Delicious breakfast ham steak, side of sausage.

Visited Saturday, June 21, 2025. I'm visiting from Los Angeles, and am once again reminded of the wonderful experience I have eating here. Breakfast was delicious! Had the Virginia Ham Steak, side order of sausages, home fries, and white toast. Tasty and flavorful. My brother had the Western omelette which he enjoyed. The service was quick and accurate, and was impressed with the attentiveness of our server watching over us. I have tried other locations for breakfast, but none compare. And to top it off, Maria, who was working the register, was a real joy to talk to. Very fiesty in a good way! I will be back for the food and the fiestiness!

Jersey burger cooked to perfection and juicy. Egg was amazing.

Totally surprised. I was expecting a walk up counter hot dog joint with 4 items on the menu only to find it has a giant, full-on diner menu with sit-down service. The service was prompt and friendly. The food came out lightning quick. Nice ambiance as well. The Texas Weiner was not my favorite thing. The hot dog was a little underdone and shrivelly at the same time. It did have a good snap to it, however and was plenty tasty. The chili was a bit weird. Almost had a Cincinnati chili thing going on. Maybe a bit of cinnamon? Not bad, just a bit odd. The burger on the other hand was superb. Got the Jersey burger. The patty is grilled instead of griddled and had a nice scald on it while being juicy on the inside. The Taylor ham was fried up well and the sunny side egg was cooked to perfection, which is pretty rare for an egg on a burger. The fries were classic diner crinkle cut fries. Crisp on the outside and pillowy on the inside. So, very pleasantly surprised overall. They did have off brand ketchup, which I normally knock a star off for but the positives far outweighed the annoyance of that. Been driving by this place forever and glad I finally tried it.

I've eaten here a couple times and I always order the Weiner combo #2 with home fries well-done. The menu is big but the combo hits the spot. The food is good and comes out fast. The waitress are crazy but crazy is a good way. Makes the dining experience more lively.

I was expecting this to be like any other NJ Hot Dog joint, but this should be considered Manny's Diner. The exterior is cute, the inside is clean, and the menu is much longer than we thought it would be. They serve an extensive breakfast, with a long list of other options, including chicken sandwiches, fried shrimp, and soup. We ordered a hot dog (plain) and a texas weiner (the same, but with mustard, onions, and chili) and a cheeseburger deluxe. It was all fine, I prefer the hot dogs, but they don't make them often enough to be labeled a hot dog place. The buns and the chili seemed a little dry and stale, but not bad. The burger was exactly what you would expect from a diner, some goodnplain food with cole slaw and a pickle. All in all, great experience. We will absolutely be coming back with a different mindset to give some other menu items a try!

Been coming here since before i was born.. maybe a little biased, so be it.. anybody giving 2 and 1 star just dont know what you were getting yourself into.. and dont know how to handle a place like this. sometimes, like anywhere, they might miss.. chances are, you had higher expectations which for here are not allowed (lol). You go for the breakfast, the breakfast samiches, fried food, and a solid burger.. it says mannys texas wiener, but you gotta find where the real gold is..

All I can say is EEWWWW! I've driven past this place for yrs. and finally decided to stop in. I ordered a chili dog and the Greek Burger, lets first dissect the burger which consisted of: Feta Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onions, Tzatziki Sauce & Oregano, wrapped in a Pita. First, I asked for no tomatoes and got it anyway. Second, the feta cheese wasn't the normal crumbly texture, it was rubberier. Third, the tzatziki sauce was a runny liquid rather than the normal stiff stuff and tasted disgusting. Fourth, the burger itself was flavorless but bearable. Fifth, my fries were under cooked. And lastly, the coleslaw was dry. And now the chili dog... The hot dog literally tasted like bologna (yuck) and never in my life have I seen chili like this. It was dry, grainy, and tasted nothing like chili. I legit trashed everything.

Fish and chips with side of Cole Slaw

I usually order the fish and chip platter which has a side of fat fries and yummy cole slaw. I wish the tartar sauce was not the brand by Ken's. The fries arrive hot and the cole slaw comes on a bed of lettuce with what appears to be sprinkling of black pepper. The battered fish is fried okay; I'd like it to be fried a tad bit more but it's okay. Place is busy and many of the staff have been there decades. Parking is not bad since the opening of another lot. I was there on a Sunday at about 12:30 pm. Price for my meal in December 2023 is $17.95 without tax and tip. There is no tap and pay, you can use your credit card with a 3% added charge or you can use cash.

The Veggie Panini is so tasty; the ingredients taste fresh and as though from a quality sauté; the Portobello Mushrooms, Red Onions, Roasted Red Peppers, and Spinach all mesh together juicily well, of good flavor. I try to make the meal as Vegan friendly as possible by removing the Feta Cheese. Still, the panini might have butter which texture wise more so than flavor wise is present. If not for looking in the sandwich I might not note the buttery-melt-like residue which is post my curiosity of the oil/sauce. I think a garlic-olive oil base may be a great option to substitute for any seeking to Veganify the Veggie Panini beyond just removing the cheese. The coleslaw is tasty and contains a light mayonnaise-milky-like dressing, which one may drain out, though the coleslaw comes with it. Being able to substitute the coleslaw for a commensurate size salad can help with Veganify-ing the coleslaw portion. The fresh fruit are fresh and tasty. Request a check for available fruits to be more sure of what might be coming in your fresh fruit package. The meal is overall juicy and satisfying. The establishment offers a variety of seating options and has a somewhat classy modern-retro vibe. I don't look for a jukebox or a dancefloor though I won't find any surprise if this eatery has them. The establishment accepts different forms of payment.

BEDBUGS in the Booths at Millburn Diner -- and an Owner Who Yells at Customers- STAY AWAY!…read more Quick Summary * Sat in a fabric booth and found multiple bedbugs crawling in the cushions within minutes * Reported it to staff -- no manager came over and nothing was done * We were moved to another table and still charged the full bill * Called the next day -- manager promised a call back but never did * Spoke with the owner later -- he yelled, accused us of harassment, refused to address the issue, and hung up I'm sharing this so other families in Millburn know what we experienced. Date of visit: February 28 Party: Family dinner including our 20-month-old daughter My family and I live in Millburn and try to support local restaurants whenever we can, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Within about five minutes of sitting down in a fabric booth, someone in our party noticed a bug crawling on the seat. Based on what we observed at the time, it appeared to be a bedbug. When we checked behind the booth cushions more closely, we saw several more, at least 8 crawling along both sides of the booth. Seeing multiple insects that were confirmed to be bedbugs where customers are sitting and eating was extremely alarming. We immediately got up and asked to be moved. In hindsight we should have left immediately, but we had already ordered and felt awkward walking out. The staff moved us to a table in the center of the restaurant with wooden chairs. We clearly told our server exactly what we had found in the booth. Nothing further happened. * No manager came over * No one inspected the booth * No one followed up with us * No one offered any acknowledgment beyond a quick apology from the server When the meal ended, we were handed the full bill as if nothing had happened. The next day I called the restaurant to make sure management knew what had occurred. The manager told me he had not heard anything about it and said he would call me back "ASAP." That call never came. Two days later I called again and asked to speak with a manager. This time the owner came to the phone. Instead of addressing the issue or even listening, he immediately became hostile and started yelling. He accused me of harassing him and his employees and said he was going to do nothing about it. After shouting at me, he abruptly hung up the phone. I have never experienced a business owner respond this aggressively or unprofessionally to a legitimate customer concern. For transparency, we documented what we observed at the time and contacted the restaurant directly the following day to give management the opportunity to address the issue. Based on what we experienced -- both the insects we observed in the seating area and the response from management -- this situation felt completely unacceptable. If you are dining in Millburn, there are many other options. DO NOT GO TO THE MILLBURN DINER!

Parking is also highly convenient. The menu is extensive and I can't wait to go back to try everything they have. There are the classic breakfast items of course, but they also have some innovative dishes or familiar dishes with a spin. I ordered the jerk chicken pasta which was spicy, so flavorful and also a great portion size. Others in our party ordered pancakes, which were so fluffy, eggs, fried chicken, fried catfish and more. Everything was fried to perfection and the catfish tasted like it had literally just jumped out of the ocean. Our waiter was super nice and we had a big party so I'm sure it wasn't easy. My only suggestion is that they make their hot drinks hotter. Other than that, I'd seriously come back every weekend.

READ FULL REVIEW!!!…read more March 2026: First time at this establishment was just ok. Hosted a very small get-together here (5 guest). Atmosphere was nice. Music was wayy too loud to hear the person you're sitting next to. Food was tasty and fresh. Coffee was good with great creamer selection (at the time). Our server was my least favorite part of this experience. He was over the top with his energy and upscale tactics (pushy with getting us to order extra drinks and appetizers despite declining). I was hosting this event and did not need him selling us after already being told "no, thank you" twice. It was awkward and ultimately changed the vibe. He hardly checked on us after that encounter and we constantly had to remind them about request that were never brought out to the table. Staff needs to be trained better. This was just an ok experience. April 2026 : What ultimately lead me to write this review was my 2nd experience at this diner. The server was a lot better than our first experience, but we did run into a few too many problems. First, we ordered coffee and are informed that per managements request, we can only have half-half or cream with our coffee. Previously they had French vanilla creamers and other flavored creamers but I guess management decided to save on the additional cost. This was a bummer especially realizing that they could easily afford creamers. This restaurant easily pulls at least $150,000 per week in revenue, so I didn't understand cheapening out like that. I still ordered the coffee. When it came to the table I added the cream into the cup only to find something floating in the coffee. I send it back and ask for a new cup, which the server politely provided. We order our meals and all goes well. Eventually two of the three meals come out and we wait for the final plate to come out. It's common courtesy to wait for everyone to have their meal before eating, so we wait. We wait about 6-7 minutes and the final plate comes out only for it to be cold. All of us ordered breakfast, so you can imagine trying to eat cold egg, potato, and sausage. We ask for the waiter, but before he could get to us the manager passes by and we let him know the issue. He takes the plate to the back and about two minutes later he comes back with the same exact plate. Before the manager arrived to take the plate away, I saw the guest split the egg half and add black pepper on everything so we knew it was the same plate and food she started eating off of that was reheated onto the kitchen grill where other food is being prepared for guest. The manager informs us that he had the chef heat the food up on the griddle and that it should be a perfect temperature. We refuse to accept the plate because it was reheated and not remade entirely. We were shocked that this was the solution even being offered. Reheating food on the griddle seemed unsafe (contamination risk, diseases, illness, etc) and offensive. No one pays these prices to have reheated breakfast served to them. I could've just made that at home for a fraction of the price. We politely refuse the reheated plate and he apologized and took the plate to the back. The server comes over to see what the issue is and we explain everything. He says that he will look into it and take that meal off the bill. Now I'm frustrated because one out of the three of us aren't eating anything and the experience was off. At this point, I'm not eating my meal but the 3rd guest is eating. So the guest who sent their plate back and myself are waiting for the 3rd guest to finish their pancakes. He ordered a stack of 4-5 chocolate chip pancakes and was happily eating away at layer by layer. Eventually he gets to the last 2 pancakes and before he adds syrup he notices what appeared to be an eyelash or short piece of hair imbedded in the pancake. Picture of the clearly imbedded hair included with this review. He immediately stopped eating and looks sick. He had already eaten 3-4 pancakes by then and the idea that he ate more of whatever that was felt unnerving, to say the least. We both start looking to see what he's looking at and long behold the hair was there. At this point we are extremely frustrated and completely over this experience. Management did not make this experience right even after addressing all of these issues both separately and together. I felt like my money was not valued and my business certainly wasn't. They did nothing to remedy these issues and I will NOT be going back to this establishment. This restaurant may look visually beautiful but the service is not. Staff needs more training, music needs to be turned down, chefs need to wear hairnets and everyone needs to follow safe food handling skills. You're putting your guest and your business at risk ignoring these issues. I really really wish I had a better experience.

This weekend I decided to finally check it out. Spot Diner is located in the middle of a block, sandwiched between other store fronts. A blue awning is set over glass windows in the front. The doorway is a bit awkward, but when you get in you'll see plenty of booths and regular tables to sit at. Even better, you can sit at a counter to the left, one of my favorite features of any diner. I wound up sitting at a booth and it was at an odd time (around 4PM) so it was not crowded. The waitress was there very quickly and she was very nice. The host was cool too. No issues at all with service. The interior of Spot Diner has clearly been renovated in recent time. You can tell at one time it probably looked more like a classic diner but since then the interior has been painted blue and grey (giving off a Greek restaurant vibe) and there are some nice paintings hanging on the walls. I was really there just for a snack so I wound up ordering French Toast (which was still available at this hour). It came out quickly and it was good! One of the challenges with French Toast at any restaurant cooking it thoroughly while not drying it out. Fortunately they did a great job here The outer edge had a nice bit to it while the middle was chewy and cooked properly. Butter and syrup were of course provided on the side. Their soups are served hot and fresh, the sweet potato fries are amazing, and the desserts are baked on site. Parking is also available and the staff is so friendly. Looking forward to stopping by again.

Weirdly snug parking lot (especially harrowing when you had to back out into a busy street), and walking inside everything felt oddly tight and squished together. We were now a bit unsure on where we'd decided to stop since the diners closer to homebase are much bigger (and inviting) all around. But... we received our menus (too long/large for our table!) and when we saw the hundreds of choices available - our skepticism disappeared. I went with a sloppy joe (Jersey version) and it was massive. And delicious. One kid went with a grilled cheese, the other with a chicken sandwich. We eventually had to tap out and request a doggy-bag. Good eats. Good pricing. Great waitress (there's no one quite like a Jersey diner waitress that's equally kind and cool and gruff and "Kiss my grits!" - right?). If I found myself down this way again I'd definitely swing back in for 'Round Two'.

The service felt "off" all night, despite the staff's best efforts. Upon arrival, our party of four was led to a table set for only three. Since the restaurant was packed, we had to stand awkwardly in the dining area for several minutes while a chair was brought over from the bar. The host was very apologetic and graciously provided a complimentary order of the Focaccia appetizer ($16) to make amends. However, when we later asked our server for one piece of bread to finish the leftover whipped ricotta, a runner brought out an entire second order of Focaccia.. which eventually turned up on our bill. To their credit.. they later comped the two coffees we ordered with dessert. The bar and kitchen are clearly talented, but the evening continued to have strange pacing and communication gaps. I had the Local Rotisserie Chicken ($32), a generous airline-style cut that was incredibly tender and flavorful, served with perfectly prepared market greens and roasted potatoes. My companion thoroughly enjoyed the Gulf Shrimp Casarecce ($30), and another guest was very impressed with the Chili Brined Grilled Pork Chop ($41), which was both a generous portion and packed with flavor. A manager informed one guest that the linguine for their Crab and Jalapeño dish ($34) didn't meet their standards and asked if it was okay to substitute casarecce instead. While we appreciate the quality control, it was an odd mid-meal adjustment. The Morris Proper has all the ingredients for a five-star destination, but the front-of-house coordination needs to match the high caliber of the kitchen. The primary reasons I'm settling on four stars are these small service lapses and a high noise level that made it difficult for our party of four to converse at a reasonable volume. We will definitely be back. PRO TIP: Complimentary parking is available in the M Station garage. We initially pulled into the 'Retail Parking' area from the Spring Place entrance, but there were neither any spots available nor any signs to direct us to parking elsewhere. If you're visiting the Morris Proper for dinner during the week or any time on the weekend, enter through the main Morris Street entrance to the M Station garage (between 100 and 110 Morris Street) and have your parking ticket validated by the host.
