Worst bbq on Saint Louis. They gave me pork n beans instead of baked beans. The bbq was not fresh and the rib tips were tough and greasy tasting. There are so many great bbq places in the area I have no idea how this place is busy all the time. They don't do refunds so I exchanged my meal for the burger which was the size of a slider so they were nice and gave me two. I gave two stars because they were nice but too pricy for the portion sizes you get. The pork n beans and old bbq threw me for a loop. The BBQ tasted better than the last time I had it roughly 10yrs ago. It was average then. The meat was kind of tender this time with a slightly lighter fluid after taste. You get less than average amount for the price. Sauce was good and sweet like I prefer it. Potato salad was almost a copy of C&K but not as good. The flavor was ok kind of sweet. Don't ask for extra potato salad. They only give you a couple of tablespoons at best and charge $2.75! Complete RipOff!! I may go back but wouldn't get extras! Not that that's a bad thing but you want grilled flavor if youre getting BBQ from a BBQ establishment; otherwise I can bake my own "BBQ" at home. For sides I got potato salad and spaghetti. I have finally found a place in North County that has flavor in their meat. The ribs were seasoned very well, a little dry but very good. The potato salad was very sweet, not my taste at all, I was excited when I saw it because it was very yellow and I prefer mustard potato salad, the sweetness was just overwhelming. The baked beans didn't have much flavor, it tasted mostly just like pork n beans straight out of the can. So I wasn't pleased with the sides, but the meat was very good. The only other downside for me was that we couldn't call ahead. I was getting food for my office, so call ahead would have been more convenient. The staff was super nice. Overall good experience. If I want yummy, cheap, and fast bbq, I come to St. Louis Q! The bbq is soooo good. The fact that I can get a pulled pork sandwich with potato salad on top for $2.50 is mindblowing. I'm actually amazed at how yummy it is for the price. The rib tip sandwich is also a crowd favorite. During my last visit, I was in line and all 7 people ahead of me ordered the sandwich. It's Monday, 19 June 2017 and I wanted some St Louis style barbeque. I read about this place on yelp and it got pretty good reviews so I thought I would give it a try. So lets start with the positives: great prices, lots of food for the price, barbeque sauce was really good for me. Potato salad was really good in my opinion and I'm really picky when it comes to my potato salad. The green beans were good as well. Cons: pulled pork was really dry and had no flavor. There's nothing worse than dried out pork. The ribs were over cooked and had little flavor as well. All the flavor came from the sauce. It's a little hole in the wall in the projects. No place to sit and eat which I doubt that you would want to sit and eat there. The cook has his grill on the front of the stores cooking all the meat and I don't think he uses any seasoning or marinades for the meat. The meat doesn't even have a smoked flavor. I ordered the Rib Tips combo with potato salad and baked beans but had to get spaghetti instead bc they ran out. The place is small inside with no seating area. The menu is listed largely on the walls beside and below the counter. The guys working there are really nice and it was nice to see it's a family business. The food was good but not what I expected. I was looking forward to having bread with my BBQ but they put the bread under the BBQ with lots of BBQ sauce so it was soggy by the time I started eating. The rib tips were good and tender but there were a few pieces that were really dry. The potato salad was ok but the spaghetti was not good. I did have a chance to taste the baked beans and they were delicious. I also ordered a slice of caramel pound cake. It was pretty good. Man this place is so underrated. Place is a little small and hard to find but definitely great bbq. Came here with a few friends after a recommendation from someone from school. Got the rib tips and the brisket sandwich. Brisket sandwich is pretty simple, just bread, brisket, potato salad and bbq sauce but man it was really good. The brisket is cut thin, which I usually don't like but the meat had a lot of flavor and nice texture. Really good balance of acid, sweetness and fatty in the sandwich. The rib tips were great too nice smoke on them and a very distinctive smoke flavor I haven't really had elsewhere. Came with fries which were seasoned really well too. People here are really nice as well. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you're looking for some bbq but wanna try something new other than the typical pappys or sugarfire.
