Went to celebrate our 12 year Anniversary and this place was nothing short of awesome. The food was TOP TIER and the service was A1!!! The ambiance was great right along with our server and the staff. Highly recommend if you're in Baltimore or anywhere in the DMV.

Ruxton is elegant without feeling pretentious, and it's the kind of restaurant that actually complements dressing up for the occasion. Whether you're celebrating something special or simply want an upscale night out, the ambiance makes the experience feel worthwhile. For dinner, I ordered the whole lobster, and I honestly underestimated what I was getting. The presentation alone was impressive--it was served on a board nearly the size of a large wooden cutting board. At around $200, it's definitely a splurge, but after tasting it, I completely understood why. The lobster was cooked perfectly, incredibly fresh, and so good that I somehow managed to finish the entire thing. We also ordered the Lemon Butter Prawns, and they deserve just as much recognition. The lemon butter sauce was rich, bright, and unlike anything I've had before. Easily some of the best prawns I've ever eaten. We shared a side of broccoli, which was good, but with everything else on the table, it simply wasn't the star of the meal. My partner ordered the Fried Lobster with mashed potatoes, and they absolutely nailed it. The lobster was fried perfectly--crispy on the outside while remaining juicy and tender inside without tasting greasy. That's not an easy balance to achieve, but Ruxton pulled it off. The cocktails were just as memorable. I ordered the Shake & Bake, which I'd describe as a tequila take on an Old Fashioned, and it ended up being one of my favorite drinks from our entire Baltimore food tour. My partner's dirty martini was also well made. The service was exceptional throughout the evening. Our team was attentive, professional, and consistently checked in without ever being intrusive. They helped make an already special evening feel even more memorable. Ruxton absolutely lived up to the hype. While it's perfect for celebrating special occasions, the quality of the food, drinks, service, and atmosphere has me looking forward to coming back just to explore more of the menu. This is easily one of Baltimore's premier dining experiences.

I think the portions were a bit small for the price, but the ambiance/views seemed to be part of the cost. cocktail: chesapeake bae - It was just okay, it tasted a bit watered down calamari - delicious, would definitely get again, it would be nice if the sauce was on the side so the calamari wouldn't get soggy crab dip - dip was good, but pretzels were better children's petite filet - requested medium, received medium rare, but my toddler still enjoyed it. the portion is a bit small (I think it was supposed to be 6 oz, but I'm pretty sure it was smaller than that.) empanadas - very good, three to an order (small, two-bite sized), also wish sauces were on the side so the pastry wouldn't be soggy at the bottom filet & lobster - filet was overcooked (requested medium rare, but it was well done, no pink inside), lobster was good scallops and shrimp - delicious, came with 3 scallops and 5 shrimp (all averaged sized, one scallop was small), jasmine rice was good, asparagus was delicious Overall, the seasoning was spot on for all of the food. I just wish the steak temps were done correctly (my husband's filet was chewy). Would most likely return for a special occasion. You can validate parking, which is a huge plus!

Parking in this area is not too hard Service was great no issues. I like the ambiance of this restaurant really good water views and the bathroom was very clean I'm going to ding them for a star because I did feel like we were rushed out but they also close a little bit early on a Saturday night which was a bit surprising. Otherwise I thought it was a great experience and I will happily come back

Downtown Annapolis is full of nice sit down resturaunrs that would be ideal for a date night…read more Lewnes' is a personal favorite of mine. It's so easy to splurge on this restaurant that I never once had buyer's remorse. Im my usual order is a NY Strip Oscar Style with a side of cream spinach or French fried potatoes. The sides are also massive you could easily share them with a table of 4-5 people. Appetizers I like include oysters (raw and Rockefeller) and the jumbo lump crab cocktail. If you have room for dessert get the brownie a la mode!

You get a nice warm feeling there. A very large place. Love the entrance, is has a very nice bar. Food- Very pricing for what was ordered and brought to us. The shrimp from the shrimp cocktail tasted old and a bit chewy. My crab cakes had very little lump crab for $50. The server told me that they would be top notch. Wife's petite filet was good. Side dishes had to be sent back because they were warm. Wine selection is large and varied. My old fashioned did not come with a large ice cube, so I reprimanded the server and he changed it out. Classy places serve them with a large ice cube! Service- Felt rushed. Maybe they didn't have enough servers. Ours could have been a bit more matured and experienced. Their smocks need to be whiter. If you are wearing white, it needs to be white and not have that unbleached used look. Value- I don't see it. Stoney River is a better value though their atmosphere is lacking. Wait time- they sat us immediately. Food took a bit long we thought. All in all, disappointed. I went online earlier in the week asking for the best steakhouse in Md. and Lewnes was at the top of the list. We do not have an issue with spending money for dinner but if you are at a top notch restaurant, everything has to be top notch, right?! https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g29494-d523105-r1052264894-Lewnes_Steakhouse-Annapolis_Maryland.html#

The crab egg rolls were bland and the crab cakes, once a standout for me, just did not have the flavor I remember. Service was also very slow. On a quiet Sunday with just five of us dining, it took about 20 minutes to receive our drinks. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was instead directed to a supervisor who spent more time explaining the situation than actually acknowledging our concerns or offering an apology. To make matters worse, a credit card service fee was automatically added even though we paid in cash and had to ask for it to be removed. After more than 30 years of visiting, this experience was especially disappointing. At this point, I do not plan on returning.

She was warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and really made the entire experience feel special. We started with the biscuits served with jam and butter, and they were such a treat. Warm, tender, and comforting, with the richness of the butter and sweetness of the jam making them hard to stop eating. The blue crab deviled eggs were another wonderful start, creamy and rich with the delicate sweetness of the crab and just the right amount of savory flavor. The rib eye was exceptional, beautifully cooked, incredibly tender, and full of that deep, beefy, slightly smoky flavor you want from a great steak. I also loved the grilled okra. The grilling gave it a wonderful char and smokiness while still keeping the freshness of the vegetable. The prawns were another standout, tender and succulent with a slightly sweet, briny flavor that paired beautifully with the rest of the meal. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared, and every dish brought something different to the table. Between the beautiful al fresco dining, the incredible food, and Ellie's outstanding service, this was one of those dining experiences you remember long after the meal is over. I would absolutely return to St. Anselm the next time I'm in Washington, DC.

He came here for a restaurant week birthday treat for one of my friends. Michaels is located on eastern Avenue. They have their own small lot and you can probably find decent street parking close by as well. When you walk in the first thing you will notice is the wood panel on all of the wall walls. Reminded me of my parent's basement when I was growing up. Looks like the restaurant has remained unchanged as far as its original designs from when it first opened 40+ years ago. There was a very nice waitress working by the name of Brooke. It appears that she was the only waitress working on a Saturday afternoon. There was one bartender. So if you are in a rush, do not expect the fastest service. But Brooke was great very friendly and was willing to answer any question about menu items that we had. She brought out some bread and took our drink orders. I had a Stella in later ordered a old-fashioned. The old-fashioned was very good. Not too sweet and a generous amount of bourbon. They do not have the large single cubes of ice so it was traditional, crushed ice. But it was strong enough that it was not watered down as the ice melted. For my meal, I had a New York strip steak with a crab cake. Also had a cup of cream of crab soup and a slice of cheesecake. This was only the restaurant we menu for $55. Crab soup was delicious delicious. It had a good flavor and you could taste the chunks of real crab meat. The crabcake was OK, it had a generous amount of jumbo lump crab meat, but it was a little on the bland side. The New York strip steak was absolutely delicious. Cooked perfectly medium. Warm pink center and a delightful char to the exterior. Did not need any additional seasoning or steak sauce. The sides were so so. I just had a baked potato. It was nothing fancy, just a plain baked potato with a dollop of sour cream. Overall, a solid place. It appears the locals enjoy it because the bar packed with people who all knew each other and it seems like they come quite frequently. The menu has some pretty good weekend specials. I wouldn't mind coming back again.
