This restaurant boasts that they are most famous for their "Churros, Pizza & Much More" so of course with that odd and elusive statement we checked it out. We went the Churro route as our litmus test. They have an assortment of stuffed churros in flavors like cream, caramel, & Nutella. I got a unstuffed plain (which I stupidly thought would be a normal cinnamon and sugar but it was literally just a plain dough without any topping) a caramel and Nutella filled. The Nutella was the best of the three but honestly, I wasn't blown away. I feel like I've had a better Churros at Disney or from the Mexican ladies on the subway of NYC. Manolo is a great little coffee shop and a grab and go joint. The thing is if you don't know what to order you are going to get screwed because well over half the menu is made up of boring nonsense. Ever have a big bowl of pasta and after four bites you are simply bored out of your mind? Manolo has quite a few of these dishes so please heed my advice. My personal favorite is the champion ham and cheese croissant served hot. This is a large sweet croissant sliced and served with gooey cheese and ham. A great sub $5 fix that had me coming back at least 3x a week. My only other recommendation is the Manolo Burger. Two beef patties lettuce, cheese tomato with a fried egg on top. Doesn't matter how you order it, it always comes out well done but somehow is always juicy and tender. Horrible time spent in the venue. Went to a grab a quick lunch and it became a joke. A simple salad arrived with mistakes and 5 sides of dressing. The server disappeared for literally 45 minutes. I asked for the manager Tadeu because they extra charged the wrong order in my card. He came back with singles coins and my debit card and said that would be the return. We found this place on google and decided to try it out while we are in town! The food was good, not outstanding, but it made up for most of the terrible service. We walked in with a group of 4 and were seated right away. We then waited 20 min for a server to come to the table, and another 10 for water. Someone other than our server dropped off the food, and we weren't checked on again for over an hour. By the time we had asked for the check (and waited 20 min until we gave it to another server) it had been almost an hour and a half. We watched countless people walk in and be greeted, eat their food, and leave, in the time it took us to order and just start getting our food. I know from experience that serving is hard. I went to this restaurant with my wife yesterday, wanted to try something new, the menu and the pictures was looking good but it was a very bad experience. Let me explain to you ;-) No hostess at the desk. We waited for like 8 min before to ask to a waiter what was going on ? The waiter answer usually you have to wait for the hostess but she is not here so if you want you can sit. We sit at a table and wait an additional 10 min before to ask for a menu. We finally decided what we wanted to eat so I made a sign with my hand to call a waiter. A waiter came to us but then a big tall guy dress in black ( must be the manager ) came to talk to that waiter in his hear telling him that it was not his section and that he can't take this table. 5 min later he talk to our waiter that look like smoking too much to know what was going on in the restaurant came to us. We ordered 2 empanada chicken and beef a caprese salad a parilla and a sandwich with french fries. Empanada came right away, chicken was very good but the beef tasted so bad. Like if you eat a shoe. Caprese salad came after. The salad was not even washed and fresh. Sandwich came and was just a regular sandwich with a horrible bread with french fries. Then the parilla came beef and chicke mixed with red and green peppers plus onion...... All the meat was i think the worst quality ever with a lot of fat everywhere. We eat half of it. Once finished we wanted to go so fast so we asked for the check. The server was busy and taking all his time. Then he finaly came, reading the check, tips was included and a resort and sale taxes of 9% was also included. Gave out card and the server took forever to come pick it up and swipe it. I think my husband had a near heart attack when he noticed this place while we were visiting Miami. He had it in Peru and swore up and down that it was hands down the best churros in the world. But when I got mine I wasn't nearly as impressed- maybe it was overhyped? The dulce was really good though. If I go back to Miami and find this place again- I would definitely order their churros. They're delicious, but I can pretty much get descent ones here in DTLA for about the same taste, maybe even cheaper. We didn't order their dishes except for some dessert and tostados. Unfortunately I had very bad experience with this place. Took me more than 15 minutes to get my first drink. I enjoy the t.v meanwhile I was waiting for my food, but I don't know why took more than 25 minutes for a simple burger and French fries, my first drink was already gone, and the waiter who served me as at first time never show up again, so some another waiter was serving another table right next to me, and I asked for my second beer. Then the food finally show up but now I have to wait for my beer! I really don't understand what type service they offer? NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!! Came to this restaurant with a group of friends last night. Maybe 10-12 of us. It was a Wednesday night and the restaurant wasn't too busy. We were seated and waited TWENTY FIVE minutes before we had to wave down our server just our drink order. By that time we knew what we all wanted so we gave him our orders. Drinks came fairly quickly and so did the food but two or three of us had our orders completely wrong so had to wait for them to make the correct one. Throughout the meal, we all had to flag down our waiter for simple things. Refills on drinks, ketchup, napkins, etc. NEVER did he come by to check on us. And probably wouldn't have if we hadn't stopped him. When we were done eating, that's when things went really south. We were done eating in probably around 30-45 minutes. And after waiting around for another 20 minutes we FINALLY saw our waiter and told him we were ready for the checks, and we explained that there would be a couple different checks. So he brought us each a copy of the full check and asked us to circle which ones would be on our own separate checks. Which we did gladly and quickly. Another 10-15 minutes go by and we stop him once again to come get the checks as well as our credit cards. FOURTY FIVE MINUTES GO BY. I am not kidding you. We sat there and waited and waited while this guy stood at his register and finished our checks. Within this 45 minutes he never left his register and never attended to any of his other parties. We could see the other guests around us growing just as impatient as we were. FINALLY he brings us back our checks, and it turns out he hasn't even charged us yet. He was just separating them. So we gave them right back to him and it took another 10 minutes for him to finish charging us. He had added a 18% tip to all of our bills, which is pretty customary for large parties. But NOT whEn we make the party wait for you for the better better of four hours. Overall, will not go here again. read more

My husband and I have been coming here since we met. We often went to the beach across from it and then inevitably ended up here. Highly recommended dishes: pizza napolitana, calamari, chocolate churros, la planchita, cappuccino, Argentinian burger, pan de migas. The atmosphere is cozy and they are constantly redecorating the space to keep with the times. Parking is very easy at night across the street, during the day it might be a bit harder because the parking is shared with beach goers. read more

This place is an anomaly. It's always packed with seemingly happy patrons who appear to love the food they are eating. I have been here twice with friends, and both times we were served horrible quality food. The hamburgers are terrible, and both of the sandwiches I tried were barely edible. Our server was very nice but he messed up my order even after he had spoken with a manager to figure out what I was ordering. My Spanish is not perfect and his English was worse. I was going to try to order something else but as the rest of my party started their meals, I decided it wasn't worth trying something else. I am rating this restaurant a 2 out of 5 stars. The Spanish tortilla was not up to par. I have to say, the tortillas that are already cooked from Publix are better. I also had a spinach empanada & it was alright. What upset me enough to write this review is that I ordered a chicken soup, & it looks & tastes exactly like one from a can. I would not be surprised if the soup I ordered came straight from a can. I'm just really annoyed & don't think I'll be coming here anymore.
