    Pork + Chicken Lumpia Shanghai | 100 pc - $40
    Cherylynn N.

What's the worst thing someone can bring to a potluck? (A) One 2-liter bottle of off brand cola. (B) A pack of hotdogs with no buns. (C) Something from the grocery store with a reduced price/day-old sticker STILL on it! This is always up for a hot debate...along with what's the best thing to bring to a potluck. How about what's one of the best crowd pleasers? LUMPIA! I did a price comparison for seven Filipino restos from SF (Excelsior/Balboa Park) to DC/Colma area and Manila Eatery had the second most reasonable price: 100 pc lumpia shanghai for $40! The first is at Fil-Am ($37) but good luck trying to reach a live person on the phone. The other restos I contacted are charging $50-$55. Manila Eatery offers chicken or pork lumpia shanghai. I called in and ordered 100 pc, half pork and half chicken lumpia shanghai. They need several hours' notice for pick-up (cc's accepted). The lumpia shanghai is rolled tight and uniform, cut into thirds and fried to a golden-brown, crunchy deliciousness. The pork is more flavorful and moister than the chicken. But, a dip into the sweet and sour sauce...problem solved. They add vents to the takeout boxes (no tray) so the freshly fried lumpia shanghai will stay crunchy. Overall, pretty solid lumpia shanghai and the price is right. If you're looking to bring some savory, crunchy deliciousness to your next potluck, Manila Eatery got you!

Fantastic Filipino Food!! Manila Eatery has that cafeteria-style mom and pop type feeling right when you walk in and their food is truly authentic. The 4/5 stars is just because their cleanliness could be a little better and their menu options aren't always available. I think they are still getting on their feet after COVID - a few times they have been out of some of the staple dishes (longaniza, lumpia, beef stew). It's sad because when they do have it, the flavor is on point! I'm just waiting for their standards to get back to give them that 5 stars

It was my first time here The couple behind the cashier are very friendly I ordered one of their 2 item combo plate . For a $15 ( tax included) + tops I was expecting a bigger portion. They put 2 tiny ice cream scoops of rice . The food quality and taste was not satisfactory. I was so hungry and I was around the area and as always I wanted to try something new .

I almost felt disrespectful at this portion of this two item plate. $13 for two white rice scoops. Literally 2 tiny pieces of beef Kaldereta with all veggies. 2 little chicken adobo pieces Then 5 little Shanghai lumpia's for $3 probably wouldn't come backs

Extension of the first pic. More Filipino dishes, like pancit, garlic rice, langonisa, etc

I had family visiting from Virginia and they specifically requested for Filipino food, specifically, chicken lumpia. Of course, I'm happy to oblige since I don't eat pork. So glad Manila Eatery was open on a Monday and most of all, serve chicken lumpia which is rare. Man, I ordered 5 orders and there were 8 of us. I'm bummed I didn't get a chance to take a pic of everyone's order. Once they sat down, they started to eat. Staff: there was a nice lady who helped us out. We weren't familiar w the dishes so we were asking lots of questions. It's not a fancy place but food is not bad either. It's served buffet style and you choose between 2-3 items. This way, you can have more than one main entree. Food: we ordered chicken adobo (could use more chicken breasts or thighs to have more meat), chicken lumpia ( must have been good cuz I only got one. They are a bit tinker than what I'm used to) fried fish (it wasn't too greasy) longanisa (I was told it was delicious, pancit, nilaga and turon for dessert. Price: is very reasonable for the portions. Location/Parking: restaurant is located at Colma Metro shopping center so there's plenty of parking spaces. I'm addition before or after you can walk off what you've eaten and go shopping. This place may not fancy but food is good it gets busy during lunch time. I highly recommend coming as soon as they open which we did or go after lunch crowd has dies down. Enjoy!

And that garlic rice was simple, fragrant, and the kind of side dish that quietly steals the whole show. I got their Lechon Kawaii, pork adobo and garlic rice. All silog's comes with garlic rice or white rice and an over easy egg. You can add tomato for $2 extra (two sides combo upgrade is $3 more) I loved their Lechon sooooo tender and crispy paired well with the side of white vinegar or the brown sauce! We shared their sizzling sisig which was great per my cousin but I think it was a little dried without the egg? We got the combo of pork and chicken. Shared a Poncit Bihon, I always said more lemon the better but it was ok? I will try other other noodles dishes next time.

My mom and I ate here for an early dinner, and there was adequate seating. The mami was flavorful and the noodles were fresh and not soggy. The siopao was moist, sweet, savory and tender. I tried a bit of the pork bbq and it still tasted great like the first time I tried it 20+ years ago. The Gulaman Sago was not too sweet, but the sago pearls could've been fresher on my next try. While the big shared feasts are fun, I was kinda curious about the specialty dishes (e.g. sisig) that were more of an à la carte experience. Silut Bilao #4: There were only 4 of us, so we didn't get the big dish with "Fight" in the name. There was so much here that no one had to fight for their food. I really like the Misua Soup we start with, had a nice chicken flavor and silky noodles. The main platter had so many fun and delicious items. The Crispy Pata was probably my favorite, so crispy and delicious, especially with the various dips. The Longganisa was another highlight with a cross-sectional cut that enabled a lot of surface area to be nicely charred. The Chicharon was another highlight since it both crispy crunchy skin and some softer meat + fat. The Grilled Liempo had the strongest charred grill taste. Everything else was nice too, just too many to enumerate. For dessert the mixed halo halo with ube ice cream was the best. So many great flavors and textures together at once.
