a stick of butter with a little bit of carmelized onion flavor and a few very small bites of chicken. Pretty disappointing. The BBQ Chicken slice was much better although it also had a few very small bites of chicken. They use a lot of mozzarella and provolone cheeses on these pizzas. Checked out their to go menu and they have some very interesting combinations and many that are vegetarian. I would like to try some of their other pizzas to give them more of a chance. read more

We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here and it was AMAZING! We wanted something sort of casual, but also fun and special. We met with the owner, and rented out the entire place. We had salads, appetizers, bottles of wine, pitchers of beer, and tons of pizza. Not to mention live music, an outside place for our children to run around, and a place for our families to unwind the night before the wedding. We have some friends who had JUST GOTTEN BACK from Italy, and they proclaimed Mangiamos Pizza to be the MOST LIKE AUTHENTIC Italian Pizza that they have had back in America. Super yummy!! Be ready to repeat your order several times from a manager on duty who claims to be confused, receive wrong orders, and then be treaty rudely when you wish to work something out; let's say get the correct order the second time around or get partially refunded without being accused of acting badly. Mangiamo's is easily the BEST gourmet pizza in Santa Cruz. My family is officially hooked on the BBQ Chicken Pizza and the Pesto. The kids love the cheese pizza, which by itself is better than other pizza places in town. The atmosphere is great with music on the weekends and a magician for the kids at times. This is a great place for a casual dinner or for hosting an elegant event (rehearsal dinner, client party, etc.). We loved it so much we hosted a 60 person party there and both locals and out-of-towners said the gourmet-style pizzas were fantastic and WAY above expectations and were craving more. I can't say enough about this place and it's right here in Aptos, it belongs in Little Italy. Wine bar is excellent with excellent wines and most glasses just $8. The place is always clean and well decorated with unique mirrors. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. An A+ pizza and wine bar. My family and I will continue to return. read more
