Hands down BEST cheese pizza in Aptos or Santa Cruz. Im sorry but im not a fan of pizza my heart or pleasure pizza, lame dough and poor ratio! I get Mangiamos delivered, a large is about $24, so same price as the other two but sooooo much better! Amazing dough and good sauce to cheese ratio. The only downside is sometimes delivery can take upwards of 45min. I have never been in the place its self, but they must be packed! Ill be ordering again, and maybe stop in! read more

I had a large mangiameat and it was cooked to perfection the pizza was Amazing! On top of that the staff was very kind and helpful they also know the true meaning of customer service. Overall my experience was great so I'll definitely be back for more pizza next time I'm in aptos. read more

Being from NY it is hard to find good pizza. The pizza we had tonight was the worst. The crust was burned and the flavor was terrible. Don't eat here. Cali just doesn't know how to make a pizza. $37.00 for a large burned pizza w/ sausage & pepperoni and a Caesar salad was a rip-off. read more

Very frustrating. I was very excited to try this pizza and received a coupon in the mail reminding this place existed and BONUS they deliver!! So we called. A lady answered and we said we would like to place an order for delivery.. Wait for it..she hung up on us!! It could have been an accident so we called back..went to voicemail...waited. Called again. Voicemail!! For 30 minutes. We gave up, clearly before that-- just wanted to voice our frustration but wasn't able to do that. I'm local and happy to spend money on good pizza, ordered 3 pizzas from them. All arrived on time, however when I opened them I realized that the pizzas were all burned. And when I called to complain the girl who answered the phone didn't seem to care. Keep looking unless you like your pies extra blackened. read more

Last night I went in to pick up two pizzas for my kids and their friends who were here visiting. My husband and I LOVE pizza and have been big fans of a few other places in the area but thought we'd give Mangiamo's a try (we walked in a couple of weeks ago and walked out as no one greated us for several minutes even though we were the only ones standing there). Anyhow, we rated the pizza as the worst we have ever had - the Sicilian was not thick at all and had very little anything on it AND was small for an 18 inch. The plain cheese also had very little sauce and the cheese was tasteless. Also, the cost of the special pizza and a cheese was $50 (no drinks or sides) which was just too expensive. We don't mind paying if the pizza is good, but that was not the case here. If you know me, then you know, I know Pizza. I walked into Mangiamo's today on a random. It's started with a pizza and ended with a new family!!! Hands down one of the best pizza spots in Santa Cruz. I walked in and felt at home, enjoyed a slice and a beer, then had a 3 hour conversation with the family there and realized I was at home!!!!! Great pizza but even better people. Great neighborhood little pizza joint, from the many pizza unique pizza combos to the wine selection you can't go wrong. We are a fan of the twosome dinner special which is Bruschetta appetizer which they cut the tomatoes and make fresh when you order, a 14 inch pizza or 2 calzones plus a bottle of wine all for $35 add the live music on Fridays and it makes for a great date night! read more

Name a better pizza in Aptos if you can. I can't. We have eaten over 50 pizzas from here. Dine in and delivery. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the price. This is a long over do review. I had a coupon for 2 pizzas for $22. Got them for a poker game I had. 2 combos. I have to say one of the WORST pizzas I've had. The people who like this pizza need to try more pizza. They were really thin and actually tasted a little bit like cardboard. I don't like giving bad reviews to local businesses but when you have a great pizza place like Aptos Pizza just a few miles away, its a no brainer. Holy cow! I'm deducting two stars based on price alone. I ordered a medium pizza and a small salad and it cost me over $40! Slightly ridiculous if you ask me. Even though it's a pretty tasty pie, I don't think it's worth the price. Plus there's no real place to dine in. Oh, and one more thing... Way too expensive. $30 for a medium pizza and draft beer? Another five for the tip. My waiter was attentive. Sauce put on too thickly and with way too many chili flakes. Let me add my own, please. There was a little container of it on the table. Got the Margherita and it had very little mozzarella on it. I said the sauce was too spicy and he said they could add some sugar and water next time. Last time I ate there, the sauce was very sweet. Won't go back for the food but there was a singer guitarist there, George Christos, who was absolutely amazing. Most expensive pizza in Santa Cruz County definitely NOT the best. $27 for a medium pizza ($30 with tip) comes out to $3.75 a slice for pizza that is mediocre at best. Toppings were scant. Sauce nearly non-existent. We won't be going back. read more

What a hidden treasure! In a land of 10,000 pizza joints, this place really stands out. The pizzas are original, scrumptious, and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly, helpful, and really appear to enjoy what they are doing. Our family tried this restaurant on a whim, having received a coupon from a friend. I am a sick man. No, not in that way, I just haven't been feeling good the last few days. Haven't felt like shopping for food, haven't felt like cooking. Hence, I decided to stop by here for lunch today. Nothing sounded good for lunch but when I saw the cheese pizza looking up at me all warm and doughy and puffy and just glowing with sizzling expectation, I couldn't resist. Dude at the counter was super cool, gave me a student discount, some ranch, and a smile. My first bite was simply scrumptious. Ordered a combo calzone and salad for delivery.. when it showed up it was a lot smaller then one would have thought a $13 calzone would be. It wouldnt be a personal size in some places i have gone before. I also am alergic to tomatoes and asked for White sauce on the side, it showed up with red sauce. We also ordered a Greek Salad. It also is way too small to pay over $6 for. The customer service is horrible. I called them for a pizza order. Someone picked up, said something in a hurry, and I was on hold for about 5 minutes, after which someone picked up the phone, said "Hello" and disconnected it right away. I called back to order and the guy said "we are not taking any more orders and I thought I made that very clear to you in the earlier call". I replied "I could't hear anything..." at which point the guy cut me off, said "we are backed up" and then hung up the phone, clearly slamming the phone down at his end. I called up to ask how far out they deliver. Rene didn't know and passed me off to one of the drivers. He said they deliver as far as Buena Vista. I said we live just past that (Zils Rd. about 200 ft) and asked if they could come out. He then explained that Buena vista was stretching it for them and they would not deliver. It's a bummer for us because we haven't tried this restauant before. As someone who spent a great deal of her life working in the restaurant business and considering the economy I am disappointed that they would not make an exception. I stopped here with a friend from Aptos for a snack before dinner. The pizza was delicious! I had the pesto chicken (a creation that the guy behind the counter had come up with) and my friend had the pepperoni, simple yet a classic. The decor is comfortable, the guys working were super friendly, and there is even place for live music on the weekends! Mangiamos has some amazing thin crust pizza with some toppings and names you would never knew that make your tastes buds dance. We have been making the rounds with pizzerias in Aptos for the past 20 yrs. We haven't eaten at Mangiamo's in at least 10 yrs but tonight we ventured out of our norm and we are so happy we did. This pizza is delish! We ordered a cheese, a pepperoni, and a garden party. They were all delicious. I especially loved the crispy crust and the garlic sauce on the garden party. The kids loved their cheese and pepperoni pizzas as well. I think Mangiamo will be our go to pizza place from now on. The girl who took our order on the phone was very polite and my husband said the staff was really friendly when he went to pickup the pizza. read more
