When electronic fingerprinting failed twice for me at work, I was told to go to the Manhattan Postal Center to get good old fashioned inked fingerprints. I called a day in advance to find out what their hours were and when was the best time to stop by for this service. I talked to Steve who was great on the phone and answered all of my questions. He suggested that I come in right at 9AM when they open the next day since it's usually not busy then. Well, I missed that opening time by five minutes due to their crazy parking lot. It's a one-way parking lot in which you enter on the left side of the building and exit on the right. At 9:05, I found myself caught behind three other customers... two people mailing large boxes that needed to be packed and shipped and only Steve was doing that. There was another lady who helped me, I mean, she set up the fingerprinting machine and inserted the card into the machine, but I rolled my own prints with her supervision. $11.95. By the time I left, there was a line almost out the door. read more

After having my Canadian passport application returned because Walgreens didn't take the passport pictures to the correct measurements, I turned to Yelp to find someone legitimate. The reviews for Manhattan Postal Center were so great that I decided to stop in. I walked in to find Steve welcoming me with a big smile. Come to find out he's also Canadian so he was ready to help me get the pictures right this time! The postal center is clean and seems to have anything you could ever need for shipping. They even have a system where you input the passport country and it'll ensure that the image meets the measurement requirements. I really wanted to support this business instead of those other ones since I'm a resident here but what I got in return was an expensive camera lost and negligence from Zack the main guy there. My package was never delivered to the company resulting in a lot of $$$ being lost and I was the "ghosted" for months and months even after I visited the store several times and called several times with a resolution being promised... The people that work there are SUPER nice, and do what they can to help your needs. I recently had a 5' banner made through Manhattan Postal Center. The banner turned out fantastic and I did it all blind over the phone and through email! Steve and his banner partner (banners that large are not made on premise) did a terrific job and turned it around quickly knowing it was being given as a birthday present even though I told them not to rush it. I sent jpg files to them through email and they went ahead and printed. I picked the banner up at the store. (Thanks Yelpers for the heads up on the crazy parking lot and to enter after the building and go around). The price was maybe slightly higher than if I ordered on the internet but not by much and by keeping it local and dealing with terrific people I would definitely go here again. This place is expensive if you only have postage needs. I went in there last week. The place was not too busy. I had letters I was sending internationally. Through the US Post Office that would cost me $1.15 a letter; here the postage cost me $1.55. I had a package that would normally cost me $3.85 through the US post office first class mail; here they charge me $7.05. I did not realize that the mark up would be this much. Thank you Steve, Doris and Sara for coming through every print and postal emergency I've had since I found you. You know you're with good people when they try to make it better when things have gone wrong. I had to laminate some photographs today. After laminating there were air bubbles that had gotten trapped in it and the photos were ruined. Sara and Steve worked patiently to help me reprint the photos, reformat (which in itself is a painstaking process) then laminated the pictures again a second time, this time successfully.
