I've been coming to Manna for years now, as I used to live down the street. It is SOO good, the chicken is always tender and not dry. What is mostly dangerous is the manna roll. A deep fried sushi roll with cream cheese and amazing filling. Definitely a once-in-a-while indulge. The owner is very friendly and so is everyone else working there. Manna My family and I have been going to Manna for years. I ordered 5 dinners tonight in anticipation of family coming over for dinner. When I got home, I discovered one of the meals was wrong. I had ordered a large spicy chicken teriyaki dinner and received a regular chicken teriyaki dinner. Since I had family over, I was hesitant to call and report the mistake, but I wanted what I initially ordered. I called Manna to report the mistake. They told me a new dinner would be ready in 15 minutes. I ate a few bites of my wrong dinner and got a call from Manna. They said they remember me ordering a regular teriyaki dinner. I told the lady on the phone, "I never order regular teriyaki, all I order is spicy." She told me they would still do it, but to bring back the dinner that was the mistake. My husband went up to Manna and gave them the old dinner. He then watched them scoop out the the chicken of my old dinner, proceed to throw it back on the grill and add the "spice" to it. I can't imagine this was an okay thing for them to do. Isn't this a health violation? I get that I took a few bites of my old dinner, but this is just wrong. This made me think of another situation I had at Manna some time ago. Before they switched over to their new style of punch cards, my husband had two cards in his wallet, one old and one new. He asked the owner to combine the two, which is not an unreasonable request and other businesses do it all the time. The owner refused. Said the one card was too old. She then laughed at him because he was confused as to why she wouldn't do it. She still refused to combine the cards. As he walked out the store he overheard her say, "ah, I piss him off." He hasn't been back since tonight to help me get the correct dinner. I have never written a restaurant review, but thought this needed to be said. I don't think I asked for anything crazy, I just wanted the meal I ordered. I don't think this type of behavior is okay. Am I wrong? read more

When it comes to quick and cheap teriyaki this place is great! I have been here 3 times and have had chicken teriyaki and/or chicken katsu each time and have always been happy. Portions are a good size and price is low; a bright spot on Aurora Ave. for sure! read more

This is not the best teriyaki around. It may very well be the best on a Sunday because everything else is closed. The dining room is about 100 degrees and kinda dumpy. Get it to go. I was the only customer there when I went in a little after 4 p.m. And there were dirty tables but the place was generally clean. I am Not sure what everybody is raving about here but the prices were average and the food was good. The staff were friendly and I would definitely go back but I wouldn't say that its outstanding, but you won't go wrong either.. The overall experience is that this is just an average teriyaki place. Not a fan:-/ Ordered lunch for my wife and I to go. She got the noodles and vegetables, added the shrimp for extra charge. I got Szechuan Beef and rice. The extra charge for the shrimp was deceiving, it showed large shrimp, got baby bay shrimp. As for the Szechuan beef, terrible! Over-cooked vegetables, sweet and sour soup with spice and slivers of chopped beef instead of the chunks shown in the pic. When I arrived to meet my wife for lunch, the complete bag was sopping with sauce(soup), all the napkins drenched, silverware and extra condiments soaked! What a debacle. And nothing to clean up with! The Sobe green tea was awesome! All for $24.00...no thnx! read more

First time trying this place and it was very solid teriyaki. Chicken Katsu was very good with Panko breading not too heavy, and straight chicken Teryaki was good too. Good sauce, plenty of rice and a solid salad with mixed greens and veggies not just the straight typical iceberg most places have. Will be back. read more

Manna has been my Teriyaki takeout place for years. But within the last month everything has changed. I have a feeling it's new management. I don't recognize anyone working there. The Teriyaki sauce tastes a little different, even the basic salad dressing is off. I am really hoping someone is on vacation and things are going to get back to normal. If it doesn't I will be looking for a new place and missing what I once had. To anyone taking over a restaurant please remember: Don't change anything if the business is doing well. This is the biggest mistake new owners make. Follow the established "secret" recipes. I'm going to try it again in a week or two and hope that I'm wrong about the ownership change. read more

I have been getting the large teriyaki chicken, with cold slaw and hold the sauce on the chicken, phoning my order in. Maybe 7-8 years now. It is the best teriyaki around. Others say they are the best. Nope. This is the best. Very nice people. I moved to Tucson about 6 months ago. In Tucson, they really don't know how to prepare chicken teriyaki seattle style. Well, I'm not into dating ballerinas, I don't chain anything to the table, and I'm not really sure what "Seattle-style" teriyaki really means, but I can tell you that the folks in this little joint treat me like royalty. I work a few miles from them in Shoreline, and the food is always wonderful, the service grand, and the atmosphere is *quiet* -- just what I need for a break in an otherwise stressful work day. Try the Manna Roll if you want something different. And be sure to say "kaum saw mee dah" when you get your food... its the phonetic spelling of "thank you" in Korean. :) read more

This place has the best katsu I've had. The young woman at the counter is always super nice and the kitchen staff has always been really friendly as well. After several years of frequenting this location I feel they make a very consistent and tasty plate of spicy chicken teriyaki. They have plenty of choices on their menu and just recently added some new items. But I have two issues: Communicating clearly with the lady who answers the phone - something often seems to get lost in "translation" at that step or further back in the kitchen. The other is that the spicy option is $1 more than regular, which is a tad steep in my opinion. So for two orders of "spicy" chicken teriyaki last night it boosted our bills $2.20 and I had to add hot sauce at home. Of course the one order which should have been vegetables instead of rice came with rice and no vegetables even though I had the lady on the phone repeat my order. I'll continue to frequent the place (there are lots of teriyaki joints in my area) but no more "spicy" for sure. I can do that home and "tip" myself a nice $2.20. read more

Yummmmmm! Had a delicious dinner here. They were very busy with the line going out the door yet they were very polite despite being over whelmed and we got our large order in about 20 minutes. My only disappointment was with the stir fried veggies as they consisted of cabbage except for one piece of broccoli and a carrot slice. read more

My friend and i go here for teriyaki. since i don't like teriyaki, i usually order chicken curry. It was great the very first time we both went here, but now it's not even good now. They have changed it around multiple times and now i wont invest my money here any time soon, or maybe ever. They should be getting a zero star. read more

Even after moving to Bellevue, I'd make it a point to stop by whenever I was in the area. Years (and many teriyaki restaurants) later, Manna Teriyaki is still my favorite chicken teriyaki. Best teriyaki I have EVER had! Love the sauce, love the coleslaw salad. I used to live nearby and was a regular. Now, whenever I am within that area, I make sure to go. The new owners are as great as the old owners - even now, the woman remembers me though I only get there a few times a year. It actually was one of the worse teriyaki experience's of my 31 years. The chicken was over cooked and stringy on my spicy chicken order and my girlfriends normal chicken teriyaki was bland and dry. I won't be recommending this place to anyone. read more
